Was the Right Contestant Voted Off of American Idol?

Michael Lynche may have sealed his fate on Tuesday night when he admitted that he was only focused on getting to the top 3: his American Idol time ran out when he was eliminated from the competition last night. I've got to hand it to the guy - he made it through four more rounds after the judges gave him the save back in April.

Still, his elimination seems timely to me; I never really saw him in the final two. He even said on Tuesday night that he wasn't quite focused on winning the competition just yet. Before we take that next step into the Idol home stretch, weigh in: was it time for Big Mike to go?

Though American Idol was all about giving back this week (with many a celebrity in sight), one more contestant was taken out of the competition. After doing his best to inspire us on Tuesday night, Tim Urban got the short end of the stick this week. I actually think Tim should be proud of himself - he lasted much longer than anyone expected. On the other hand, I'm not sure I agree with America's decision that he was the worst singer of the week. What do you think - was it Tim's time?

Did Michael Deserve to Be Saved on American Idol?

Michael Lynche found himself facing elimination on last night's episode of American Idol after the top nine performed Beatles hits on Tuesday. I was admittedly pretty shocked to see Michael get the axe over Andrew (or even Aaron and Tim, for that matter), but the judges made up for it by using the one save of the season. Do you think that Michael deserved to be spared?

Aaand we're down to 10! The bottom three of this week's American Idol had two contestants who also appeared in last week's: Tim and Paige. Katie joined them, but only briefly, and in the end, it was Paige who got the hook - without even getting a chance to be saved.

I was hardly shocked, as the judges had called it terrible. Do you think America kicked off the right person?

Now that American Idol is down to the top 12, there's only one contestant getting the boot each week. The bottom three - Lacey, Paige, and Tim - wasn't a big shocker, but I do think that Tim's looks may have helped him squeak by this week. In the end, Lacey was the first casualty of the single-elimination round. Do you think the right contestant was voted off?

Well, the American Idol top 12 have finally been revealed! After last night's elimination we'll finally go back to two nights of competition with the boys and girls mixed together. It was an emotional night with a lot of tears (poor Alex Lambert had the whole house choked up!), but I can't wait for the competition to go to the next level.
