Today we said goodbye to the incomparable Donna Summer, the true queen of the disco era. Donna made a name for herself throughout the 1970s and 1980s with dance club anthems that always managed to get the party started - and still do today! Disco queen Donna Summer has passed away at 63. The singer reportedly suffered complications from lung cancer. Her family has released a statement, saying they are "at peace celebrating her extraordinary life and continued legacy." She's survived by her husband and children. Born on New Year's Eve in 1948, Donna was influenced by Michael Jackson, The Supremes, and Janis Joplin growing up in Boston. Donna eventually moved to Germany to star in Hair, when the Broadway musical moved to Europe, and she picked up fluent German. She would marry and divorce a German man, Helmuth Sommer, but she kept his name in a way, changing hers from Donna Gaines to Donna Summer.

Even if you didn't grow up going to disco clubs, you probably know the words to many of her iconic songs, which include, "Last Dance," "Hot Stuff," and "Love to Love You Baby." Tells us which hit was your favorite, and check out photos of the disco icon through the years now.

Will and Jada Peacefully Welcome the Stars to Norway

Will Smith and Jada Pinkett-Smith were on hand for a Nobel Peace Prize press conference in Oslo today. They're in the city to host a concert celebrating President Obama's award, featuring Wyclef Jean and Natasha Bedingfield, that will air in the US in early 2010. Although Will and Jada are used to commanding the attention of a crowd, he says that they're staving off stage fright by pretending that the star-studded audience is in their own living room at home. It's an impressive way to wrap up the year for Will and Jada, who have both spent a lot of their recent downtime supporting their family's various projects.

Last night's Oscars look like they'll have record-low viewing numbers based on the preliminary ratings, Reuters reports. Stay tuned for the final numbers later today.

The 2012 Billboard Music Awards brought plenty of famous faces to the MGM Grand in Las Vegas Sunday. LMFAO, who won six awards, opened the show before hosts Julie Bowen and Ty Burrell took the stage. A variety of artists including The Wanted and Kelly Clarkson, introduced by Robin Thicke, had their turn in the spotlight. Carrie Underwood, who brought husband Mike Fisher, performed "Blown Away" in a glamorous red dress, while Natasha Bedingfield sang a tribute to the late Donna Summer. Katy Perry rocked the crowd with the debut of her new single, "Wide Awake," and Usher brought "Scream" to the stage.

Justin Bieber took the microphone as well with "Boyfriend." Jordin Sparks shared a moving rendition of "I Will Always Love You," honoring Whitney Houston, after John Legend kicked it off with "The Greatest Love of All." Bobbi Kristina then accepted the millennium award for her mom, saying, "I'm just blessed to have been in such an incredible woman's life." There were many more statues given out this evening with Julianne Hough presenting Justin with top social artist. New Girl's Zooey Deschanel was on hand to introduce Billboard's woman of the year, Taylor Swift.

How to Use Google's New Knowledge Graph

In an effort to improve and smarten up search results, Google launched the Knowledge Graph today. Previously, Google's search algorithm matched a string of letters or keywords to websites containing those letters, but keywords often have deeper meanings than face value. Google created the Knowledge Graph in response to the need for a more intelligent search model that better understands the people, places, and things that users are looking for.

Intended to include more appropriate search results, the Knowledge Graph also includes an organized array of basic facts, maps, and pictures to enrich the results. We've outlined below the three points you need to know when using the Knowledge Graph:

What terms to use: As of now, the Knowledge Graph only pulls results for people, places, or groups (like bands). Type in terms such as "Wes Anderson," "Houston, Texas," or "The Strokes" to see the Knowledge Graph in action. Type in a longer query like "keyboard shortcuts for mac," and Google will return to its classic results page format.
