The moment we've all been waiting for has finally arrived: I've been gearing up with my America's Next Top Model quizzes for months, and Bella has been getting in on the excitement with her ANTM faceoff game - and now we finally have our Cycle 13 winner! (Not to mention the first petite champ.) Cue the drumroll and take this one last test to judge your knowledge from the finale.

The competition wasn't as stiff as I had hoped, and I would've liked a few more solid contenders for the No. 1 spot - but we definitely got a mix of some fun personalities. I honestly couldn't decide who I preferred seeing in the last round - Nicole and Laura, Nicole and Jennifer? I don't know about you, but I'm sort of a fan girl for Marisa Miller thanks to the heyday of Victoria's Secret, so I was psyched to see her fill in as guest judge on this week's America's Next Top Model. This episode was all about the water - cliff diving, scuba diving - and some of the girls freaked. Who was able to overcome her fear and move on, and who choked? While it wasn't the most dramatic episode, this week's America's Next Top Model sure was beautifully picturesque. The models flew to the Hawaiian islands, tried out a little surfing, and then posed as a mix of different races. While Bella ranked the high fashion shoot as one of her 15 worst, I thought it was a nice hour of entertainment nonetheless. (Plus, Tyra stepped behind the camera a second time - a first in ANTM's history!) Do you remember everything that went down?

Was it just me or was America's Next Top Model kind of a snooze this week? I miss the over-the-top fantasy glitz of the Cirque du Soleil or martial arts challenges. Not that the judges didn't give the models a tough task - each girl had to interview on camera for The Insider and script her own CoverGirl commercial. There were some major flubs, especially from Erin who had a sob-fest. I found her majorly annoying, but unfortunately she stuck it out till the end. Do you remember who did get sent home? America's Next Top Model Quiz: "We Are Spartans!"

I was going to post a picture collage of the official shoot from last night's episode of America's Next Top Model but come on: How amazing are the models dressed up as Xena-style gladiator types? Especially Whitney, who is looking particularly voluptuous - which is an uncomfortable reminder that her "plus size" looks normal and pretty to me, yet in this world is considered larger than average. Sigh. Yes, I know, sample sizes and . . . stuff.

Anyway, the girls continued on their adventures through Rome complete with gladiator training (which will surely come in handy down the road in their modeling careers). We were treated to a couple of fun Dominique diva rants to the camera, and a few snide Fatima remarks about how bad the other girls are, but without explosive Lauren in the mix everything is mostly kind of dull. Remember how much 'tude and fierceness Jaslene brought to the table that practically fueled that entire "cycle" to its end? I fear this "cycle" is missing that kind of personality oomph at this point.

However, not to fear! Because where there is an obnoxious personality vacuum, you can bet Tyra will be there to fill it. America's Next Top Model Rundown: Episode 1, "Welcome To Top Model Prep"

So, wow. America's Next Top Model has never been accused of being dull, but Tyra and the gang are clearly not resting on their laurels, as they've gathered one of the most - oh, let's call it "spunky" - groups of girls ever this year. If Wednesday's premiere of the 10th cycle of ANTM is any indication, we are in for a season of extremes. For every impassioned sideways-snapping girl, there is an awkward "I just discovered high heels today" young lady to balance it all out.

These girls haven't even dealt with sharing one phone line while sleep-deprived yet, and already we were treated to a roller coaster of emotions, including some spirited debate over what counts as ghetto, verbal sparring that nearly turned physical, and a large group hug resulting from a strangely timed discussion of female genital mutilation. Does Tyra know how to throw a premiere or what? I'm still blown away by how Jerry Springer the whole thing was. Ultimately, it was one of the most entertaining premieres of the show's history by far. The only thing that could have made it better was Nigel.

Tyra and co. took the "prep school" theme all the way, complete with a photo shoot for the girls to get their student IDs. Their education in "high fashion" commenced as they posed in Britney Spears get-ups that included knee socks and plaid skirts.
After Tyra, Jay is supposed to be the authority on all things fierce for the show, so you'd kind of expect him to change up his look from time to time. However, each year like clockwork he shows up looking like a more stylin' Jack Frost. I vote for Jay to get a makeover.
One of my favorite parts of the night was the big pep rally out on a football field complete with "cheerleaders," aka contestants from seasons past. Jay announced they were ready to crown the homecoming queen, and the camera immediately cut to girls saying they hoped they'd be the winner. Fools! If there is one rule to surviving ANTM, it's that Tyra is always the queen! She of course busted through a banner in whacked-out make-up and a giant crown. And the crowd goes wild.
The interviews were the same old, same old. A tragic story here, a lap dance there. A serious ick moment occurred when one of the new moms admitted that she was still breast pumping and was drinking her own milk. The judges then raised actual glasses of milk to her in a toast and drank up - ew!
The best interview moment for me came when one contestant informed the judges that she made a tough decision to leave her -wait for it -Impala to compete on the show. She had big plans to "trick it out" but sometimes you have to make these choices in life.
In the final ceremony of the evening, Tyra chose the 13 that will head to New York with her, including two girls named Amy and Aimee. Apparently, she can't have two people with the same name on the show, so she told them to figure that out. According to the CW, we know that one of them is now "Amis." Wow, what a difference.
In what was kind of a mean twist, Tyra then told the girls that actually, she wants 14 girls because 13 is an unlucky number. So the left-over girls had to stop crying and start rejoicing. Then, Tyra quickly chose one more lady, and the rest went back to crying.

