Get Ready For the Outlander Premiere With Steamy, Action-Packed Pictures

Can you love two people at once? That's one of the central questions in Outlander, the TV translation of Diana Gabaldon's bestselling novels. Outlander premieres on Starz on Aug. 9, and the drama's first season will follow the story of 1940s combat nurse and newlywed Claire Randall (played by Caitriona Balfe) as told in Gabaldon's debut book in the series. Check out our review here.

When Claire inexplicably travels through time to 1700s Scotland, she soon finds herself torn between two men in two different centuries. Actor Sam Heughan will portray Scottish warrior Jamie, while Tobias Menzies will pull double duty playing Claire's husband, Frank Randall, and his ancestor, Black Jack Randall. We've got an early look at the show in pictures, and if you missed it, be sure to check out the video from our behind-the-scenes visit to the Outlander set. Courtesy of Starz
