ABC's The Unusuals wants to be a different kind of police drama. The show, which will premiere April 8 at 10 p.m., centers around a ragtag bunch of NYPD detectives, each of whom is, well, a little bizarre.

Julie Delpy is almost frighteningly talented. She writes, acts, directs, and composes music — and she does all four in 2 Days in Paris, one of my favorite films of the year so far. Delpy and Adam Goldberg play Marion and Jack, a lovably mismatched couple who spend a disastrous two days with Marion's family.

I'm almost afraid to write about 2 Days in Paris, as if somehow, by writing about it, it won't be a precious memory in my mind anymore. That sounds sappy and overwrought, but the fact is, I adored this movie more than any other movie I've seen in a long time. It's possible that the movie happened to hit all the right notes at all the right times for me personally.

2 Days in Paris first caught my eye back in April when it screened at the Tribeca Film Festival, and now that I've seen the trailer I'm salivating to see this film. I love pretty much anything Julie Delpy touches, and seeing as she wrote, directed, edited and stars in 2 Days in Paris, she's touched this project often and much.
The movie follows Marion (Delpy) who brings her American boyfriend (Adam Goldberg) on his first trip to Paris.

Tonight, Amber Tamblyn returns to TV for her first series role since Joan of Arcadia. She's playing Detective Casey Shraeger in ABC's The Unusuals, about a group of misfit cops in New York City trying to solve crimes while also battling their own personal neuroses. I'm still a little disappointed that the show isn't about superhero cops, but the crazy personalities in this show — played by Adam Goldberg, Harold Perrineau, and Kai Lennox, among others — make up for that a bit.

The Winter TCA press tour is all over, and I'm back catching up on all the things I missed while I was camped out in Universal City. I got some great interviews and previews of some new TV shows that I'll be sharing soon, but for now, I wanted to wrap up some of the best, worst, and most awkward moments from my days in LA:
- Wittiest Line: Jimmy Fallon at the session for his new stint on Late Night, after being asked whether he'd still have time to do romantic comedies: "If you want to meet me at the Empire State Building after this, I'll tell you the truth."
- Best Comeback: Amy Poehler after being asked whether she often wakes up in the morning and thinks something along the lines of, "Tina Fey, I'll show her": "Yes. And then I turn around and I wake her up, and we have breakfast together."
- Oddest Wording: ABC Entertainment President Steve McPherson calling Shonda Rhimes "one of the most, if not the most talented woman writer out there right now."

Last year's edition of the People's Choice Awards was awfully bizarre because of the writers' strike, but hopefully this year's version will be a return to form. The nominations for the 35th annual show came out today, and as usual, it's a pretty eclectic list — from The Dark Knight to Grey's Anatomy to Robert Downey Jr. to Rihanna.
The most intriguing category this year is a new one, Favorite Star 35 and Under, with a long list of nominees including Blake Lively, Angelina Jolie, and Taylor Swift.

There's been a serious tourism boom in a small town on the Washington State peninsula, Forks, because the popular young adult saga Twilight is set there. The "vampire tourism," as it's called, has given the "timber town where logging's decline left a graveyard of rusting timber mills and unemployment" a bit of a renaissance, thanks to the nearly 100 Twilight fans per day who come to see the real-life city where the spooky tale takes place. Tourists can pick up vampire-related souvenirs and even eat a "Bella Burger" at a local drive-in.
