Michael Symon Lobbies to Keep LeBron James in Cleveland

At the end of this basketball season, NBA legend and Cavaliers small forward LeBron James will officially be a free agent, with the potential for other cities, like New York, to come knocking. But Cleveland dwellers - including celebrity chef Michael Symon - won't let LeBron go without a fight.

On his Facebook page, the Iron Chef offered to go James's house once a month and cook, Iron Chef-style, for his family and friends, should he decide to stay with the Cavs. "I will always be a fan, mainly because I know firsthand what a class act you are," he said. Even though I've never been to Cleveland, I have to respect chef Symon for his local pride.

If you've been following the story of Cleveland's alleged serial killer Anthony Sowell, you know it's horrific. Eleven female bodies have been found in and around the man's home, leaving the public wondering how could these crimes go on undetected for years. Writing in the Daily Beast, Cleveland journalist Mansfield Frazier says he knows why: Sowell was able to kill drug-addicted women without anyone noticing because the war on drugs targets women. Cleveland: Future Host of the 2014 Gay Games

While America's first family arrives in Denmark with hopes of bringing the 2016 Olympic Games home to Chicago, Cleveland, OH, has just been awarded the 2014 Gay Games! The sports and cultural event should attract more than 10,000 athletes, along with spectators ready to spend millions of dollars. In fact, the games can generate up to $80 million in economic impact.

The Gay Games were started in 1982 by US Olympic decathlon competitor Tom Waddell, who has since lost his battle with AIDS. The event's philosophy is that "doing one's personal best should be the paramount goal in any athletic endeavor." Anyone can participate, regardless of his or her sexual orientation or skill level, and competitors represent their cities, not their countries.

Cities like New York and San Francisco have hosted the Gay Games, but it's fun to see a less predictable location choice like Cleveland. Would you check it out?

Fox Announces Family Guy Spinoff: Cleveland

It looks like Cleveland Brown, neighbor to Family Guy's Peter Griffin, will be the star of his own show. Family Guy creator Seth McFarlane, along with Cleveland's voice actor Mike Henry and former Simpsons writer Rich Appel are collaborating on the project, tentatively titled Cleveland.

As Hollywood Reporter puts it, "Cleveland, who plays off black stereotypes, is the most levelheaded among Griffin's trio of friends." That's for sure. In fact, I'm probably more likely to tune into this spinoff than I am to watch Family Guy these days, as I sometimes get tired of Peter Griffin's outrageousness.

Cleveland seems like an ideal choice for a show's main character; as the gentle, slow-speaking, everyman, there's probably a lot of funny stuff to be found in his life.

Out and About: Ohio's Cleveland Metroparks Zoo

The Help's Win, Love For 30 Rock and Modern Family, a Scorsese Drinking Game - Highlights From the SAG Awards!

Michelle Williams was the first presenter at this evening's SAG Awards, handing the outstanding supporting actor statue to Christopher Plummer from Beginners. Octavia Spencer took home the corresponding statue for her work in The Help.

On the TV end, Alec Baldwin squealed with delight when he was named best actor in a comedic series, and an especially stunned Betty White, from Hot in Cleveland, dedicated her prize to her leading ladies Wendie Malick, Valerie Bertinelli, and Jane Leeves. The child actors from Modern Family, Ariel Winter, Rico Rodriguez, and Nolan Gould, got a chance to take the podium when their series won outstanding cast in a comedy. Miniseries accolades went to two absent stars, Kate Winslet for Mildred Pierce and Paul Giamatti for Too Big to Fail.

Bridesmaids' Maya Rudolph, Kristin Wiig, and Melissa McCarthy brought some comedic relief when onstage introducing their film as a contender in the best ensemble category. The trio came to the stage armed with vodka, beer, and champagne, and introduced a drinking game based around the word "Scorsese." Jessica Lange then followed up on her Golden Globes win with another victory in the category of best dramatic actress on a TV series for American Horror Story. Steve Buscemi won an Actor for his leading role on HBO's Boardwalk Empire. TV ensemble in a drama honors went to Steve's whole cast, giving him an additional opportunity to invoke his producer Martin Scorsese's name as an excuse for a drink.

There was a slight upset in the best actor in a film category - The Artist's Jean Dujardin beat out Leonardo DiCaprio, Brad Pitt, Demián Bichir, and George Clooney. Viola Davis claimed the best female actor in a motion picture for The Help, and beamed from the stage in her Marchesa gown. Further acclaim went to the cast of Viola's movie, with their Actor statues being handed off by none other than Brad Pitt. Well folks, we're one step closer to the close of award season. The SAG Awards were handed out tonight, with some expected winners and a few that raised eyebrows. The Help won big, with trophies for Octavia Spencer, Viola Davis, and the entire ensemble for the night's biggest honor. Meanwhile, Jean Dujardin represented The Artist, and The Descendants went home empty-handed for the first time.

On the television side of things, Boardwalk Empire was a favorite for the second year in a row, while Alec Baldwin, Modern Family, and Betty White were the big winners in comedy.
