NBC's Medium is one of those shows that just never grabbed me. It's an intriguing premise, and Patricia Arquette has gotten a fair amount of acclaim (and one Emmy) for her performance as psychic Allison DuBois. But I've never felt compelled to tune in.

But now the writers' strike is upon us, and Medium is returning tonight with all-new episodes. So, all you Medium fans, it's time for you to defend your show to disbelievers like me and tell us why it's time to tune in.

Defend This: "Trapped in the Closet"

What, exactly, was R. Kelly thinking when he started recording "Trapped in the Closet," his magnum opus (of sorts) that is premiering its latest chapters on IFC this week? Did he think he had a mainstream hit on his hands? Is he playing a joke on us? Does he exist in a bizarre alternate universe where this truly is a quality song/music video/whatever it is? Is he punking the entertainment industry? Is he trying to make us laugh? And, if so, should we be laughing with him or at him?

I tried to resist "Trapped in the Closet" when I first heard about it, but I finally caved and watched the first chapter - still a classic, in my mind, given that it features the actual scene with R. literally trapped in the closet. From there, I was a "Trapped" evangelist, insisting to everyone who would listen that this might be the biggest pop culture trainwreck ever. I even watched the commentary on the DVD of the first 12 chapters, incredulous at how R. clearly thinks he's got an Oscar-worthy project on his hands. But I'm still surprised that he pulled off the coup of getting IFC - which I thought was a relatively credible network devoted to promoting independent film - involved. Maybe "Trapped" isn't something to be mocked anymore. Maybe it's serious art.

Defend This Show: "The Bachelor"

I should not like "The Bachelor." I should hate it with a fiery passion. I should especially not like "The Bachelor" right now, because I find this year's eligible man, Andy Baldwin, lacking anything resembling a personality. Why should I want to watch 25 women beg and plead and sell each other out for a chance to date a bland dude who looks like a Ken doll says things like "Gosh, you sure do look pretty!" and "These women are smart!" without a trace of irony? There seems to be something icky and anti-feminist about it all (and no, the fact that "The Bachelorette" exists doesn't make it better).

And yet, you know where I am every Monday night after "Heroes" ends? Sitting on my couch with a pint of Ben & Jerry's in hand, watching "The Bachelor." If it's a drug, I'm officially addicted. Sure, sure, I watch it for the comedy (and there's a lot of it - remember the bad math? the national anthem?). But I also cheered a little when Andy saw past Stephanie South Carolina's big boobs and kicked her to the curb this week, and I've caught myself having several conversations since then about whether Tessa, Stephanie Kansas or Danielle will end up with the final rose. It's hard for me to justify why I love this show so much, so I'm asking those of you who share this sickness to do it for me in the comments below. On your marks, get set, defend!

Defend This Show: "Dog the Bounty Hunter"

I was delighted to read that "Dog the Bounty Hunter" - A&E's addictive reality show about a bounty hunter named Dog and his impossibly large-bosomed wife - will return for its fourth season on April 10. One of my favorite guilty pleasures, this show might be described as a modern-day white-trash superhero tale set in Hawaii. Spend a few hours with ex-con biker Duane "Dog" Chapman and his captivating clan, and you'll learn more about the bail bonds business than you ever thought possible.

Last year, Dog, his son Leland, and his cohort Tim got into some trouble in Mexico after apprehending a famed fugitive named Andrew Luster. So we'll get to see that drama unfold in Season 4, as well as the usual crime-fighting subplots. Anyway, I'm really curious to know if anyone else watches this show, so I'm devoting the latest Defend This to "Dog the Bounty Hunter." Defend This: Ryan Seacrest

Why is Ryan Seacrest famous? No, really. Why is this short man with the funny haircut and the cheesy smile hosting the most-watched TV show in America, doing red carpet coverage at Hollywood's biggest events and generally making his presence inescapable?

This is a dude who looks tiny compared to most of the female "Idol" contestants, who flashed his underwear at the Academy Awards, whose idea of a signature catchphrase is "Seacrest out." He's so forced, so hyper, so everywhere. Yet lots of people obviously find him charming, because he's the face of "Idol" and E! News and could well be the next Dick Clark. Frankly, I'm tempted to agree with Esquire's conclusion that he must be the devil incarnate.

Why didn't Seacrest go the way of Dunkleman after the first season of "Idol"? Why must we still care about his sexuality, his fashion choices, his awkward moments with Simon Cowell? Tell me, Seacrest fans, what exactly is the appeal?

