Steve Carell went home empty-handed at the Emmys on Sunday, but before he left, he took part in two of the evening's funniest moments. First, he deadpanned his way through a video with "Office" castmates Jenna Fischer, Rainn Wilson and John Krasinski dissing Carell as a movie star with a big ego. Then, he joined former "Daily Show" colleagues Stephen Colbert and Jon Stewart on stage for an exuberant celebration when actual Outstanding Lead Comedy Actor winner Ricky Gervais wasn't there to accept his award.

I can't let the 2007 Primetime Emmy Awards go by without sharing a few of my thoughts on the broadcast itself. Here's some of what was going through my head as the show went on:
- Despite all my fears about Ryan Seacrest's hosting, I actually thought he did a pretty great job. His writers were on the ball, getting in a few zingers — "'Weeds': A great show.

As far as the performances at this year's Emmys went, I was pretty entertained by this one, which is funny since the performers were animated! What did you think of the song-and-dance by "Family Guy"'s Stewie and Brian?

What a night! There were some expected wins, like America Ferrera winning for Outstanding Lead Actress in a Comedy and "The Sopranos" taking home the Emmy for Outstanding Drama Series. But then there were some major surprises, too.

One of the funniest moments of this year's Emmys was the "Don't Forget the Lyrics"-style battle between Kanye West and Rainn Wilson. "Lyrics" host Wayne Brady had the two of them sing a verse from Kanye's "Stronger," declaring Rainn the winner after Kanye swapped a "ya" for a "you." Rainn's so nerdy, but he pulled off Kanye's Kate Moss line with style — and Kanye seemed to handle the loss a little better than he did at, say, the VMAs.

The 2007 Primetime Emmy Awards were full of surprises, as no one series dominated the awards. "The Sopranos" won for Outstanding Drama Series, as expected, but "30 Rock" scored a surprise win in the Outstanding Comedy Series category. Other winners included America Ferrera, James Spader and "The Daily Show with Jon Stewart."

"The Sopranos" is taking home the Emmy for Outstanding Drama Series! The series took home the final award of the night, beating out "Grey's Anatomy," "Heroes," "House," and "Boston Legal." What do you think about this win?
