ABC Dramas have a lot of Big Shots

Along with all the gorgeous women joining ABC's prime time, there will be plenty of eye candy for the ladies as well. The male version of Sex and the City is called Big Shots and stars Michael Vartan, Dylan McDermott, Christopher Titus and Joshua Malina. In the pilot these four CEOs sit around in a steam room bitching about their lives when Dylan's character finally says, "Men, we're like the new women." Talk about a guilty pleasure! Then there is the most hyped show of the season, the Grey's spin off, Private Practice. While everyone else is focusing on Kate Walsh, we'll lust after Taye Diggs who will get another shot at ABC prime time. For lots of upcoming PP and Grey's secrets, click here.

Peter Krause stars in Dirty Sexy Money where he plays a lawyer who takes over his dead father's job as personal counsel for an uber-rich dysfunctional family. The creator of the show, Craig Wright, said it was inspired by the Dallas or Dynasty models but more updated. Ex-OC and Entourage star, Samaire Armstrong also joins the cast as the blonde bratty socialite that many are already comparing to Paris Hilton. ABC Comedies: Cavemen, Carpoolers and Christina

Including Cashmere Mafia, ABC clearly has a theme for things beginning with C this season. Christina Applegate returns to the small screen in Samantha Who? as an alcoholic bitch who gets into an accident and awakens from a coma with retrograde amnesia which means she can function normally but can't remember her past. The cast also includes the cute Barry Watson (What About Brian) and the spicy Jennifer Esposito. The funniest part of the panel was when someone asked if in real life any of the characters wished they could forget and redo something they'd done in real life. Jennifer Esposito seemed to think that question was hilarious. Perhaps she was thinking of this.

Carpoolers is about a bunch of boys who - you guessed it - spend a lot of time in the car together. Jerry O'Connell and Faith Ford are the two biggest names and I am happy to say this show was surprisingly funny. Maybe it's because I had low expectations but watching this group interact on the panel was pretty hilarious. Jerry plays the womanizing bachelor that comes across as slightly cheesy. He admitted to practicing his lines at home with his brand new wife. He said she gets a real kick out of it. Also hilarious - T.J. Miller, the guy in his red track suit. As for Cavemen, the show based on a Geico ad - well, I'll let you decide that one for yourselves.

ABC Pushes Daisies & Lots of Beautiful Women in Some Club that May Include The Simpson Sisters

Yesterday kicked off the ABC TCAs and although we have to wait until the end of November to check out Cashmere Mafia, the network has plenty of other new shows that are bound to be big hits. Pushing Daisies might be my favorite new show this season (sorry Chuck). The fairy tale-like show is brought to us by Barry Sonnenfeld (Men in Black) and Bryan Fuller (Dead Like Me, Wonderfalls). The show is so beautiful to watch I could not take my eyes off the screen. Lee Pace is the adorable main character that can bring people back to life by touching them, but he can kill them just as quickly with a second touch. He resurrects his childhood sweetheart and the two have this untouchable (literally) loving romance. It's so sweet and only was a small part of such an entertaining show. The Women's Murder Club based on the popular James Patterson books is another show with a beautiful foursome but this time they're solving crimes in SF. I am not normally into formulaic cop-like shows but this one was very entertaining and everything about Angie Harmon is gorgeous, especially the way she talks about her family. She said:

"My husband is the most brilliant father on the planet... I actually have him more now at home than I did when he was playing....it's just all worked out really, really beautifully. The whole show coming into my life, and I know that my time with my girls is going to be fine and my husband is great, and he's happy with is job and where he is. So my family is in a really good place right now. I'm really thankful to be here."

She spoke really passionately about her new role and her home life so now I am a huge fan. Oh and did I mention Joe Simpson is an executive producer on the show? Well he is and he was asked if his daughters will guest star. Make sure to check out his response so read more

Joe's response to if his famous daughters will guest star was, "It's not in the plan, but you never know what tomorrow holds. That's not how we ever started this show, with the girls in mind at all so -- but I would never say never because the girls like to be where things are successful. So if we were asked, we will see." It would certainly be an interesting role for Jess or Ashlee.

