Diddy and His Costars Bring Their Raisin Into The Sun

I owe Diddy an apology. I've been giving him some flack over the past couple of days that he is only at Sundance to promote his vodka, though he is in fact in town to premiere a pretty big film at the festival, the newest version of A Raisin in the Sun, alongside Phylicia Rashad, John Stamos, and Audra McDonald. To be fair, he did spend a good amount of time with that vodka of his. Heh. While at the festival, he talked about being involved in such an important project. He said:

On his first lead movie role: "This a historical moment for me, my first starring role in a movie...Some of the audience is going to want to see did I do good or did I fall flat on my face?"
On the film: "Sometimes people come to a place and don't expect to get the message...This generation, they come for entertainment ... then they realize, 'oh man, this movie is really touching. It's making me really appreciate my family."'
On moving from Broadway to film:"Broadway truly prepared me. It made me really go for it...I was like, I came here to get with it and tell a story. I have a long way to go ... but I'm swimming, baby."

Luckily for us, their Raisin in the Sun will also premiere February 25 on ABC, so we'll all get to see Diddy's acting chops. Until then, I'm sure he shared a few of his party pointers with his costars to celebrate their film.

Celebrities (and Sightings) Still Cycling Through Sundance

While my exhausted tail returned to San Francisco last night, the fun rolls on at Sundance with a whole new group of celebs coming into town to brave the cold and show off their movies. Other than Diddy, who was mostly there to show off his vodka. Lukas Haas separated himself from Leonardo DiCaprio long enough to premiere his movie, Death in Love which Buzz and I saw last night - totally disturbing (though Adam Brody was really cute in it) - before also seeing him out to breakfast this morning. It's going to be a while before I can look at him in the same way. Buzz was there to see Meg Ryan, Felicity Huffman and William H. Macy at the premiere of Meg/William's cute movie The Deal on Tuesday night, while my only other sighting of these folk was Virgina Madsen at the premiere of her movie Diminished Capacity. I had such a blast at the festival, and be sure to check out all my partner in crime's thoughts plus all the news about movies being bought over on Buzz.

Behind the Scenes at Sundance: The Photobooth, Take 2

With my time at Sundance nearing its end, I figured I would check back in with the photobooth to see which new stars had stopped by for their festival portraits. Not surprisingly, what I found was a whole new bucket full of cute.

Luke Wilson, Adrianna Barraza, and Radha Mitchell from Henry Poole is Here, which I was lucky enough to see, finally took their turn at the photobooth, as did Mischa Barton, who's here for Assassination of a High School President. Felicity Huffman, Patricia Clarkson, and Elle Fanning melted my heart with their shots for Phoebe in Wonderland - I mean, they got Elle a box to stand on! And then there are Matthew Perry and Lauren Graham, hamming it up as they promote Birds of America.

Charlize and Stuart Sleepwalk With Sundance Smiles

Charlize Theron walked the red carpet as both star and producer of her new movie Sleepwalking at Sundance yesterday with Stuart on her arm. Unfortunately, Buzz, who was there for the screening, didn't have a rave review for the piece...but of course Charlize looked stunning for the event. Leave it to her to make bundling up for freezing weather look sunny and glamorous. Apparently things got a little awkward and silent at the post-show Q&A, but at least it meant she didn't put her foot in her mouth geography-wise like she did over the weekend. Oops.

On A Day of Highs and Lows, Sundances On

While the afternoon took a noticeably somber turn as the news of Heath Ledger's tragic death spread over snowy Park City, the morning was for celebrating as Oscar nomination news came to Sundance. While a lot of the celebrities left with the end of MLK day weekend, there was still swag to be scored for some of them. I was lucky enough to stop by the Pure & Natural Celebrity Eco-Retreat and Iconix "Gift Giving For A Cause" Suite benefiting Save the Children to see all the goodies the celebrities have been snatching up as souvenirs. I also ducked into the Wireimage portrait studio thanks to our friends over there and while I didn't get any big celebrity sightings, I was right on the trail of so many of them who have stopped through to pose.

