Celebrities and Circuses Go Hand in Hand for NBC and ABC

Hey, look! Up in the sky! It's someone vaguely famous on a flying trapeze!

ABC and NBC are both looking to air celebrity circuses this year, with stars performing their own versions of classic big top acts. NBC's Celebrity Circus includes professional circus entertainers who will judge the tiger-training, trapeze-flying stars. ABC, meanwhile, is looking to revive the '80s spectacle Circus of the Stars, which featured a host of celebrities including Scott Baio, Jennie Garth, and even Lucille Ball.

I just watched some clips of the original Circus of the Stars, and it's incredibly bizarre; how did I miss this show the first time around? I never thought I'd see Weird Al Yankovic climb one of those tall poles that wobbles in the air or Rebecca Arthur from Perfect Strangers perform a trapeze act, but, well, now I have. NBC's reality TV director has said the circus shows will hook people "like flypaper," and it does seem addictive in that "what will they do next?" kind of way. So, I suppose it's time to start guessing who will appear on this year's circuses. Danny Bonaduce? Tara Reid?

Miranda Kerr Plays Ringmaster of a Sexy Halloween Circus

Miranda Kerr gathered her Victoria's Secret ladies together last night for a Sexy Circus Halloween Party at NYC's Catch rooftop lounge. Her fellow Angels Chrissy Teigen and Kate Upton dressed up for the bash, as did former VS model Nicole Trufio and former America's Next Top Model winner Jaslene Gonzalez. One person who did not join in on the fun was Miranda's husband, Orlando Bloom, who joined Mark Ronson at a different event in the Dream Downtown Hotel's Electric Room. Miranda wore a hot vintage outfit, and said, "I wanted to go 1940s circus so I got this gorgeous outfit, which is original. I just thought it would be something fun because I'm Australian and we don't really celebrate Halloween."

Miranda has been extra busy lately in the run-up to next week's annual Victoria's Secret fashion show, which is going down one week from tomorrow. She's also managing her Kora Organics skin care business and recently took to the company's blog to share her gratitude toward its loyal followers. Miranda wrote, "To everyone who has shared their stories with us, thank you so much. . . . I hope you love what we do at KORA Organics. We love what we do and will continue to do it."

The family was spotted leaving the LA service with close friend Camila Alves, who attended with her own children Levi and Vida. The McConaugheys and Reese's family have been close friends for a long time and have even bonded in the past over their love of the Texas Longhorns. Matthew and Camila also attended Reese Witherspoon and Jim Toth's Ojai wedding just a few weeks ago. The holiday was an extra-special one for newlywed Reese, as her movie Water For Elephants hit theaters Friday. It didn't score the number-one spot, which went to Rio, but the circus film costarring Robert Pattinson came in third at the weekend box office.

Robert Pattinson and Reese Witherspoon stepped out onto the red carpet for the world premiere of Water For Elephants in NYC tonight. The film's stars looked gorgeous as they signed autographs for fans and made their way down the press line. Reese wore a white Jason Wu dress while Rob looked especially handsome in a dark suit. We chatted with the duo about working together, with Rob saying that it was Reese who drew him to the project, and Reese sharing about her time in circus school. The costars are focusing on their latest big-screen project now that they've finished up other obligations. Rob just wrapped work on Breaking Dawn, and he celebrated with a party that included costars Kristen Stewart and Taylor Lautner, while Reese is coming off of her honeymoon in Belize with Jim Toth. In between their busy schedules, Rob and Reese got started promoting the movie with a shared cover of Entertainment Weekly. Rob was back in print for a feature in Elle and Reese also got her own spotlight in Vogue. Their work has just begun though, since Rob and Reese both have multiple press stops to make this week, including the morning show and late night rounds.

Watching the Grammys last night, one of my favorite acts was Pink, not only because she is a gorgeous and strong role model for how your body can look with hard work, but because of her aerial dance moves. Wearing a skin-tight and skin-colored leotard, she spun high above us in the air, singing her heart out and doing acrobatic yoga moves while being cradled in a ribbon of white.
