Beautiful Boy Trailer: A Harrowing Drama With a Different POV

Usually when movies tackle a teenage murder or school shooting, most of the focus is understandably given to the victims and their families. But one thing I've always wondered about is the gunman's parents and the guilt they're left to live with. The upcoming film Beautiful Boy shifts the story to their perspective.

Michael Sheen and Maria Bello star as a couple whose lives are rocked after receiving the news that their 18-year-old son opened fire at his college, killing students and faculty members before turning the gun on himself. His actions leave the mother and father completely bewildered: what did they do wrong? Was their son a bad person? It creates a strain on them not only as parents but on their marriage as well, as they try to understand their son's behavior and grieve his death. The trailer looks heavy to say the least, but it appears the film also has a message of hope, which should make it more palatable. Take a peek after the jump

According to ComingSoon, America Ferrera will star in the coming-of-age drama An Invisible Sign of My Own, which will be directed by Mad Hot Ballroom's Marilyn Agrelo.
Paramount and Brad Pitt's production company Plan B have picked up the rights to two memoirs, Beautiful Boy and Tweak, Variety reports.
FX has ordered a series about a rebel motorcycle gang from one of the producers of The Shield, reports Zap2it.
Mariah Carey's album remains at the top of the charts for the second week in a row, while Ashlee Simpson is coming in at No. 4, behind Leona Lewis and the Flight of the Conchords album, writes E! Online.

Reuters reports that there's already a book and documentary in the works about New York governor Eliot Spitzer.
Spike TV has given the green light to its first comedy series, The Factory, an improvised show from the co-creator of Strangers with Candy, writes the Hollywood Reporter.
Jonah Hill is in talks to provide the comic relief as Shia's sidekick in the Transformers sequel, writes ComingSoon.

She's much more than just a pretty face! Jessica Alba knew she was on to something when she couldn't find a cute, affordable, and eco-friendly diaper after Honor Marie, 3½, was born. And it looks like other people are on to her now too. Jessica, through her founding of The Honest Company, was just recognized as one of the 100 most creative people in business by Fast Company magazine. The actress, activist, and mom of two (lil Haven is 9 months old) posed in a beautiful photo shoot for the magazine, both with and without her daughters, and spoke about the inspiration for her latest venture. Among the parts of the interview that didn't make it into the magazine were her desire to shake up kiddie design and the obstacles she's overcome to get this far.

On incorporating modern design elements: Your baby is so cute, and you have to put a diaper on, and all of a sudden, it's like, wait, there's a paper bag on my baby's bottom! So once we got the effectiveness of our diapers down, I was like, "Why not make it cool?" I have tattoos, I have piercings, I grew up on MTV, I am a global citizen, I've been connected to the Internet pretty much my whole life; I feel like there's no company that speaks to me as a modern mom. I wanted to appeal to different types of aesthetics out there. So for boys' diapers - my partners thought I was completely cuckoo bananas - but we have skulls on a diaper, because I'm obsessed with Alexander McQueen and he makes skulls beautiful. And they were like, "Skulls on babies? No way!" And it's been one of our number one sellers, because people even like them on their girls, believe it or not. So we had anchors, as well, for the more traditional mom, and gingham.

On the whirlwind of creating a new company: I've been through lots of trials and tribulations, and I've learned a lot, and I now appreciate the uphill battle and struggle, because it forced me to be more tenacious and more focused and more passionate than I ever imagined that I could have been. I think that was probably the biggest lesson that I've learned.

There are only three more episodes left in the second season of Game of Thrones, and this week's episode feels like it's ramping up for an intense last few installments. It's a sad day in the beauty world: Vidal Sassoon has passed away at the age of 84. A visionary hairstylist, Vidal was known for putting his own geometric spin on the classic bob, as well as inventing the five-point cut (which took him nine years to perfect). He also helped to change the careers of actresses Mia Farrow and Nancy Kwan, elevating them to superstar status with the snip of his shears.
