Mew's 2006 album And the Glass-Handed Kites was notable for the supreme ugliness of its cover art. But the Danish band's 2003 release, Frengers, is probably the superior album, and last week — at long last — it was released stateside.
I really love this track "156," which starts out sounding like bizarre, synthesized fantasy then morphs into a catchy pop number you might hear on "Laguna Beach."
