Singer to Watch: Yoav

If you happened to catch Tori Amos on tour last Fall, you may have been treated to a musician named Yoav. Since taking his guitar on the road with Ms. Amos, he's been building up a nice little fan base for himself, but it wasn't until this week that those fans could buy his album.

Charmed and Strange is the debut album from this singer-songwriter. Apparently, most of the beats and effects in his songs are done using only his acoustic guitar, which is probably pretty cool to see live. Raised in South Africa and Israel, he relocated to New York and recorded this album in Oxford and Montreal. His work reflects these global sounds that have influenced his life.

Most of what I've heard gives me the sense he has a keen ear for radio-friendly pop melodies, and his stuff seems ripe for club remixing. I'm still getting used to his sound, though, so to check out a music video for the single "Club Thing" and let me know what you think,

Glee-ful Highlights From Episode "The Spanish Teacher"

Glee goes Latin this week when guest star Ricky Martin stops by to shake it and teach Mr. Schue a thing about Spanish (which, despite being a Spanish teacher, he does not know). A couple more people find out about Finn and Rachel's engagement, though Mercedes and Sam are still far more unclear about their relationship. Sue also announces a highly frightening desire to be a mother while clawing at the chance to be a tenured teacher.

There are some fun numbers this week, but they couldn't distract from the fact that this episode is all over the place. A couple of the subplots are just plain ridiculous, but it's not totally without its highlights, so let's go over them after the jump.

Glee-ful Highlights From Episode "Michael"

When I heard that Glee was performing a Michael Jackson tribute, I basically starting moonwalking across the floor, but the episode didn't quite live up to my expectations. I definitely appreciated the effort, and there were absolutely some standout performances, but I would have loved more Jackson 5 or old-school Michael disco tunes.

With so many songs crammed in, there's very little in the way of plot here. Basically, the entire episode is about the rivalry between the New Directions and the Warblers, and Sebastian emerges as the show's new villain when he hits Blaine with a jacked-up slushie. No Nature's Miracle? Try This All-Natural Method Instead

I can't rave enough about the wonders of Nature's Miracle when potty training or cleaning pup's playthings. However, truthfully, I haven't stocked a bottle since my pet was a wee babe since he's got the peeing thing down pat. However, many dogs can have a repeat problem with stuff coming out the other end.

Yesterday morning, my poor pooch threw up on his bed and then hid in my bedroom, looking as embarrassed as this doxie. Since I didn't want to deal with laundry right before rushing to work, but also didn't want to let the stain (and smell) set in, I went into my kitchen and grabbed two staples.

Instead of tap water, I scrubbed the area with a small amount of club soda and let it dry while taking a shower. When I got out, I sprinkled the spot with baking soda and headed to work, crating my pup. Jennifer Lopez and Marc Anthony joined forces at the Television Critics Association in Pasadena this morning. They got together to talk about their new reality show, ¡Q'Viva! The Chosen, which J Lo traveled around the world to film last year. It's J Lo's second visit to the TCAs after also sitting down to talk about American Idol with Ryan Seacrest, Randy Jackson, and Steven Tyler. Jennifer's career isn't the only thing keeping her busy lately, since she's been spending a lot of time with boyfriend Casper Smart. J Lo and Casper most recently popped up in Miami, where they celebrated New Year's Eve at a club.

The Bridesmaids Team Talks Male Strippers and a Potential Sequel

Several of the ladies from Bridesmaids and two of the guys behind the scenes - director Paul Feig and producer Judd Apatow - stopped by the press room after picking up their award for best comedy at tonight's Critics' Choice Awards. Kristen Wiig wasn't on hand to join her costars, but her writing partner Annie Mumolo got a moment in the spotlight as the group stopped to chat with reporters backstage. The team, which also included Maya Rudolph, Ellie Kemper, and Wendi McLendon-Covey, addressed rumors of a Bridesmaids 2 and dished on a bonding trip the women took to a male strip club. Judd kicked things off by giving one reporter a friendly ribbing when he asked if the cast ad-libbed on set.

Judd on a possible sequel: "Bridesmaids 2! Now we're getting to the meat of this. Will we ad lib on Bridesmaids 2? No. We will consider it. We'll have some meetings and see if we can afford it. Bridesmaids 2. I mean, maybe if we come up with an amazing idea . . . . Well, we're busy right now writing Caddyshack 3."

Maya on her reaction to the win: "I feel pretty fantastic. I don't think anyone behind me that's looking at my butt right now would disagree, because the truth is, this movie is indeed special. So the way people have responded to this movie was above and beyond our expectations . . . We all love each other and each others' work a lot and we all know how deserving the other person is."

Annie on the cast's visit to a male strip club: "Kristen had a say in that as well, but yeah, we just thought it would be a good place to kind of break the ice, get people loose, and it's funny, because people really did come out of their shells when the men came out and took off their clothes. There were lots of theme attires, and oil, and rubbing. There was rubbing."

If your New Year's resolution is to get fit, chances are you might be shopping around for a gym or fitness center, which is not as easy as it sounds. Here's criteria you should try to check off before signing up for any gym membership.
