Nowadays there are a lot of resources out there for planning brides-to-be, so we're taking out some of the guesswork by narrowing it down to the best, most creative books available. Sites like Style Me Pretty and Green Wedding Shoes offer all kinds of fresh, original inspiration, but it's nice for brides to have a material reference on hand, too. From traditional etiquette guides to unorthodox planning manuals, here are seven books for those preparing to say "I do."
Wedding Must Reads
Each month we sift through the best new titles for our monthly must reads. Since there is no shortage of books about weddings, I thought a wedding season version of our must reads would help out brides, bridesmaids, mother of the brides, and anyone else dealing with wedding planning. I asked my co-workers here at Sugar HQ, as well as my happily married friends, for their personal recommendations and came up with this list of books that will save you much time and many headaches. Check it out, and add any other recommendations at the end!

What's Buzzworthy: Wedding and Marriage Novels
What with this being wedding season and all — and with the dawn of this summer's TV series "The Starter Wife," which is based on a novel — I challenged you to Buzzworthy novels about weddings and marriage, titling them wedding books. Weddings certainly seem to be easy fodder for stories because they're so emotional — and because there are many things that can go hilariously awry. Here are the books Buzz readers picked:
Shopaholic Ties the Knot by Sophie Kinsella
Clearly a popular choice, this title was bookmarked by 5 readers! missyosigirl and Pink_Lipstick picked it, along with gruaig_rua who says: "I adore anything this woman writes!! Laugh out loud funny!"
shafiii says, "This book is the a bride's worst nightmare, when shes caught between her mother and mother-in-law. If you want a funny wedding book that will hold you till the end, this is the one. Shopaholic Ties the Knot will always be my favorite."
And woodycakes claims, "If you think your wedding was difficult to plan, go read this and feel so much better — and get a great laugh too!"
This title was chosen by woodycakes, who writes: "Before writing The Starter Wife, Gigi Levangie Grazer wrote this hilarious take on how Clarissa Alpert, LA's 'It Girl' finally gets over her singlehood and decides she's got to be married... This book will make sure we get to know the man we marry or plan on marrying before doing anything on impulse. This book was really easy and fun to read. I couldn't put it down from the moment I met Clarissa."
Three more good ones, so read more
