New Music: Kanye West's "Lost in the World" With Bon Iver

I'm officially excited for Kanye West's new album, Dark Twisted Fantasy, coming this Fall. I've liked each song he's released more than the last, from "Power" to "See Me Now" to his big VMA spotlight of "Runaway," and the pattern is holding strong with his latest. Titled "Lost in the World," it samples one of my favorite indie bands, Bon Iver, and the result is sonic hotness. Buzz Gift Guide: The Best of 2008 For Guys

Welcome back to my Buzz Gift Guide series for all the entertainment lovers in your life. Yesterday I entertained myself, actually, by sorting through all the great pop culture-related t-shirts I'd love to get for the men in my life, and today I'm tackling a bigger project for the guys: the best in music, books, TV, and movies of 2008.

Now, this is by no means a definitive list of the best entertainment stuff that came this year. These are simply gift ideas that I think the lads will like. For example, I think the best piece of writing to come from a TV show this year has to be the tome by How I Met Your Mother's Barney Stinson: The Bro Code. The product description cracks me up:

It was also a great year for movies, and I'd be hard-pressed to think of a guy in my life who wouldn't be thankful to receive The Dark Knight and Hellboy 2 on DVD. As for TV in '08, I honestly don't know many guys who haven't given the FX comedy It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia a chance yet, and my friends who are uber-fans will be gifted the show's DVDs this year. Finally, in regard to music, I know a lot of dudes who are really into the Bon Iver album released this year (me too!) as well as new music from The Hold Steady.

Maya Rudolph returned to SNL this weekend to play host, and she had an extra boost from some famous friends. Not only did fellow alum Amy Poehler show up, but Justin Timberlake checked in, and even sang a song. The catch: he was doing an impression of Bon Iver. Watch as he tries to serenade Beyoncé and Jay-Z's baby Blue Ivy to sleep, along with some other celebrity "guests," like Brad Pitt and Taylor Swift.

Announcing the 2012 Grammy Award Winners

The mood of the Grammy Awards was a bit somber this year in the wake of Whitney Houston's shocking death, but the show went on, and the statues were all handed out to the winners. Adele owned the night, picking up multiple awards, including those for record of the year, album of the year, and song of the year.

The 2012 Grammy Awards were all about Adele's major wins and the sad passing of Whitney Houston. After a kickoff from Bruce Springsteen, host LL Cool J led a prayer for Whitney and gave a look back at some of her stellar Grammys performances. Alicia Keys and Bonnie Raitt honored another late musical star, Etta James, with a song. Bonnie and Alicia also presented best pop solo performance to Adele for "Someone Like You." Adele, who suffered from vocal problems for the last year, appropriately thanked her doctors. Further accolades went to Jay-Z and Kanye West, both absent, for best rap song with "Otis," and Dave Grohl's Foo Fighters picked up best rock performance for "Walk." Bon Iver took home best new artist.

Rihanna and Coldplay teamed up for one of the evening's most memorable duets. Her "We Found Love" segued into Coldplay's "Princess of China" and "Paradise." Another highlight was the long-awaited reunion of the Beach Boys, and they brought back their hit "Good Vibrations" with some help from Adam Levine. Taylor Swift won two honors before the proceedings even began, and later went folksy with her stint behind the mic. Katy Perry, taking a different approach, donned a skintight bodysuit for "Part of Me." Katy changed the words to the track, apparently making a dig at her ex Russell Brand.

Adele was back onstage later in the night with her adorable producer, Paul Epworth, to accept song of the year for "Someone Like You." She made her triumphant return to the microphone with her hit, after a glowing introduction from Gwyneth Paltrow, and received a standing ovation from her big fans like Paul McCartney and Rihanna. The track was also crowned record of the year and her 21 was album of the year! A teary Adele raised her new gold, joked about having a snotty nose, and said to her mother, "Mom, girl did good!"

Jennifer Hudson helped wrap things up with a touching Whitney Houston tribute, belting out "I Will Always Love You." The show was officially closed by Paul McCartney with help from his "friends" like Dave Grohl, Joe Walsh, and Bruce Springsteen. Russell Brand and Katy Perry Split

Russell Brand has filed to divorce Katy Perry in LA today citing irreconcilable differences. He confirmed the news in a statement, saying, "Sadly, Katy and I are ending our marriage. I'll always adore her and I know we'll remain friends." Katy was spotted without her wedding ring while vacationing in Hawaii on Christmas with friends. Meanwhile, Russell was also seen without his wedding band over the holidays in the UK.

Katy resumes touring Jan. 19 in Jakarta, and from there she moves on to Manila before returning to the States for the Feb. 12 Grammy Awards. Katy incorporated video from her top-secret Indian wedding to Brand during last year's Grammy performance while belting out a medley of her hits. She's once again nominated and will face off against Adele, Bon Iver, Bruno Mars, and Mumford & Sons for record of the year.

Stealing Snapshots at Rock Poster Artist Frida Clements's Home

I've been obsessed with Seattle artist Frida Clements's work for some time now. Her style, which encompasses art nouveau-inspired as well as nature-based imagery, looks gorgeous when it's illustrating gig posters for some of my favorite bands, including Bon Iver, Joanna Newsom, Rufus Wainwright, and Spoon, among many others.

When I visited Seattle recently, I asked Frida if I could pop in to take some photos of her home and home studio. She graciously agreed, and when I arrived, I was treated to a warm, cozy, and lovely home dotted with art and nostalgic remembrances. Keep reading to get a peek at Frida's home, as well as her studio.
