George Clooney Pulls Double Duty With a Walk of Fame Event Ahead of the CCMAs

George Clooney stepped out in the LA sunshine to support friend John Wells at his Walk of Fame ceremony this afternoon. John is the Emmy-winning producer behind ER, The West Wing, and others, and he's being recognized after 25 years in the business. Also on hand for the special event were actresses Emmy Rossum and Allison Janney. It's a big day for George since he'll soon hit the red carpet for the Critics' Choice Awards, where he's up for best actor and his The Descendants and The Ides of March are both nominated. Ben Affleck, Anne Hathaway, George Clooney, and More Take Hollywood Film Awards Stage

The Hollywood Film Awards took place last night at LA's Beverly Hilton Hotel, and once the famous guests like George Clooney and Stacy Keibler left the red carpet, the show began inside the ballroom. George was onstage to accept his Hollywood Actor Award from his Descendants costar, Beau Bridges, and humbly told the audience of his award, "I am very lucky. I'm a lucky man." My Week With Marilyn star Michelle Williams, meanwhile, won the female counterpart with the Hollywood Actress Award. Ben Affleck, sporting his long Argo locks, made a special appearance to honor Hollywood Cinematographer Award recipient Emmanuel Lubezki. The men worked together on Terrence Malick's still-untitled upcoming picture.

The many ladies of The Help, including Emma Stone, Allison Janney, Viola Davis, Cicely Tyson, Ahna O'Reilly, Octavia Spencer, Bryce Dallas Howard, and Mary Steenburgen were together to accept the Hollywood Ensemble Award and to pose with their new statues backstage. Further nods went to Diablo Cody with the Hollywood Screenwriter Award, Moneyball's Bennett Miller with the Hollywood Director Award, and Joseph Gordon-Levitt with the Hollywood Breakthrough Actor Award. Joseph was handed his prize by his Dark Knight Rises costar Anne Hathaway, who was decked out in a floral Erdem dress.

Powerful Women Demi, Eva, Michele, and Olivia Mingle With Friends at Variety's Annual Luncheon

Eva Longoria, Demi Moore, Lea Michele, and Olivia Wilde were decked out in red and white at today's third annual Variety's Power of Women luncheon in Beverly Hills. Among the ladies being honored were Eva, Lea, Olivia, Mary J. Blige, and Annette Bening. It's been an exciting week for Lea, who kicked things off in a beautiful Marchesa gown at Sunday's Emmys and kept the fun going during Tuesday's season three premiere of Glee. There was a big premiere night for Demi's family as well with Ashton Kutcher's record-breaking debut on the opener of Two and a Half Men. Eva's also bracing for the final season of her drama Desperate Housewives, which kicks off on Sunday. Meanwhile, Olivia doesn't have a TV project debuting, but there's a possibility she might be jumping into a new relationship. Olivia was spotted on a stroll with Ryan Reynolds following their romantic lunch in NYC.

Matthew, Elisha, and Joanna Make ABC Happy, Better, and Full of Sunshiney Stars

Sunday was ABC's turn to bring out their new crop of shows at the TCA in Beverly Hills. Matthew Perry's midseason comedy Mr. Sunshine was one of the first of the day and although it's not planned to premiere until midseason it's one of the most anticipated series - Matthew was hilarious on stage and artfully answered any prying questions about his Friends costars. Perhaps the most talked-about panel was for My Generation, which brought out its extremely attractive cast including Jaime King. The afternoon was time for comedies like Better With You starring adorable Joanna Garcia. She and her onscreen sister Jennifer Finnigan have been friends for years, in fact, Joanna was there when Jennifer met her husband. Joanna joked about planning a wedding in real life and on TV - stay tuned for our exclusive one-on-one interview! Life During Wartime Trailer: Why the Glum Face, Pee-Wee?

When a movie has a foreboding title like Life During Wartime, you kind of expect it to be a little dark. But that's just par for the course for Todd Solondz (Welcome to the Dollhouse). This time around, the director takes us into the lives of three sisters (played by Allison Janney, Shirley Henderson, and Ally Sheedy), as they try to escape secrets of their past and get a fresh start, preferably in Florida. Oh yeah, and it's a comedy.

The trailer doesn't reveal much, other than showing the women moping about, along with a very sullen Paul Reubens who looks like he's just been crying. Someone give that man some Clear Eye. The film comes to theaters July 23, but get an early peek when you

Quickfire Faceoff! Rick Bayless vs. Michael Voltaggio

The final Aspen Food & Wine event is the Classic Quickfire, a timed cooking competition between the most recent Top Chef winner and an acclaimed chef (such as Jacques Pepin). This year, Top Chef champion Michael Voltaggio was up against stiff competition: Top Chef Masters winner Rick Bayless!