America's Next Top Model Rundown: Episode 5, "The Girl Who Is Afraid Of Heights"

After last week's thrilling makeover episode, this week's America's Next Top Model was actually a bit of a bore. Is it just me, or are they devoting less and less time to the girls interpersonal drama? Maybe these aspiring models just aren't as boozy as some of the older seasons meaning fewer late night antics. So without further ado, here's what went down last night:

Benny Ninja was in full effect last night taking the girls for a trampoline lesson on how to pose while moving before their challenge. The girls were then brought to an ice skating rink and told to convey emotions while being lifted over the ice by an Olympic figure skater. Good times. Overseeing the event was Cycle 7 winner, Dani, who has certainly followed through on those speech lessons. All the girls seemed totally awkward with the challenge, most of all Heather, who kind of froze up whenever the guy tried to lift her. Lisa won, making all the other girls, most especially Ambreal, upset. There were tears, but that is to be expected.

For the actual photoshoot, the girls were brought to the roof of a hotel in downtown LA, where they would be posing (nowhere near the edge, mind you) as "fashion gargoyles." I kid you not. Ambreal was having a bit of a fit, being scared of heights and all, but...wait for it...she overcame her fear. Also, did I mention they didn't seem to be anywhere near the edge? Too bad for her it didn't' do much for her photos. Ebony continued to have no personality, but look great on film while Heather stuck with her tried and true profile shot. Out of nowhere, I think Chantal might have been my favorite and Jenna wasn't so bad herself. Way to go, blondes!

Thankfully Saleisha learned how to hold her head high with that haircut (thereby allowing us to see her face, like, at all). Sarah didn't look great in her shot, nor does she seem to carry herself particularly well, but they're keeping her around for at least another week. I will say, that I love me some Lisa-tude.

Ambreal was in the bottom two, but Janet got the boot. Probably a good call because I literally didn't even know she was on the show until this week.

Next week: my guess is that Sarah or Ebony will be kicked off. Then again, I've never once predicted correctly.

"America's Next Top Model" Rundown: Episode 4, "The Girl Who Goes Bald"

Makeover day is when "America's Next Top Model" really gets rolling and last night was hopefully the turning point for this kind of blah season so far. Nothing much happened between the girls this episode, which is possibly for the best since it meant zero of Bianca picking fights with the other girls. That being said, she was still the center of what little drama there was. Here's my take on what went down:

The makeovers were, across the board, good this time (meaning, no DISASTERS like Brittany last season). I especially loved Chantal and...Bianca's. I know that Ken Paves gave her an extra special wig after they had to shave off her hair, but she looked stunning with that buzzed head! I've never been a fan of her on the show, but I definitely see her potential now that the pink hair is gone. I actually kinda hate Saleisha's new look, but I suppose that's why I'm not Tyra.

For the first challenge the producers had to work in their partnership with CoverGirl. I mean, uh, the girls had to show off their make-up skills. It was pretty pointless, but Sarah won. Yay, Sarah. Sarah is good. As for the real photoshoot, the newly madeover models had to each act like different species of plants. Believe it or not, the resulting pictures are pretty awesome.

The judges were, as usual, enamored with Heather's pictures. They also loved Ebony's photo, but couldn't get past her attitude on panel. And speaking of panel-tude - it was Yaley Victoria's downfall. I understand that she wasn't trying to be an aloof and slightly obnoxious person, but it definitely came off that way. She was always a bit abrasive, which earned her the boot. Saleisha was in the bottom two, which is certainly not going to help her confidence about that haircut.

I'm sure the promos for next week will make it kind of obvious who goes home (they always do...), but right now my guess would be either Chantal or Ebony. Who do you think? Do you think the right girl went home? Who are you liking? Favorite makeover? Why is there so little Tyra this season? Clearly, these are pressing questions.

"America's Next Top Model" Rundown: "The Girl Who Went Rock Climbing"

"ANTM" is getting pretty lazy with their episode titles, eh? This week, wait for it, the photoshoot was on a rock climbing wall! Yeah, they're also running out of ideas for photoshoots...and other competitions. Speaking of which, this episode was all about walking in difficult situations (isn't it always?) and started out with Miss Jay having the girls walk in straight jackets. Perhaps I'm overly sensitive, but the whole thing made me a bit uncomfortable.

As for the competition, the models had to walk in a faux-runway show for Colleen Quen's fancy and difficult-to-maneuver-in gowns, the prize being a chance to walk in Quen's Paris Fashion Week show. Roy Cambell acted as the most awkward runway announcer ev-er for the show. Kinda hilarious. Saleisha won, despite Bianca's many attempts to cut her down including calling her "borderline plus sized." Ugh. Bianca may bring the entertainment factor, but I'm quickly getting tired of her shenanigans.

For the photoshoot, as I mentioned before, the girls were to simulate rock climbing (do not worry, no actual climbing took place) in their couture gowns, stilettos...and harnesses. How cutting edge! How high fashion! How silly.

And about the pictures, Saleisha's shot was good, and daring, though I think she may be getting a bit too into herself. I also liked Victoria's shot, but I always find myself rooting for the smart girls. Tyra was a fan of Bianca's but the other judges didn't like it. For the first time ever, Ty Ty seemed like she was maybe going to make an elimination based on her co-panelists' feelings, but in the end Kimberley got the boot despite, as Tyra kept harping on, her perfect ears. Oh, Tyra.
