Though parts of this trailer for Post Grad are predictable and a little cheesy, overall it's way more endearing and adorable than I had anticipated. Alexis Bledel plays Ryden Malby in this sentimental comedy that explores the scary/exciting challenges of graduating college and not having everything fall right into place. She lives with her parents, hangs out with her longtime guy friend Adam (Zach Gilford), and vies for the same jobs as countless other early 20-something hopefuls — and repeatedly faces rejection, causing her to wonder what her future will actually look like.

I've been perusing the long list of interesting-looking movies scheduled for this year's Tribeca Film Festival, which starts this week. Some of them, like The Good Guy, are just starting to pick up buzz, and I'm anxious to find out what festivalgoers think once they've screened.
Gilmore Girl Alexis Bledel finds herself in a love triangle of sorts in a film by director Julio DePietro.

At one point in the second installment of the stories surrounding girls who have pants and will travel, an exasperated Carmen (America Ferrera) says something like, "Can we just please focus on the pants?!" And yet, that's the thing I find most refreshing about this sequel: there's not really a focus on the pants. The fact that Carmen has to remind her friends to think about the pants is a good sign in this case; the focus should be on these girls and their friendships, not two tubes of faded, magic denim.

Who's ready for more of those magical pants? The trailer for the second installment of the movie franchise based on Ann Brashares's best-selling novel is now online. It's interesting to see the four stars of the film back together now that they are each so accomplished on their own.

As we pop in our brand-new DVDs of the final Gilmore Girls season and wax nostalgic over the adventures of Lorelei and Rory, at least there's news today that we'll be able to see Alexis Bledel onscreen again real soon (and in something that doesn't have to do with traveling or pants). Titled Ticket to Ride, the movie is a "college comedy" and will be directed by Vicky Jensen (Shrek, Shark Tale).
Bledel will play "Ryden Malby, a college grad who is forced to move back into her childhood home with her eccentric family while she attempts to find a job, the right guy and some direction for her life."

The "Gilmore Girls" won't be gone for long if series creator Amy Sherman-Palladino has her way. When TV Guide's Michael Ausiello tracked her down at Fox's Upfronts party last week, she told him she was hoping to write a two-hour TV movie to tie up all the loose ends from the show's finale.
Of course, that would be contingent on the cast coming back for the project — and given that the show was canceled because stars Lauren Graham and Alexis Bledel didn't sign contracts to return, I doubt that's a sure thing.