Defend This Movie: Gladiator

We all love things that others love to hate, whether it's a Counting Crows CD you can't get rid of or your "Degrassi Junior High" boxed set. Now I'm giving you a chance to explain yourselves in a new feature called Defend This.

In honor of the fast-approaching 2007 Oscars, I'm devoting this week's Defend This to a recent Best Picture winner that I find baffling: Ridley Scott's Gladiator. Not only did this movie take the top prize at the 2001 Oscars, but Russell Crowe also won Best Actor, beating out Ed Harris for Pollock and Javier Bardem in Before Night Falls. More tragically, what was basically a mediocre action movie set in ancient Rome beat out the far worthier Traffic and Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon.

Now, I know many of you are probably saying to yourselves, "Hey, I liked Gladiator!" Great! But can you justify its winning a Best Picture Oscar? If so, tell me below. Now, on your marks, get set, defend!

Defend This Album: Pink Floyd's The Wall

This week, I'm calling all you Pink Floyd lovers out there to defend the band's 1979 double-album The Wall. I, for one, have spent many hours arguing the merits of this album - from the school-kid choirs to the bizarre WWII imagery and even Roger Waters' self-indulgent songwriting.

But while it's cool to like Piper at the Gates of Dawn or "Wish You Were Here," it takes a pretty devoted fan to stare down the mobs of music snobs who make fun of The Wall. So, if you're feeling up to it ... on your marks, get set, defend!

What's Buzzworthy? Guilty-Pleasure '80s Movies

Defend This Show: "Men in Trees"

OK, I admit that my main reason for not watching "Men in Trees" is that I think the title is lame. ("Thanks for watching 'Chimps at Sunrise' on the Discovery Channel. Next up, 'Men in Trees.'") And my second reason is that I still think of star Anne Heche as that girl who dated Ellen and then went nuts. I haven't actually seen an episode, and yet all season I've been rolling my eyes at the show, calling it a low-rent "Northern Exposure" or a "Sex and the City" clone deported to Alaska.

But now I'm actually hearing some good things about it. "Men in Tress" has moved into the time slot after "Grey's Anatomy." It's getting decent ratings. It even has a character named Buzz, for pete's sake. And yet I still can't get over the hump and tune in. So, "Men in Trees" fans: What's the deal with this show? On your marks, get set, defend!

"I Ruined Everything"

First off, I need to say that I completely understand that all the things that happened to me were my own fault and I need to work on myself.

I have been with my BF for a year now and I am in love with him. He also (used to) tell me he is madly in love with me. Through this year I have seen some strange behavior from him, indicating that he was cheating on me. And add to these the strange feeling that sometimes hit me that he is cheating for sure. But NEVER did I have an actual proof.

So every time this happened, I acted like a 15 year old and confronted him. The first few times he defended himself and told me how he loved me and would never do anything to hurt me and would never cheat on me, after some time he got mad but still tried to prove me wrong and not let me go.

But this time, he is changed. And this time the signal that he was cheating and his strange behavior and unmatched words were stronger than ever. He said things that even a 5 year old could tell he is lying. But still, I couldn't prove it and he could brush my words off with just any excuse. This time he did not try to calm me down, he was furious and told me he is tired. Told me that I wasn't perfect myself and I have phobia from people hurting me and when problems come I act like a toddler.

His behavior and his not trying to win me back and his coldness making me believe that he must be seeing someone and heading off to something serious and that's why he is not trying to fix things. It's stupid, I know. But I am stupid.

I don't know how to fix things now, I tired to break things off, because no matter what he said, I still think he is cheating. But again, he accused me of leaving when a problem shows up between us. I thought maybe by apologizing and confessing to my fears, mistakes and insecurities, maybe he would come back and stop being so cold to me. But he didn't. He is as cold as a stone and this is so new to me. I am so used to seeing him worshiping me and pampering me all the time. I can't take this anymore. And if I want to leave and work on myself, he would call me a quitter.

I know I ruined a wonderful loving relationship. He used to call me flawless and say I am the most easy going and charming. We used to worship our memories together, but last night he told me I ruined everything for him.

What should I do? About not trusting him? About believing that he is lying? And about him being distant? About hurting him? How should I fix things?

Is there anything I could do if I want this relationship to work again? Should I let him be for now, to clear his head and wait for him to call and come back? Or should I show up and tolerate his cold behavior in hope that he will be back soon?
