Buzz In: What Was Your Favorite Grammy Performance?

If there's one thing I can say about this year's Grammy Awards, it's that the performances offered something for just about everyone, from the indie rocker to the Beatles fanatic to the Sinatra lover. There were quieter numbers (Feist's
"1 2 3 4") and high-energy rockers (Amy Winehouse, live from London). And there was Kanye West's glow-in-the-dark "Stronger" featuring Daft Punk's first-ever TV appearance (that's them in the glowing skeleton suits). Actor Roy Scheider, best known for playing the police chief in Jaws, passed away at the age of 75 on Sunday, Variety reports.
Sunday's Grammy Awards were the third least-watched Grammy ceremony ever, writes the AP.
Juno, No Country for Old Men, and The Wire were big winners at the Writers Guild of America Awards over the weekend, Variety reports.
Kristen Bell will star in Disney's romantic comedy When in Rome, writes Hollywood Reporter.
ComingSoon has the news that Michelle Pfeiffer will star in Cheri, a film adaptation of the 1920s novel by French author Collette.

Yet another way to watch the Olympics this summer: Oxygen will carry gymnastics, tennis, and some other events, TV Guide reports.
Pitchfork reports that there's a Radiohead greatest hits album on the way.
According to Variety, Ellen Page will have the lead role in Sam Raimi's horror flick Drag Me to Hell.

Tina Turner and Beyonce were rolling, rolling, rolling on a river Sunday night with their duet rendition of "Proud Mary" at the 50th annual Grammys. Between Beyonce's sequin-studded dress and Tina's silver capris, the two were literally sparkling. But how did you like the performance? Can Tina still rock? Well, we knew the music industry's biggest award show would be huge this year since it was the Grammys' 50th birthday. Between the Beyonce and Tina Turner duet, Kanye's touching performance, and Feist's simple rendition of, "1 2 3 4," this year's Grammy Awards did not disappoint.

West, Winehouse Win Big at 2008 Grammys

Sunday's 50th annual Grammy Awards were packed with powerful performances - including Kanye West's tribute to his mother and Beyonce's duet with Tina Turner - and musical luminaries from both the past and the present. But awards-wise, the night belonged to Amy Winehouse. Winehouse, who performed via satellite from London after being denied a visa, won five of the six awards she was nominated for, including Best New Artist and both Record of the Year and Song of the Year for "Rehab."

West also had a big night, picking up four awards including Best Rap Album and performing both a stirring tribute to his mother and a glow-in-the-dark rendition of "Stronger" featuring Daft Punk's first TV appearance ever. But one of the biggest surprises came in the Album of the Year category, where both West and Winehouse were beaten by 11-time Grammy winner Herbie Hancock and his album River: The Joni Letters.

The Grammy Awards celebrate their 50th anniversary tonight with musical performances, tributes to the show's history, and - of course - dozens upon dozens of awards. Yet right as the awards reach their half-century milestone, there's renewed debate over whether the awards are still relevant given the number of other music awards shows, the rise of independent labels whose artists rarely get recognized with Grammys, and the slumping record sales throughout the music industry.

When I asked a while back which entertainment awards you trusted most, the Grammys came in dead last. Do you think they're still relevant at all?

TV Tonight: The 50th Annual Grammy Awards

Happy birthday, Grammys! The granddaddy of music awards shows turns 50 tonight, with a special show packed full of performances and tributes to greats musicians from the past and the present.

In addition to Amy Winehouse's live-via-satellite performance, there are a ton of other much-hyped acts taking the stage tonight: Beyonce and Tina Turner will duet, as will John Legend and Fergie and Josh Groban and Andrea Bocelli. Aretha Franklin, Feist, Kanye West, and Alicia Keys are among the other performers, and the casts of Cirque du Soleil's Love show and Across the Universe will unite in a special tribute to the Beatles. Plus, one lucky instrumentalist will get to join the Foo Fighters in a special performance outside the Staples Center in LA.

Who Joins the Foo Fighters' Grammy Orchestra? You Decide

When the Foo Fighters take the stage on Sunday to perform their song "The Pretender" at the Grammy Awards, one talented amateur will join them in their orchestra. Who? That part's up to you.

This year, My Grammy Moment - the same contest that allowed one singer to duet with Justin Timberlake last year - has been searching for an instrumentalist to join the Fighters on stage. From a list of 15 finalists, the field has been narrowed to three: two violinists and a cellist. Between now and the first hour of Sunday's show, they're competing for your votes, which you can submit via text message or online.
