Casa Quickie: Shine Like the Top of the Chrysler Building

In the classic musical Annie there's a great line imitating Miss Hannigan during the "Hard-Knock Life" number that I always think of when I'm mopping the house:"You'll stay up until this floor shines like the top of the Chrysler Building." The image of how that landmark sparkles in the skyline is actually a great motivator for me. But, sadly, the plot, which involves the hard labor of orphans, isn't the nicest thing. But, it turns out that there is a trick to making your floors sparkle just so, and it has nothing to do with child labor or actually mopping.

Song of the Day: Annie, "I Know Ur Girlfriend Hates Me"

While everyone is buzzing about the fun new Madonna album, there's another artist who's also creating some infectious pop songs that you can't help but want to dance to right now. Her name is Annie, she's Norwegian, and I first fell for her upbeat, techno sound a couple of years ago when I heard a song called "Heartbeat."

Her newest song, "I Know Ur Girlfriend Hates Me," is from her upcoming album, Don't Stop, which hits stores in July. The song is adorable and super addicting, and if it's any indication, I think I'll be liking the rest of the album. Stereogum reports that she might cover Stacey Q's "Two Of Hearts" as well as collaborate with Girls Aloud, Franz Ferdinand, and Datarock.

If you haven't heard of Annie before now, I would recommend giving her a spot on your list of artists to keep an eye on. You can listen to the new song here or on Annie's MySpace page, where you can also listen to "Heartbeat."

Minka Kelly continued shooting Charlie's Angels in Miami with her costars Rachael Taylor and Annie Ilonzeh yesterday. She was able to spend downtime on the set reading a magazine in the company of her dog, Chewy, during a break from her busy last few weeks taping in Florida. Minka's longtime boyfriend, Derek Jeter, is also in the Sunshine State focusing on Spring training with the Yankees with his teammate Alex Rodriguez. Derek's team is based in Tampa, a few hours away from Minka's location, but the Self cover model has had plenty of company from her new leading ladies.

After purchasing a gorgeous Buff & Hensman home in August 2010, then-couple Ryan Reynolds and Scarlett Johansson extensively renovated this 1969-era modern gem, adding eco-friendly features including solar panels to the Los Feliz home. After that, as we well know, the couple sadly parted ways, leaving this gorgeous home in real estate limbo.

Now, the home has popped up on the market, listed by Annie Challis of Keller Williams. With extensive glass walls, a saltwater pool, a private master suite, and a beautiful flow throughout the home, which is known as the Wong House, it's a definite catch. How Long Does a Job Listing Stay Open?

If you're a job seeker, you're probably familiar with not hearing any response back from a potential employer, even when you've gone through several rounds. So how long should you wait before really accepting the fact that the company has hired someone else? According to CNNMoney, a job generally stays open for about 45 days. Chris Forman, CEO of StartWire, a site that tracks job apps, tells CNN, "So if you know when the opening was first posted . . . count 45 days from that date, and if you've still heard nothing, you can assume you didn't get it."

And if you have another offer but are still waiting to hear back from the company, executive coach Annie Stevens advises to contact the employer and tell them that you've received another offer. "Frame this as a courtesy to them, and invite them to make a counteroffer," Stevens says.
