Our favorite game show, talk show, and soap-opera stars attended the 38th Daytime Emmy Awards last night, and it was a bittersweet night for fans of canceled soaps All My Children and One Life to Live. Last night was the end of an era for AMC star Susan Lucci, who's played Erica Kane since 1970 and has been a staple at the awards show since its inception. Despite having been nominated for her AMC role 21 times at the awards show, she only won the title of outstanding lead actress in a drama series once, in 1999. To say goodbye to the Daytime Emmy Awards icon, let's look back at Susan Lucci's best moments at the show through the years.

The 2007 Daytime Emmy Award Winners

Everyone will miss dear old Bob Barker now that he's officially done hosting "The Price Is Right," but perhaps the pathway is cleared for someone else to win the Daytime Emmy for Outstanding Game Show Host, since Barker just took home his 19th award. Another popular winner at the 34th Annual Daytime Emmy Awards this year was "Sesame Street," which won Outstanding Pre-School Children's Series along with two awards for Outstanding Performer in a Children's Series (Elmo and Oscar the Grouch). Hey, it's not your favorite kids' educational program for nothing.

Happily, "The Ellen Degeneres Show" won not once, but twice - taking home awards for Outstanding Talk Show Host as well as for Outstanding Talk Show. Paula Deen also took home two awards, for both Outstanding Lifestyle Program ("Paula's Home Cooking") and Oustanding Lifestyle Host. I like Paula well enough, but I think I'm more of a Giada De Laurentiis ("Everyday Italian") kind of gal.

Eric Ripert, Martha Stewart Win Big at Daytime Emmys

Yesterday, the Daytime Emmy awards took place in Las Vegas. While many Food Network favorites, including Rachael Ray, Paula Deen, and Anne Burrell, were nominated, it was PBS's and the Hallmark Channel's cooking shows that walked away with big wins.

Eric Ripert's Avec Eric won the outstanding culinary program award; of the win he tweeted, "Our TV serie #AvecEric won an EMMY for Outstanding Culinary Program last PM Congrats & thank s to everyone in our team & to our supporters."

Martha Stewart also took home a couple of awards: The Martha Stewart Show won the outstanding lifestyle program and Martha was named the outstanding lifestyle/culinary host. Giada De Laurentiis's cooking show, Giada at Home, won for outstanding directing.

Food Network's Leading Ladies Nominated For Daytime Emmys

Having a successful show on the Food Network may not get you industry accolades like the recent James Beard Awards, but it can get you a nod from the National Academy of Television Arts and Sciences. This morning the daytime Emmy Award nominations were announced, and among the nominees are many culinary personalities.

Rachael Ray and Giada De Laurentiis received three nominations each, while Martha Stewart was nominated for two awards. America's Test Kitchen, Avec Eric, Cook's Country, Lidia's Italy, Secrets of a Restaurant Chef, and Paula's Best Dishes will duke it out in the outstanding culinary program category. Semi-Homemade with Sandra Lee is up for outstanding achievement in hairstyling.

Since I'm a huge fan of Anne Burrell, I'm rooting for her to win outstanding lifestyle/culinary host.