Cashmere Mafia Has Nothing to do with Sweater Sets!

At ABC's TCAs Sex and the City creator Darren Star was asked the obvious over and over again. His new show includes Miranda Otto, Frances O'Connor, Bonnie Somerville and Lucy Liu as his new dream foursome in the mid season guilty pleasure, Cashmere Mafia. Yes, the cast has four beautiful women living in NYC but he promises this show is different than that Sex show we all can't stop talking about. He also addressed the movie rumors (sort of) and how this show is a lot like that other one called Lipstick Jungle based on the book by his good friend who also wrote SATC. Here are highlights:

Difference between CM and SATC:
"This is a show that examines women from the point of view of women in business and the particular challenges they face as career women. SATC is a comedy about sex.... the shows are looking at women from two different points of view."
When asked for any teasers about the SATC movie Darren joked:
"It features four women." He then went on to only say, that there is a script and it's in the form of pre-production so at least that is more evidence that the movie is on its way to being made.
On NBC's Lipstick Jungle:
"I'm a dear friend of Candace and I read "Lipstick Jungle" which I think is a terrific book, and at the time we were talking about it, I did not end up producing "Lipstick Jungle" and it sort of went on its merry way for a couple of years. And then this idea came to Kevin and I through Gail and ABC and I thought absolutely. I'm still very energized creatively by this arena. And the idea that there can be two shows about "Saturday Night Live" on one network, to say that there can't be more than one show about working women is ridiculous because there is so much material there."

What else do we have to look forward to? How about the adorable Lucy Liu being dressed by Patricia Field! It's hard to not make the comparisons to SJP but based on how they talked about how the designer works on the set we can expect lots of exciting new outfits. Family Fun At the FOX TCAs

Wentworth, Kiefer, Hugh, Oh My! I could probably stop this story here and you all would be psyched to just jump into that gallery to check out images of FOX's finest. As you can see from the collage, I want to point out all the other fun things that happened at the FOX TCAs this week. The coolest event by far was the live read of a special uncensored version of the 100th episode of The Family Guy. Click here for a sneak peek! Other highlights include:

House fans want to know what's in store for season four? The actors told us tons so click here for more.
Parker Posey hits the small screen with co-star Lauren Ambrose in a touching comedy called The Return of Jezebel James. We can't wait to see these actresses working together. The exec producer is the creator of Gilmore Girls which even she said she hopes to end her series appropriately someday.
24 will have a female president - Guess who got cast.
Family Guy's 100th episode includes guests stars like Rob Lowe and there is a chance the show may hit the big screen like The Simpsons.
A new reality like series called Nashville aiming to be the next Laguna Beach - Setting my TiVo now.
Julianna Margulies changes professions as a big shot lawyer with a sad past. The actress was very charming - almost enough to make me want to watch a legal show since I haven't liked my options recently. She also said she and George Clooney have been trying to work together for years and that she hopes "he'll direct it, and we'll do something funny together." Stay tuned.

After the panels, FOX rented out the Santa Monica Pier. The cast of House hit the bumper cars while other FOX celebs played ski ball and more. I rode the roller coaster - Fun times!

Chuck is My New Crush

It's official. I have a new obsession. The super cute Zachary Levi is coming to NBC on Monday nights and my TiVo is already set. Chuck is by far my favorite new NBC series. It is created by another favorite, Josh Schwartz (he did a little thing we LOVED called The O.C.). We are still holding out that the now saucy Rachel Bilson will somehow join this cast to make the ultimate best show EVER but Zach was so entertaining that I am warning you now, I will be writing about him a lot. He's a more suburban version of Seth Cohen in a show that is a cross between Alias and The Office (do I have your attention yet?). Oh and did I mention the adorable Zachary Levi is the title character?!? The Less Then Perfect actor (yeah, I never saw that ABC show either) looks better than ever. NBC All Star Party Includes Friday Night Lights Secrets

The hit stars from NBC's new shows and current shows came out last night to schmooze with the press as their two days at the TCAs came to a close. We saw the cast of Heroes (Ali Larter is gorgeous in person), Las Vegas (yay yummy Josh), John Stamos, The Hoff, all those adorable Friday Night Lights kids and their handsome coach. My new favorite, Zachary Levi from Chuck (more on him soon) won the Singing Bee competition. I was just happy to swoon over him singing on stage. Buzz scored some awesome info on the upcoming season of Friday Night Lights so click here to get excited to see what is in store for all you FNL fans.

