The Best Game Shows of My Childhood

Ever want to "grab a piece of that glowing rock"? Or "take the physical challenge"? Some of my fondest TV memories from the late '80s and early '90s come from the spate of kiddie game shows that filled many of Nickelodeon's programming hours and even helped launch Fox. With game shows making a surge on TV, I wanted to take a look back at some of the competitions I remember so fondly from my childhood - both classic and ridiculous. Do you find yourself hungry after yoga class? FitSugar reader YogaGirlAli shared her favorite post-yoga class snacks in our Snack Attack: Healthy Snack Ideas community group.

I've been known to be lying in Savasana, while the teacher is telling everyone to close their eyes and forget all of their thoughts, and all I can do is pray that no one will hear my stomach grumbling. I mean, we practically just sweat ourselves dry and I lost track after the 13th Chatturunga; I want to get up and get some nutrients pumping through my veins!

The good news is, I normally crave something healthy - my body feels clean and detoxified and now I just need a nice quick snack from my yoga bag to leave the studio feeling nourished and go on with the remainder of my day. In addition I find that a quick snack leaves me feeling satisfied enough so that Im not starving by lunchtime and can still make healthy decisions and right food choices.

And there’s the 24-year-old who paid off her $10,000 credit card bill with the savings.

This isn’t just for grandmas anymore.

But, could this work for a normal person? Ask yourself whether you have:

A Lot Of Time.

Six hours clipping and sorting, five hours at the checkout counter, and midnight trips to the store . . . say goodbye to free time.

Instead: Make it a party. Six hours is a bit much, but we loved that the 24-year-old threw a party for 20 of her friends on $26. If there is one time when a few hours of preparation might be worth it, this is it. (It also helps to budget for your party.)
