New Dido Song: "Don't Believe in Love"

A little while ago we got a taste of Dido's upcoming album, Safe Trip Home, when she was streaming a track off it, "Look No Further." I liked that one well enough, but I'm really digging this new tune, "Don't Believe in Love." There's something sultrier, almost jazzier than what you'd expect, though Dido's light, breathy voice is still at the heart of it all. It's actually a pretty cool combo: some low bass guitar, a great drumbeat and Dido's soft, sweet vocals.

You may have noticed this song in the episode of 90210 titled "The Bubble." Safe Trip Home hits shelves Nov. 18. To check out "Don't Believe in Love" and tell me what you think,

Never Liked It Anyway was founded by a woman who made it through a major breakup herself and recognized the benefit of cleaning out her closet . . . and profiting in the process.

For us (admittedly not in the throes of a violent parting of ways), the site raises two questions:

Is It Hilarious or Sad?

We’re happy to see the sellers get revenge (or at least revenue) after their heartbreak. But so many of the confessions in the Tell It section (in which users spill but don’t sell) are stories of men doing horrible things and women in horrible situations. The headline “NICE BOOTS BAD GUY” made us laugh . . . but the person who got dumped while her mother was dying broke our hearts.

Is It Cost-Effective or Cursed?

From a consumer's view, it’s a great deal! Over $1,000 off a Tiffany wedding band? It sounds too good to be true. And maybe it is. If you believe in karma, acquiring trinkets from failed relationships just might doom you to the same fate. Then again, wedding dresses for 40 percent off!

First of all, you look great! How often do you work out each week?

I always try to fit in some type of activity every day, but just like everyone else's schedules, some days are busier than others. I'm a big believer in being active no matter what, so even if I only have a few minutes to squeeze some moves in, it's better than nothing.

What are your go-to moves for those busy days?

I love lunges, especially because you don't need any equipment to do them. So no matter where you are, you have those to fall back on.

Are You Satisfied With the Chuck Series Finale?

That's a wrap for Chuck, the funny, moving spy series that we loved for five seasons. The two-hour finale has the entire gang working on the two last missions - first, to destroy the Intersect once and for all, and the second is more emotional: to help Chuck get Sarah back after she lost most of her memories. In the end, everyone gets pretty close to a happy ending: Devon and Ellie wrestle with a fresh start in the Midwest, Morgan and Alex move in together, Jeff and Lester get a record deal (believe it) and Casey goes to see about a girl.

Things are a little bittersweet for Chuck and Sarah, since they don't pick up exactly where their love story left off before Sarah's memory was wiped, but their final kiss implies that they'll get there again someday. We also get a nostalgic montage of the best Chuck and Sarah moments, which felt emotionally satisfying in a different way. The final image of the spy couple on the beach gave me goose bumps, but I wanted to know how other fans felt about the finale. Weigh in now - are you happy with Chuck's series finale?

In the past, LearnVest spoke to parents who chose not to use diapers with their children and dove into the stay-at-home parent debate. This time, one mother shares why she has decided to homeschool her children.

In 2002, we had our third child, 10 years after our second was born. Our eldest two boys were in a private school, but we began to consider the best way to educate our newest addition. Although we loved the school our boys attended, each year cost us about $10,000. We questioned how feasible it would be to put additional kids through there, too.

We had three more children in the following years for a total of six, and with each new baby came further confirmation that putting our four youngest through private school was out of the question financially. Our two eldest were approaching college age, which put even more pressure on us.

The decision was simple. We elected to educate our four youngest at home.

Why Public School Wasn’t an Option

We always knew that we wouldn’t send our children to public school. Parents who opt out of public school do so for many reasons: safety, quality of education, religious conviction, and many others. My husband and I both went to public school, but that was a long time ago, and I don’t know what schools are like today. For us, religion was the main reason. We believe that God gave parents the responsibility to raise, train, and educate their own children. Many parts of the Bible talk about training your children - to us, that includes education.

A sense of empathy is key to creating strong, healthy relationships - with family members, friends, and especially significant others. Whether you're building new bonds or hoping to strengthen your current connections, you can follow these four essential steps to bring more empathy to your relationships:

Try to understand where others are coming from. The ability to put yourself in someone else's shoes can do wonders for a relationship. If you're angry with a roommate for regularly leaving her things lying around, take a step back: is it because she's usually in a hurry? Rather than snapping at her for being messy, help her to organize her schedule and offer a few time management tips. Not only will empathy allow you to see things from her perspective, but it will also force you to consider the way your actions are perceived by someone else.
Learn to appreciate differences. Face it: you won't agree with everyone about everything. Embrace your own beliefs but try to see the value in someone else's, too. Have a sister who doesn't believe in living together before marriage? No need to list out all the reasons you think it's necessary. Just remember that a range of opinions keeps things exciting and you'll be able to learn from those who see things in a fresh, unusual way.
Acknowledge other people's feelings. Half the time people don't care whether or not you're on their side - they just want to know that you recognize how they feel. Before you jump right into your own opinions, take a second to address theirs first - "I know you must be feeling like this, but I'm seeing it like this."
Anticipate what people may need. When you know someone well, you can usually predict what they want out of something - including their relationship with you. If a friend calls about a breakup, chances are she doesn't want you to berate her for hanging on for so long. Instead, expect that she'll just want you to listen and save the tough love for later.
