Hey, all you fans of Fight Club author Chuck Palahniuk — the trailer from the movie adaptation of his fourth book Choke is tonally what one might expect from him: quite dark and post-modern in its despair, with an odd, social outcast as the main character. Oh, and funny, of course. Also, just like Fight Club, there are group therapy scenes as this character is a bit of a sex addict.

- "Desperate Housewives" has found its desperate house-husbands — and it's not David Beckham and Robbie Williams, as rumored (gee, who would have thought that was a lie?). The actual couple will be portrayed by Tuc Watkins and Kevin Rahm. Watkins, of "One Life to Live," will play Bob, a country boy seeking solace from the city; Rahm, of "Judging Amy," will play his partner, Lee.
- Anjelica Huston will guest-star on "Medium" this season, appearing in six of the show's episodes.

We'd been speculating for a while about who'd be on the list, and now we know: Mad Men indeed got a lot of love, with nominations in the Outstanding Drama Series category and several of the acting categories (though I'm sad to see the show's women shut out), while Pushing Daisies and Samantha Who? were the two new network series to break through.

As this year's Sundance Film Festival came to a close this weekend, some movies found their way into studio hands while others were honored with awards. By now some of these are familiar names (Choke, The Wackness, American Teen) while others are just now coming into the spotlight. Check out some of the awards and acquisitions:
- Sony Pictures Classics acquired the rights to The Wackness for under $2 million, the odd little film starring Ben Kingsley and Mary-Kate Olsen.

The premise for Martian Child is almost unbearably adorable: a sci-fi writer adopts a little boy who thinks he is from Mars. The writer is a lonesome widower searching for meaning in his life. The little boy is an odd duck outcast with a tendency to steal things.