Mischa and Audrina were definitely enjoying the goodies while Diddy was more about pimping his vodka than taking home free stuff. Luke Wilson was looking scruffy, but hopefully his movie luck has turned since BuzzSugar had only good things to say about his movie at the festival, Henry Poole is Here. I'm headed home to slightly warmer SF tonight, but there's a lot more Sundance to come!

Sundance Welcomes a New Side of Kirsten Dunst

Kirsten Dunst came to Sundance this year not as an actress premiering a movie, but as a first time director showing off her short Welcome. The movie premiered on Friday, so by the weekend it was all smooth sailing and hanging out on Main Street taking in all the sights and parties. While Kirsten's film isn't one of the options, you can check out some of the other Sundance Shorts free online over the next ten days (and buy others on iTunes). Hey, getting a little taste of the festival without all the layers (have I mentioned it's cold here?) is certainly a treat.

Sundance Party-Goers Rally Through Weekend No. 1

The first long weekend of Sundance drew to a close last night and celebrities big, small and everything in between are still descending on the town in droves. Naturally Paris (who I saw again on Sunday night...figure that would be my only multiple sighting while in Park City) is still making her presence known all over - and showing off those pipes with some karaoke. She also had some gushing to do about Nicole's choice of baby name. She said, "It's the coolest name ever...I'm like, 'That is the coolest name, oh my God!' I wouldn't even think she would have thought of that. It's a beautiful name...Nicole is so into it...She always knows what's cool before it happens." Ha.

Josh Hartnett (mmm, Hotnett) took advantage of the slopes, which seems to be the thing to do as everyone is always talking about how deserted they are during the festival while Cash and Jessica got cozy on another red carpet. I'm thinking they probably won't be out to celebrate Jessica's multiple Razzie nominations. Naturally, David Arquette figured out a way to stand out in the crowd. I'm keeping my eyes peeled all around town, because there are a few of these faces I wouldn't mind seeing first hand.

SJP and Matthew Have Lots To Celebrate at Sundance

It was back to back nights of Sundance premieres for the Sarah Jessica Parker/Matthew Broderick power couple with Sunday bringing out her Smart People and Sunday featuring his Diminished Capacity. Both actors were happy to accompany their other halves to the big premieres - awwww. While I've heard good things about SJP's project with Dennis Quaid and Thomas Haden Church, I was actually there to see Matthew's movie last night. It's an incredibly sweet and funny film - Matthew plays perfectly slightly neurotic but hilarious while Alan Alda was just great as Matthew's elderly uncle. Plus, I can't not gush a little about seeing SJP again (this time from afar, though Sunday's treat of seeing her interviewed was thrills enough) as she came into the theater to a sea of flashing cameras of other audience members. Definitely a great weekend in Park City for all the stars and makers of these two films.

SJP is there for her Smart project, but of course everyone wants to hear about Sex and the City especially the new addition to one of the star's families. Christopher Noth's girlfriend had a baby over the weekend and Sarah was happy to gush about the new dad. She said, "I'm thrilled for him because I think first of all he's going to make a wonderful, wonderful father...He found a lovely lady to have a child with. It's the perfect time for him and I think he's very ready." Mr. Big Daddy? Sorry, sorry, I had to.

SJP Is a Smart Person at Sundance

Sarah Jessica Parker made freezing Park City look downright manageable in her cute jacket and boots around town before the big Sundance premiere of her movie Smart People last night. Thanks to our friends at EW, I got to sit in and see SJP and her co-stars in the movie Dennis Quaid and Thomas Haden Church banter about their movie yesterday afternoon at their portrait studio. They were incredibly cute and funny as a trio, but I will say that Haden Church stole the show. Though just seeing SJP is such a highlight! Hopefully, their movie has the same amount of charm as the three of them do when they're just hanging out together.

