Holy Dark Knight News, Batman

Another day, another few tidbits of news from the set of The Dark Knight. For starters, remember this guy from The Breakfast Club?

Well, Anthony Michael Hall (a.k.a. "The Brain") is all grown up and has now been cast in The Dark Knight, though apparently he signed a confidentiality agreement and can't reveal which part he's going to play. Rumor has it, however, that he'll be playing Mr. Nygma, a reportedly "good guy," though fans of the Batman comics will know that Mr. Nygma is actually The Riddler. All I know is it would be funniest if Hall reprised his role as Brian the Brain in The Dark Knight. This movie could use some comic relief.

Mattel has also announced that they will be releasing a frenzy of toys, games and puzzles based on The Dark Knight. ComingSoon reports:

Mattel's action figure line will feature Batman and the new Batsuit. Tyco R/C vehicles bring to life the speed and action of the Batmobile and the new Batpod. Additionally, Mattel will release a line of games and puzzles that will capture the film action through board games, puzzles and a special-edition UNO card game.

A special-edition UNO game! I'm so there.

Julie Bowen Brings Her Emmy to the Fox Bash With the Kids of Glee

Fox was another network who organized a big post-Emmys bash last night. It actually hosted the entire telecast, and many of the evening's big winners rolled through along with host Jane Lynch. So You Think You Can Dance host Cat Deeley sparkled on her way inside, where many of the Glee cast, like a Marchesa-clad Lea Michele, were letting loose. Modern Family winner Julie Bowen had the support of her on-screen daughter Sarah Hyland, who changed out of her custom-made Christian Siriano gown into something shorter and ruffly. Joseph Gordon-Levitt Talks "Fun" The Dark Knight Rises Shoot and Working With Christopher Nolan at TIFF

Joseph Gordon-Levitt stopped off at the Toronto Film Festival this week straight from work on the highly secretive set of The Dark Knight Rises. We sat down to chat with him during the press day for 50/50, and, while our whole interview is yet to come, here's a sneak peek at what he could vaguely reveal about filming the latest Batman movie. JGL has been extremely tight lipped about his role in the project, but he did gush for a moment about how much fun he's been having on set and how much he enjoys working with director Christopher Nolan. Buzz Blabber: Hunger Games Teaser Disappoints

A lot of famous musicians took to the MTV VMA stage this week, but it was the teaser trailer for The Hunger Games that aired during the show that got you guys talking. You guys also had a lot to say about the legion of mini me Britney Spears dancers that participated in the Vanguard award tribute to the pop star, as well as the latest episode of True Blood, which ran during the same night as the VMAs.
