Next Thursday, NBC's two-hour Thursday night powerhouse will be complete again with the season four premiere of 30 Rock — get a sneak peek here. Meanwhile, ABC has just picked up its new comedies Modern Family, The Middle, and Cougar Town. With the addition of Hank, ABC now has a comedy block of its own, but which one do you prefer?

It's a big night for ABC — the network is premiering three shows tonight including half of their new Wednesday block of comedy. Hank and The Middle will take over the 8 o'clock hour next week, but tonight brings a few shows I'm actually pretty excited about. First up is Modern Family which is one of my favorite new comedies and after you watch you'll see why we've been saying "Why the face?"

Deadwood actor John Hawkes (also recently seen on the HBO show Eastbound and Down) has landed a recurring role on Lost for the mysterious show's final season.
For all the Lost fans out there, here are some details to mull over about the role: Hawkes will play Lennon, "the scruffy, edgy and charismatic spokesperson and translator for the president of a foreign corporation who is far more powerful than it seems from his position." Oooh, translators always have major power to influence and alter things; this part should be pretty juicy.

I wonder if adapting Audrey Niffenegger's novel The Time Traveler's Wife would have worked better as a TV series in the first place, rather than trying to cram a lifetime of time traveling and intense romance into one movie. But now that the movie has opened in theaters, how will there be a television series about Henry and Clare?
It's a question ABC is apparently ready to tackle.

The next crop of celebs who are in the mood to groove has been announced, and as usual it is an interesting bunch to say the least. For the next season of Dancing With the Stars, we've got folks who have been entertaining for years, some good-looking athletes, and even a politico (Tom DeLay!). I don't know who the equivalent of The Woz is this time around, but still, this group will make me tune in for sure.

I have to say, ABC's upcoming Fall show Flash Forward looks really compelling. From the few scenes I got to watch and the discussion at today's Comic-Con panel, I'm pretty much sold on this show already. And it's not just because Joseph Fiennes is very handsome, nor is it because Dominic Monaghan is on the show and made an appearance (which he did!).

Jennifer Garner has much to smile about these days as she embarks on a new chapter in her professional life: producing TV shows at ABC Studios. Garner starred in ABC's Alias for five seasons (and she'll probably always be Sydney Bristow to me), and now she's reuniting with the network for a first-look production deal.
As producers, Garner and her partner Juliana Janes aim to develop female-driven material like Grey's Anatomy.

If I were Betty Suarez, I'd be pretty sick of braces after more than two years, and according to some dentists, those braces would be off by now for sure. In fact, some specialists are claiming that Ugly Betty gives a "detrimental" portrayal of wire braces because Betty hasn't had her braces removed yet, and because the braces supposedly make her "unattractive." Tracey Posner, of the British Orthodontic society, has stated:
It is irresponsible of the programme makers to portray Betty as "ugly" because she wears prominent braces.

From everything I've read about ABC's upcoming series Defying Gravity, it's apparently something like the lovechild of Grey's Anatomy, Battlestar Galactica, and Lost . . .