Host Sissy Biggers announced the theme was "sexy vegetables." Just like on the show, the two contenders drew knives to determine their main ingredients: Rick drew "surf," which meant whole lobsters, while Michael took "turf," which equated to rack of lamb.

They were also given leftover ingredients from previous cooking demos to work with and one sous chef each (Michael's was the fun and feisty actress Allison Janney). Rick Bayless stunned the judges with a roasted tomatillo salsa-topped lobster and potato course; meanwhile, Michael Voltaggio wowed the crowd with his frozen sangria starter and seared lamb loin and eggplant crostini with tomato seed "caviar."

Adam Brody Finds Love on Screen With Leighton Meester

Adam Brody made his way around the New Rochelle, NY, set of The Oranges yesterday with the help of a scooter, while his costar Leighton Meester was content to walk. In the movie, Adam's character falls in love with Leighton's, but in real life, both stars are single. She's fresh off a breakup from Sebastian Stan, though you guys don't think their split had anything to do with Robert Pattinson. Adam and Leighton are stars of two of our favorite teen shows of all time, and we're already excited to see their chemistry up on the big screen.

Away We Go: Happy to Come Along

Away We Go starts with a sex scene. There's no nudity, it's not overtly graphic, but it's unexpected and a bit jarring. It's certainly not the overture I was predicting. But just as I was starting to get uncomfortable, the moment becomes quite humorous. The hilarity of the scene is grounded in the screenplay (which was written by Dave Eggers and his wife Vendela Vida), but brought to life by John Krasinski and Maya Rudolph. Known for their respective work on The Office and Saturday Night Live, the duo's comedic chops may not come as a surprise, but here these two are playing it pretty straitlaced. It's this juxtaposition that makes the film so good - seeing funny people playing serious roles with serious situations that end up being funny.

It's a formula that's worked before. As I guessed from the trailer, the film is very similar in tone to Garden State and Juno. All three are quirky little gems with heavy subject matters and great soundtracks (seriously, check out Alexi Murdoch if you haven't already). If I had to fault the film with anything, it would be that it didn't feel particularly fresh, but that doesn't make it any less enjoyable.

The story follows Burt and Verona (Krasinski and Rudolph) on their quest to find a place to call home. They're about to have a baby and because Burt's proximately close parents (played by Jeff Daniels and the always hilarious Catherine O'Hara) are moving to Belgium, the two find themselves looking for someplace to live. Verona's parents are dead, so they decide to visit friends and relatives in various parts of North America and Canada where they could potentially set down roots. What ensues is a road story that finds the couple in Phoenix, Tucson, Madison, Montreal, and Miami.

Along the way we meet a variety of characters who run the gamut from looney and hilarious (specifically Allison Janney and Maggie Gyllenhaal's characters) to more subtle and subdued. And this goes back to the overall tone of the film: serious sprinkled with a dash of silly. It works most of the time, but occasionally the antics of Janney, Gyllenhaal, or O'Hara seem a little too far-fetched for what is ultimately a dramatic film. But these missteps are mostly forgivable as the actresses are so hysterically funny.

Then again, maybe these women's characters aren't supposed to be realistic or relatable. Maybe we're supposed to identify solely with Burt and Verona as they navigate through their journey. I certainly did. I also identified with the film's key message - that home is truly where the heart is. It's a refreshing idea coming from the director of the great but depressing American Beauty and Revolutionary Road.

Bottom Line: If you're looking to escape the typical Summer fare, Away We Go is a solid option.

Kate Helps Sam, Maya, and John Send Off Away We Go

The cast of Away We Go and some special loved ones hit the red carpet at a screening in NYC last night. Kate Winslet looked gorgeous in her LBD out to support her husband, director Sam Mendes. In the movie Maya Rudolph plays a pregnant woman, and her real-life baby bump is growing as she prepares for number two. John Krasinski looked cute smiling with his costars after spending the weekend visiting his family and showing off the film back in his hometown Boston.

Movie News: Allison Janney, Paris Hilton and Pee-Wee?

Weeeeird. . . There's no title yet, and plot details are limited, but this movie news caught my eye today because it's a bizarre collection of people. Apparently, there's an indie movie in the works that:

. . . will be directed by Todd Solondz (Welcome to the Dollhouse, Happiness).
. . . will star Allison Janney, Charlotte Rampling, Paris Hilton and Paul Reubens (known to many as Pee-Wee Herman).
. . . is described as "a dramatic comedy about family against the backdrop of a war. The movie will take off on elements from the director's breakout Happiness, in a project producers are describing as a 'part-sequel, part-variation' on that film."

Any Todd Solondz fans out there? Think this could be kind of awesome in a twisted sort of way? Should Paris be in movies?

Again: Weeeeird.