Jessica and Cash Hit Snowy Sundance

Jessica and Cash got all bundled up to brave the freezing temperatures of Park City for the Sundance Film Festival this weekend. Jess wasn't there to promote any of her own films, but she does have The Eye hitting theaters in a couple weeks so it's always good for celebs to make appearances to remind us of what's to come. Alba also looks to have found some spare time to engage in other aspects of Sundance finest - shopping and swag.

Sundance Brings Out the Stars

While our girls Molly and Buzz are checking out all the goodness at the Sundance Film Festival, Park City has been chock full of celebrities showing off their new films. Emily Blunt joined cute father/son duo Tom and Colin Hanks at the premiere of The Great Buck Howard, while Bono and his fellow bandmates supported their U2 3D. Adorable Elle Fanning held her own at the premiere of Phoebe In Wonderland, and Jack Black was unsurprisingly perfectly comfortable showing off his dark roots for his new movie Be Kind Rewind. Obviously there are lots of exciting movies and stars all over the film festival, so be sure to check back for updates from Molly and Buzz about all the movies and any hot gossip that comes their way.

Behind the Scenes at Sundance: The Photobooth

This year, I'm once again awestruck by the gorgeous photobooth photos coming out of the Sundance Film Festival. The stars I've been spotting always seem to end up here eventually, posing for a series of portraits with their castmates.

So far, I have to give Emily Blunt and Colin Hanks, who star together in The Great Buck Howard, the award for cuteness this year; their "I've got a secret!"-style photos are just so heartwarming. Some of my other early favorites: festival judge Sandra Oh rocking some seriously punky hair, Jack Black's muscle man T-shirt, and Method Man just, you know, being himself. Adrian's Adventures of Sundance Power

It just doesn't seem like Sundance without Vincent Chase's smiling face, and what do you know, he is here for all the action. Along with all the parties, Adrian Grenier is in town to premiere his movie Adventures of Power, which was written and directed by the real Ari Gold himself. Adrian also took the opportunity to perform at a private party with his band, The Honey Brothers. It was rumored that he would be rolling into town with Lindsay Lohan on his arm, but the starlet is still in LA. I (literally) bumped into the curly haired Entourage star when he stopped by the Entertainment Weekly portrait studio to show off those baby blues for the camera yesterday afternoon. And yup, he's pretty darn cute in person, too.

Mary-Kate and Her Wackness Are All Over Sundance

I haven't seen Mary-Kate Olsen either in person or on the big screen here at Sundance just yet, but her movie The Wackness is the talk of the town. The good news is that the reviews I've been hearing are mostly positive (yay!) despite the fact that the title is so horrible. Park City isn't the only place where MK is super popular these days either - rumor has it that she was quite the little flirt on the set of the movie last summer. Plus, she looks so happy doing her thing at the festivals, premieres parties and all, love it. Fingers crossed this means we'll be seeing her and Ben Kingsley's Wackness in theaters all over soon.

Mary-Kate Olsen braved the cold of Park City, Utah with a smile on her face and an envy-worthy bright yellow bag keeping the mood light. Maybe she should skip the ripped jeans when dealing with the freeeeeezing cold? Either way, she looks pretty excited to be in town to show off The Wackness (and hopefully enjoy the parties). BuzzSugar and I are headed off to Sundance today - and believe you me I will be on 100% Olsen Watch at all times! Mary-Kate and Colin Kick Off Hot and Freezing Sundance Fun

Sundance Film Festival officially kicked off last night starting with the screening of Colin Farrell's In Bruges. You know what that means, a couple weeks of some of our favorite movie stars and newcomers all bundled up to brave that f-f-freezing Park City, Utah weather. Mary-Kate Olsen (who looks a lot like Ashley here...why am I so bad at this game these days) was extra smiley out to celebrate the start of the festival - and her bizarre sounding move The Wackness gets its very own Sundance premiere this weekend. Here's the fun part, BuzzSugar and I are headed to Park City, Utah this weekend to join in on the 2008 Sundance fun, see some great movies (and hopefully have some great celebrity sightings).
