Buzz In: What Were Your Favorite Super Bowl Ads?

The fun of the Super Bowl may be behind us (go Steelers!), but the ads will remain, at least for a little while. Not all of last night's ads had me laughing out loud, but there were a few I particularly liked - and I'm curious to know which ones caught your eye (besides the movie trailers - we're talking about those over here).

My top tier includes Hulu's "evil plot to destroy the world" ad with Alec Baldwin, Teleflora's offensive talking flowers (seriously, folks? Don't send me flowers in a box from now on!), Pedigree's giant pets, and cars.com's David Abernathy, boy genius ad (which reminded me a little of a Wes Anderson movie, though I was also oddly put off when I found out it was for cars.com). Others that made me laugh - maybe more than they should have - were SoBe's 3-D lizards, the Doritos crystal ball (which topped USA Today's ad meter), and the Denny's thugs. The dating Budweiser clydesdales made me "squee" a little, and of course I got a laugh out of Conan's Swedish ad. And even though it's basically a repeat from last year, I'm so glad the E-Trade baby has a friend.

First Look: Amy Poehler in Parks and Recreation

Amy Poehler and Rashida Jones hopped on set to start filming their new sitcom last week, and it looks like it was just in time! The first ad for the new show, now called Parks and Recreation, aired during the special post-Super Bowl episode of The Office last night.

The short promo shows Poehler as Leslie Knope, a parks committee member from Pawnee, Indiana, wandering around an abandoned pit and picking up trash while talking about her vow to turn it into a lovely park. Things get a little dicey, however, when she finds a particularly unappetizing specimen.

I have to say, I'm not in love with the name Parks and Recreation - can you really hear anyone saying, "Nah, I gotta stay in tonight and watch the new Parks and Recreation"? I might have preferred the previous rumored title - Public Service - but as NBC's Ben Silverman told the New York Times, they didn't "want to seem mean" about making fun of public service. Eh, OK. The Super Bowl Movie Spots: Transformers 2, Year One and More

It was like movie preview-palooza during the Super Bowl this year with spots airing for Transformers 2, Star Trek, G.I. Joe, Angels and Demons, Monsters vs. Aliens, Land of the Lost and Pixar's Up. Did you catch them all? Which one did you like the most?

I was more impressed with the preview for G.I. Joe than I thought I would be and the spots for Up and Monsters vs. Aliens are adorable. I think my favorite, though, is the one for the Judd Apatow-produced comedy Year One starring Jack Black, Michael Cera and Paul Rudd. Cardinals Vs. Steelers: Whose Fan Fight Song Wins?

The Super Bowl is on Sunday, and either the Arizona Cardinals or the Pittsburgh Steelers will be able to call themselves this year's NFL champions.

But there's another battle to be fought right here, right now, for the best fan-made fight song. On the left, we have the Cardinals' "We Do This Together" by the hip hop group Golden Cousins. On the right, it's "Steeler Ladies," a "Single Ladies" parody by Christine Nangle and Addi Twigg. Both name-check lots of players, and both obviously show love for their team. So, in the Super Bowl of Fight Songs, who reigns supreme?

First Look: The Office Super Bowl Special

There's no new Office episode to recap today, but that's OK - I'm willing to give my Dunder Mifflin friends a break since I know they have something special up their sleeves. On Sunday, immediately following the Super Bowl, NBC will air a special hourlong Office episode called "Stress Relief."

In the episode, Dwight will force the Scranton branch into "extreme disaster training," setting the whole office on fire while all the employees are locked inside. There's also a plot involving several special guest stars, including Jack Black, Jessica Alba, and Cloris Leachman, who apparently appear in a bootlegged Hollywood movie that some Office workers try to watch. Jenna Fischer herself says the opening is "the wildest two minutes of The Office ever," so I can't wait to see it.

The Super Bowl is this weekend in Tampa, and fans of both the Pittsburgh Steelers and the Arizona Cardinals are getting ready to cheer. But the game isn't the only reason to tune into the Super Bowl broadcast. From the funny ads to the halftime show, Sunday will be filled with entertainment. So tell me: What entertainment-related part of the Super Bowl are you looking forward to most?

Do You Own 3-D Glasses?

Today, I got my first glimpse of the 3-D episode of Chuck, which is airing the Monday after the Super Bowl and will feature a 3-D Jeff. Also during the Super Bowl, the movie Monsters vs. Aliens will be airing a "monstrous 3-D event" during an ad break. I guess I need to hurry up and find some 3-D glasses! Last Fall, when I went to see Jaws 3-D, I had to try to make my own glasses out of cardboard and cellophane (they worked . . . kind of); this time, I want to watch with the proper equipment. Check out the Chuck preview and tell me: Do you own 3-D glasses?

Chuck's Dad, the Super Office, and More From NBC

News on the Gossip Girl spinoff and Amy Poehler show was just the start of the good stuff to come out of NBC's TCA session yesterday. I also got some news on Chuck and the post-Super Bowl episode of The Office. Read on for details:

Yes, Chuck's dad will be found - and he'll be played by Scott Bakula of Quantum Leap! "[Executive producer] Chris Fedak and I were huge Quantum Leap fans," Executive Producer Josh Schwartz said. "We watched it religiously."
Does finding dear daddy mean there could be wedding bells for Ellie and Awesome before the season's up? "Very possibly," Schwartz said. "That is why Chuck said, 'I'm going to go find dad,' so he can be there to walk her down the aisle."
Also, we'll see Jeff shirtless and in 3D before the season's up - but not at the same time. "We felt like that was going to be too much for America," Schwartz said. For the record, Fedak worships Jeff; Schwartz worships Lester.
Another thing he's excited about: the upcoming guest appearance by Chevy Chase. "We are like psycho Chevy Chase fans on the show, and we've talked about Fletch and Spies Like Us, and we have all of these Spies Like Us references inside of our show," Schwartz said. He'll play the head of a company that's sort of Apple-ish, "real visionary in the software game," and he'll be a little edgier than we've seen from Chase before.

The post-Super Bowl episode of The Office will be a little more stand-alone than a typical installment because of all the new viewers it could attract, said Paul Lieberstein (who plays Toby but is also a writer and producer on the show). But the plot still sounds very Office-ish: "Dwight, in an effort to do extreme disaster training because he's frustrated with the way people have responded to it in the past, locks everyone in the office and sets fire to it," he said. "And then Michael has to help everyone."
Finding out The Office would be on after the Super Bowl was both intimidating and exciting. "There was certainly a sense of, 'This could take over the year,'" Lieberstein said. "In a way it felt like we were writing a pilot."
As for what Idris Elba will be doing on the show: He'll be playing a character who gets promoted to Jan's old job over Michael (who naturally thinks he's a lock for the position). "Michael doesn't handle it well," Lieberstein said. "There's quite a lot of tension with a presence that imposing and a guy like Michael Scott who just can't get it together."
Unlike in the BBC version of The Office, we may never see the documentary that the crew has supposedly been filming all these years. "I don't know if it's going to be the most satisfying way to see Michael Scott grow as a person," Lieberstein said. "You know, just to kind of become a horrible ex-reality star."
