After the first single-elimination week on American Idol, the bottom three was dominated by ladies. Karen and Haley were spared after some time in the hot seats, but Ashthon had to sing for her life (and erupted in tears). Though the judges gave Ashthon a second chance last week, she wasn't so lucky this time around.

I had a feeling that Ashthon was in trouble, and the majority of you had the same premonition. Now that all is said and done, do you think the right contestant was voted off?

America, we're heading to the finals! Casey James was eliminated from American Idol last night, leaving just Crystal Bowersox and Lee DeWyze to duke it out for the crown next week. I've always been a fan of Casey's, but I predicted the top two weeks back, and sadly knew it was only a matter of time for Kara's favorite eye candy. Though I'm looking forward to the final showdown, I have to admit that I'll miss Casey. Do you think it was his time to get the boot?

Michael Lynche may have sealed his fate on Tuesday night when he admitted that he was only focused on getting to the top 3: his American Idol time ran out when he was eliminated from the competition last night. I've got to hand it to the guy - he made it through four more rounds after the judges gave him the save back in April.

Still, his elimination seems timely to me; I never really saw him in the final two. He even said on Tuesday night that he wasn't quite focused on winning the competition just yet. Before we take that next step into the Idol home stretch, weigh in: was it time for Big Mike to go?

And then there were four. On last night's American Idol, Aaron Kelly was sent packing despite decent comments from the judges on Tuesday night. It just goes to show that the competition is really in America's hands at this point - I totally expected Crystal or Casey to be on the chopping block after giving mediocre performances this week. That said, I never saw Aaron taking it to the finals. What's your take - did Aaron deserve to get the boot?

Though Siobhan Magnus gave her best performance in weeks during her Shania Twain performance on Tuesday night, she was eliminated from the competition this week. I have to admit I was a little shocked by the decision, especially since the judges gave her pretty decent feedback. The competition is really heating up now, with only five contestants remaining. So, what's your take - was Siobhan's time up?

Though American Idol was all about giving back this week (with many a celebrity in sight), one more contestant was taken out of the competition. After doing his best to inspire us on Tuesday night, Tim Urban got the short end of the stick this week. I actually think Tim should be proud of himself - he lasted much longer than anyone expected. On the other hand, I'm not sure I agree with America's decision that he was the worst singer of the week. What do you think - was it Tim's time?

American Idol brought the drama last night when not one but two contestants got the boot. Despite giving their best Elvis impersonations on Tuesday night, Katie Stevens and Andrew Garcia just didn't make the cut. Andrew's days were definitely up, but I was kinda surprised to see Katie go after her decent performance. Still, I didn't expect either to make it to the end of the competition, so it feels like we've trimmed some of the fat this week. What do you think - did America make the right call?

After the top 10 performed this week, Didi Benami was sadly sent packing in the American Idol elimination round. I have to say, though I knew Didi's days were numbered, I definitely thought Tim would go before her. What do you think - was the right contestant voted off American Idol?

Which Eliminated Idol Contestant Will You Miss the Most?

Well, another four bit the dust on American Idol this week. We're slowly narrowing down the competition, but once again I wasn't overly surprised by who got the axe. Except for Michelle, the eliminated contestants just didn't deliver this week. How sad was it watching Haeley sing the all-too-apropos "The Climb" to end the show? Now that we're down to 16, which contestant do you think deserved another chance?

American Idol Elimination: And Our Finalists Are . . .

Wednesday night was a big one on American Idol, as we learned which of the final three guys would advance to next week's big finale. Would it be the perpetually safe Danny Gokey? The longtime favorite Adam Lambert? The dark horse Kris Allen? With more than 80 million votes, and only a million between the top two, it was quite a struggle for the final two spots. To talk about who got them, just

So Danny's first time in the bottom was also his last time in the competition. The finale will be a battle between Kris and Adam, while Danny heads home to Milwaukee. And I'm OK with that: Danny's certainly a good singer, but I've been feeling like I've already heard everything he can do, while Adam and Kris (especially Kris, actually) continue to surprise me. Danny has a compelling backstory and enough fans to have kept him safe for 95% of this Idol season, though, and I'm sure there will be a market for his music.

Meanwhile, an Adam/Kris finale is about as shocking as it gets in the Idol universe - neither Pop nor I even had Kris making the top 12. It's nice to see a contestant who didn't get a ton of screen time in the early rounds break through. And while Adam would seem to be the favorite, knowing there were only a million votes between them this week complicates things a bit. Who do you think has the edge going into next week's finale?

Some thoughts on the rest of the show:

Kris's reaction to getting into the finale was great, but it was nothing compared to the judges, who looked genuinely shocked. Simon even did his crazy-eyes "whoa" thing.
Love the animated Danny, Adam, and Kris from the Ford ad. I wonder if you really know you've made it when you become a cartoon.
Whose hometown visit do you think looked like the most fun? Danny's reunion with Jamar was sweet, and Adam's little theater group kids were adorable, but Kris's dad getting emotional was the only one that made me want to cry.
Going back for a second - JAMAR! Love that snappy green tie. I still wish he'd made the live shows.
I'm starting to think Jordin Sparks is my favorite Idol winner after Kelly Clarkson. It's been fun to watch her grow up.
Katy Perry generally bugs me, but with those costumes and backup dancers, I can understand why she might be fun to see live.