Zooey D Is Following the Yellow Brick Road

Who knew I would be interested in watching yet another remake of The Wizard of Oz? At NBC's TCAs, the SciFi network was allowed to crash the party with what is bound to be their biggest hit of the season, Tin Man. The adorable Zooey Deschanel will star as Dorothy in the six hour miniseries which had amazing special effects and an updated look and feel. The cast also includes Richard Dreyfuss (who was not there), Alan Cummings as the scarecrow who graciously attended via satellite - so Alan of him, and Kathleen Robertson as the wicked witch (you know, Clare Arnold from Beverly Hills 90210). This show is for someone who enjoys a great classic with a modern twist and excellent production value. Here are a few highlights from the panel:

When Zooey was asked about playing two iconic characters like Dorothy and the upcoming (if it ever really happens) Janis Joplin movie. Her response was, "Well, that's a stretch... I mean they're both women. They have brown hair."
Alan Cummings was asked, Which is the hotter babe? The Wicked Witch or Dorothy?" His response that made the filled room laugh, "It's like a psychological thing. I think Dorothy and the witch represent the good and the bad and, you know, the darkness and the light. And so actually, it would be a good thing would be to have a combo."

I really had no idea about this show until today but it's definitely worth watching out for. As for Zooey, well we will always have her recent duet.

David Duchovny Returns to Small Screen and Maybe The Big Screen as Agent Mulder

BuzzSugar declared Californication as one of the reasons to watch TV this summer and we're counting down to the premiere along with our favorite Showtime series, Weeds (now hopefully improved with the adorable MK!). We've been waiting for the return of David Duchovny ever since the season finale of X-Files in 2002. We got one X-Files movie, but we were told many more were to come to fruition. Now it seems as if it may be one step closer to happening. DD said key members are on board and he's getting a script soon.

Another reason to tune into Showtime's Californication - the series includes Natascha McElhone, Jim Carrey's love interest from one of my all time favorite movies, The Truman Show!

NBC Comedy-ers Answer The Really Tough Questions

As you know Buzz is covering the Summer TCAs to report the latest network news as they promote their fall programming. Pop came along for the NBC ride and boy am I glad to be here. The network announced lots of great news (Welcome back Jerry Seinfeld), launching more online content a la Heroes and live chatting during your favorite shows. Here are some highlights so far from a Pop point of view:

Andy Samberg totally dodging the dating Natalie Portman question with this response: "pretty much every host that comes to the show, we all sleep with, so it's written into the contract when you get there --- so by those standards, yes"
Scrubs Exec-Producer, Bill Lawrence joking that the highly anticipated remake of Fletch won't happen since "Neither Zach or John would star in it, so i was screwed." He then shifted back the topic to TV but we're still holding out for that movie to make it on the big screen.
Tina Fey admitting that of NBC's two backstage life at a sketch comedy series, she had no doubt hers would be the one to last. Studio 60 is gone but Tina said she knew "100 percent" that her show would survive. She said, "I have a nasty SNL competitive streak in me, so I'm going to say 150 percent."
Adorable cardigan wearing John Krasinski feeling a blow to the ego as exec producer Greg Daniels admits that the Pam and Jim story line is a "B plot." At that point, John joked and stood up and said, "good night" to the crowd but lucky for us he did not actually leave.
Other observations: Jason Lee was practically mute (boo); Tina Fey is getting prettier everyday; Zach Braff is cuter in person while Andy Samberg needs a new hoodie.
