A Taste of Sundance, Wherever You Are

Can't join me in cold, crowded Park City for this year's Sundance Film Festival? No worries: The festival organizers have found ways for you to bring a little Sundance into your home - or onto your computer - no matter where you are.

One of the coolest features on the Sundance site this year is the premiere of 10 short films, one per day through Jan. 27. Each is online free to watch for just 24 hours, so you'll have to hustle and keep coming back - but if you miss them, several Sundance-approved short films can be purchased from the iTunes store for just $1.99.

If you're interested in the stories behind the films, the site also has a great selection of video interviews with some of this year's filmmakers, including Nanette Burstein, who made the buzzed-about documentary American Teen.

Finally, if you subscribe to digital cable and get the Sundance Channel, see if you have Sundance On Demand. If so, you're in for a treat: 10 previous Sundance films are making their TV debuts that way this month. And, of course, the regular Sundance Channel has some great programming right now, too, showcasing some big-deal films from Sundances past, including Donnie Darko and The Motorcycle Diaries. And hey, you won't even need to get snow in your shoes to experience them!
