Buzz In: What is Your Favorite Old-School TV Show?

TV Land, home to classics like The Brady Bunch, Three's Company, and Bonanza, is branching out into original comedies. The network just announced that they're developing two scripted shows, titled Hot in Cleveland and Retired at 35. But will people actually flip to the channel to check out this new programming?

Personally, the older shows are the only reason I'd tune into TV Land. I used to be obsessed with I Love Lucy as a kid - I even had a Lucy calendar hanging up in my room. Thanks to Nick at Nite, I could watch it on a regular basis, along with Bewitched, The Dick Van Dyke Show, and Mary Tyler Moore. (I live for Rhoda!) Now, Nick at Nite plays mainly 90s favorites like Home Improvement and Family Matters, so TV Land has become my vintage channel of choice. Hopefully they won't go the way of MTV with music videos and make the older shows completely obsolete - that would just be sad.

Admittedly, I'm a bit of a dork when it comes to classic TV, but tell me, what is your favorite old-school show?

Watching Bewitched on Saturday afternoons was a childhood ritual for me, and I dreamed of being as gorgeous and funny as Elizabeth Montgomery. Sam is still my favorite witch of all time, and if pressed, I might admit to a small crush on poor, sweet, OCD Darren (original Darren, of course, not the second one). But what's even more classic about the show is Sam's gorgeous hair and makeup, which I think is totally timeless. Especially now, with the fashion and beauty vogue of Mad Men (and the huge red lipstick trend for Fall), why not indulge in a little stylish '60s nostalgia? Recast Results: "Bewitched"

For this week's Recast challenge, I asked you to choose a new cast for the old television series "Bewitched" - but no Will Ferrells or Nicole Kidmans allowed. You all came up with some interesting casting decisions; I especially liked WhiplashGirlchild's idea to use real-life married couple Sarah Jessica Parker and Matthew Broderick along with "Everybody Loves Raymond" mom Doris Roberts.

While a little on the younger side, I loved Controlledspin's pick of Sarah Chalke for Samantha, and many of you chose Jim Carrey for Darrin, which seems perfect since Carrey so closely resembles Dick York. And the part of me that grew up on "Who's the Boss" was delighted by Katherine Helmond (Mona) as Endora, chosen by Yiddidea.

Recast "Bewitched"!

Every Wednesday on BuzzSugar, I post a Recast challenge, where I'll ask you to choose new actors for a classic TV show or movie. This week, I thought it would be fun to take on "Bewitched," the delightfully silly sitcom from the 1960s and 1970s about a good-natured witch named Samantha.

This series had quite the revolving cast over the years: Most famously, the role of Samantha's husband Darrin was first played by Dick York and then by Dick Sargent. "Bewitched" was also recently remade as a pretty bad movie starring Will Ferrell and Nicole Kidman. But if you were casting this sitcom today, who would you choose to fill the principal roles?
