AnnaSophia Robb Steps Into Carrie Bradshaw's Stylish Shoes

AnnaSophia Robb spent a working weekend in NYC on the set of The Carrie Diaries. The actress went through a number of costume changes from Thursday to yesterday as she got into character as Carrie Bradshaw. The 17-year-old plays a young version of the famed Sex and the City character in the new CW series. In signature Carrie style, she's been seen sporting curls on the set, and last week, toted a graffiti-style handbag tagged with her character's name. AnnaSophia has also been spotted shooting scenes with her costar and onscreen friend Freema Agyeman, as well as Brendan Dooling, who is apparently playing her love interest in the series. The Carrie Diaries isn't set to air until the Fall, but in the meantime, check out three things to know about the new Carrie Bradshaw.

Carrie Bradshaw is coming back to TV next Fall - but not as the sex columnist we all know and love. The Carrie Diaries will follow Miss Bradshaw through her teen years, and from the looks of this picture, she caught the fashion bug pretty early on. Here's the first official image of AnnaSophia Robb as Carrie, in what's an obvious nod to the ensemble that Sarah Jessica Parker rocks in the opening credits of Sex and the City. Robb looks pretty adorable set against the NYC backdrop, and she's definitely rocking Carrie's signature curls. How do you feel about Carrie 2.0?

AnnaSophia Robb Makes Her Debut as a Young Carrie Bradshaw

The highly anticipated Sex and the City prequel, The Carrie Diaries, began filming in NYC yesterday with AnnaSophia Robb assuming the starring role of Carrie Bradshaw. The show follows a teenage Carrie, made famous by Sarah Jessica Parker in the original series, before she crossed paths with three memorable friends and found success in the Big Apple.

SJP is passing the torch to AnnaSophia and sent along an encouraging letter of support. For her part AnnaSophia knows there will be comparisons made between the two Carries, but says, "The show is more for my generation, but it's set in the '80s, so it's fun."

Salvatore Ferragamo celebrated the launch of its new fragrance, Signorina, with a big, pink, star-studded bash in NYC last night. Kate Mara, Emma Roberts, and Chrissy Teigen were among the guests who stepped out to take in the girlie soiree at Manhattan's famously bright Palazzo Chupi building. AnnaSophia Robb, who is the new Carrie Bradshaw in The Carrie Diaries, also posed in front of the flower-covered step and repeat. The party featured cotton candy, strawberry marshmallows, a giant pink chandelier, and blush-colored balloons all over to compete the look. Chrissy was coming from a screening of The Hunger Games, and right after seeing the film she tweeted her quick review, calling it unexpectedly "great."

Carrie Bradshaw is coming back to TV - the younger version of her, anyway. The CW has been planning on bringing Sex and the City prequel The Carrie Diaries to its lineup, and it has finally cast the role that Sarah Jessica Parker made famous. AnnaSophia Robb will play the young Carrie Bradshaw in the 1980s-set series, which will follow the young fashionista's life in high school.

The Soul Surfer star might not bear the most striking resemblance to Parker, but she was certainly on our mind when news about The Carrie Diaries first came out, because we suggested her for the role. What do you think of Robb's casting as young Carrie?

Carrie Underwood Is Ready For Her Big Screen Close-Up

Taylor Swift may have stolen the spotlight from country cuties everywhere this year, but Carrie Underwood is right on her blond trail. The former American Idol is taking a page out of Swift's book and making a move to the silver screen in the upcoming indie drama, Soul Surfer.

The movie is based on the autobiography of Bethany Hamilton, a dedicated young surfer who lost her arm in a shark attack but still went on to beat the odds and win championships. Helen Hunt, Dennis Quaid, and AnnaSophia Robb will also star, with Underwood set to play a church youth leader.

I'm kind of relieved that Underwood will be playing a supporting character - not that I don't have any faith in her acting skills, but pop stars don't always succeed when they try to dive right into leading roles (that's right, Glitter, I'm looking at you). I can definitely see Underwood being well suited to the movie biz, though, and to be perfectly honest, I'm kinda surprised it took this long to happen.

Charlize Wears Two Hats and Sleepwalks

Charlize Theron got all done up and looked gorgeous in Lanvin for the premiere of Sleepwalking in LA last night, where she walked the red carpet with Audrina Patridge and costars Nick Stahl and Dennis Hopper. It was a pretty special occasion for Charlize, because she both starred in and produced the film. She told Entertainment Tonight, "I like all aspects of this industry; I feel so fortunate to be in this industry and get to do this, and there are so many other ways of being creative other than being in front of the camera. I love acting, and I also love this, so who knows."
