Check Out Michael Cera's New Web Comedy

By now you know I love Michael Cera, aka George Michael Bluth from "Arrested Development." In addition to starring in this summer's Superbad, the 18-year-old has teamed up with his friend Clark Duke for Clark and Michael, an online-only Web comedy for CBS.

The first short episode went online this week, and it's pretty good - very dry humor in the style of "Arrested Development" or some of the wackier Comedy Central shows of recent years. The show is styled as a documentary about two young Hollywood wannabes trying to sell their first script, acting savvy but really having no clue what they're doing. Clark and Michael have roped some older, wiser comedic actors into the project, as well: The first episode has cameos by Tony "Buster Bluth" Hale and Comedy Central regular Eric Wareheim.

New episodes will go up every Wednesday until, as Clark and Michael wrote on their MySpace page, they run out of episodes. Fair enough. If you check it out, let me know what you think. Announcing the 2012 Grammy Award Nominations

For the second year in a row, the Recording Academy has given a hip-hop artist the most Grammy nominations. Last year, it was rapper Eminem with eight, and this year, Kanye West leads the nominees with seven chances at the golden gramophone, including a song of the year nod for "All of the Lights." West is also nominated twice in the rap album of the year category for his collaboration with Jay-Z on Watch the Throne and his own album, My Beautiful Dark Twisted Fantasy. Brit crooner Adele wasn't far behind Kanye, picking up six nominations for her album 21, as well as a shot at song of the year with "Rolling in the Deep."

Bruno Mars also did well, racking up six nominations (that's down one from last year for those keeping track), while newcomers like Nicki Minaj and dubstep artist Skrillex are up for the best new artist category. There goes another staple in award season - the Grammys are a wrap! The night was chock-full of performances from standouts like Justin Bieber and Lady Gaga, but there were a few statuettes passed out between songs.

Muse frontman Matt Bellamy took the opportunity to thank his "beautiful pregnant girlfriend" Kate Hudson while accepting the trophy for best rock album, and Lady Gaga gave props to Whitney Houston in her acceptance speech for best pop album. Lady Antebellum scored big with five golden gramophones, but it was Arcade Fire that won the biggest award of the night, taking home the accolade for album of the year.

James Beard Awards Kick off With Book, Broadcast, & Journalism Awards

The best of the best of the nation's food world glitterati are in New York this weekend for the industry's Oscars, the James Beard Awards. Although the main ceremony doesn't take place until later this evening, the events kicked off on Friday with the announcement of the book, broadcast, and journalism awards.

Thursday Comic-Con Must Sees

Hooray, it's the return of Comic-Con and all the madness that accompanies it! As usual, the show's schedule of events is packed this July 21-24, so we'll attempt to highlight the most exciting must sees. The convention starts with a huge bang on Thursday with the Twilight panel, though there are plenty of other events to add to the Comic-Con itinerary.

Twilight: Breaking Dawn, 11:15 a.m.-12:15 p.m. - Hope you've already been camping out for this one, because fans began lining up days in advance. Expect new footage from the next Twilight film and a cast Q&A. Location: Hall H
Kinect Star Wars panel, 10-11 a.m. - First announced at E3, Kinect studio head Jorg Neumann and LucasArts lead producer Craig Derrick will share fresh news on the game, including a mystery announcement. All attendees will receive a limited-edition poster! Location: Room 32AB
Stan Lee, Yoshiki, and Todd McFarlane, 1-2 p.m. - Comic fans unite for the Q&A session with legends Stan Lee and Todd McFarlane, who are creating a new character, Blood Red Dragon, with rockstar Yoshiki. Location: Indigo Ballroom, Hilton San Diego Bayfront
Warner Premiere: H+ and Mortal Kombat: Legacy, 2-3 p.m. - A Comic-Con exclusive first look at H+, the new web series from X-Men producer Bryan Singer. They'll discuss their inspiration, current film work, and how technology is changing cinematic storytelling. Location: Hall H
Her Universe: What Women Want in Their Female Sci-Fi Heroes, 6-7 p.m. - Gone are the days of the "damsel in distress" sci-fi character (we hope). If you can't get into Hall H, check out the panelists with a background on Star Wars, Smallville, DC Comics, Universal Cable Productions, and Lost discuss the future of strong female characters in the genre. Location: Room 25ABC
History of the Modern Zombie, 7-8 p.m. - Beginning with the classic horror film Night of the Living Dead, zombies have become a large part of modern pop culture. Panelists including the author of Zombie Survival Guide, a UC Berkeley professor, and a Harvard Medical School psychiatrist will discuss the history of zombies in entertainment and why we're so interested in them. Consider it the most fun college lecture you'll ever attend. Location: Room 7AB

If the conclusion of Top Chef All-Stars has brought about symptoms of foodie reality TV withdrawal, sit tight, because the Food Network's Next Food Network Star is back with a vengeance.

The seventh season, which premieres Sunday, June 5, at 9 p.m., is the network's most star-studded yet and features celebrated figures from Alton Brown to Michael Symon to Ina Garten. Among the challenges? Performing live on the Rachael Ray Show, catering the Guy Fieri-headlined All American Food Festival, and competing head to head in Kitchen Stadium, Iron Chef America-style.

Casting Update: Who's in For Man of Steel

The principal cast of Man of Steel, Zack Snyder's new Superman movie, is getting more exciting by the week. We've known for months that The Tudors star Henry Cavill had nabbed the lead role, with Amy Adams beating out tons of other actresses to play his leading lady, but the rest of the characters are still being cast. With all the rumors running rampant, it can be hard to keep track of who's playing who, so here's a rundown on which actors will bring the beloved comic to the big screen in the newest reboot.

British import Henry Cavill will play Clark Kent/Superman. Born Kal-El from the planet Krypton, Superman is an alien who battles evil when he's not disguised as his alter ego, Clark Kent. Clark works as a reporter for The Daily Planet.
Amy Adams will play Lois Lane, Clark's love interest and fellow reporter at The Daily Planet.
Russell Crowe is in talks to star as Jor-El, Superman's birth father.
Kevin Costner will play Jonathan Kent, Superman's adoptive father.
Diane Lane is Martha Kent, Superman's adoptive mom and Jonathan's wife.
Michael Shannon will square off against Superman as the villainous General Zod, the head of the Krypton military.
German actress Antje Traue has been cast as female villain Faora.
Julia Ormond is attached to play Lara, Superman's birth mother.
Laurence Fishburne will play Perry White, Clark Kent's editor at The Daily Planet.
