Thanks to all of you who responded to my challenge to recast a '90s TV show that was a big hit for Brooke Shields: Suddenly Susan. There are quite a few characters on the show but I picked a batch to recast and you came through with flying colors.

The main character of Susan is a fun one to think about because she has to be someone who people want to root for even though she's full of flaws and quirks. Debra Messing comes to mind for this type of TV role and she'd probably make a great Susan — good thinking, ktpotat. I also think amadaarwen is on the right track with the suggestion of bombshell Heather Graham.

As for the supporting cast SugarKat's suggestion of Grant Show for Susan's love interest and boss Jack Richmond is brilliant. I also liked genesisrocks's idea of Charlie Sheen in that role. As for a wise-cracking funny lady to replace Kathy Griffin as Vicki, Miss Senorita is on the money with Janeane Garofalo. Finally, you will never get an argument from me when it comes to casting Freddy Rodriguez as Luis (another great idea from genesisrocks!).

It was hard to pick a winner but I had to go with a lead actress who I think would be totally lovable in this role paired with an adorable suggestion for her boss — congrats to Miss Shapes!

Do you remember that other TV show starring Brooke Shields as a high-powered career woman? It was Suddenly Susan and it's the recast challenge for this week. The sitcom was on NBC from 1996 to 2000 and followed a fictitious magazine called The Gate, headquartered in my lovely town, San Francisco.

So, who could replace the stunning Ms. Shields as Susan Keane, a woman who writes a column about being single after leaving her wealthy fiance at the alter? Her boss is her ex-finance's pushy brother, Jack (originally played by Judd Nelson), and let's also recast some of Susan's coworkers, including the hilariously droll restaurant critic Vicki (Kathy Griffin) and photographer Luis (Nestor Carbonell, now Richard "Totally Not Wearing Eyeliner" Alpert on Lost!). Finally, who would you cast as Susan's grandmother Nana (Barbara Barrie), in whom she confides?

Last week I asked for some new faces to take on the roles in one of my all-time favorite '80s movies: Can't Buy Me Love. You all chipped in some fantastic recast ideas, thanks for playing along!

Checking out the suggestions for recasting the gorgeous and popular Cindy was especially fun. I think applez5503's idea for Amanda Bynes is a good one (although she's probably more of a sweetheart than the character is!) as is chasingjamie's idea of Hayden Panettiere and lrakins54's suggestion of Emma Roberts.

I also dug the ideas for Cindy's BFFs. blondie829 is on the right track picking CW actresses Shanae Grimes and Jessica Szohr because neither is quite ready for leading lady status but they would fit into the high school scenery well. A couple of you also thought of AnnaLynne McCord for one of the girlfriends which cracks me up.

But of course it came down to the role that made Patrick Dempsey a star. It had to be an actor with that same manic, nerdy ambition to climb to the top of the high school popularity heap and I think aimeeb got it just right. Congrats aimeeb!

I'm excited about recasting this one because it's one of my favorite '80s movies of all time, and because the characters are awesome teenage archetypes that will be fun to recast with modern-day young actors. It's the movie that helped make McDreamy a star: Can't Buy Me Love!

Who could replace Patrick Dempsey as Ronald Miller, a high school nerd trying to climb that social ladder to the top? And what about the most beautiful, popular girl in school, Cindy Mancini, whom Ronald bribes to help make him popular?

Let's also recast Cindy's two best friends Barbara and Patty who are baffled by the fact Cindy's hanging out with a nerd. Finally, find a new actor for the role of Ronald's bratty little brother Chuckie Miller, originally played by Seth Green!

Last week I challenged you to think up a new cast for one of my favorite childhood sitcoms, Blossom. Finding just the right gal to play the smart and (arguably) fashion-forward Blossom Russo is actually pretty hard! She's not totally the girl next door and is kind of an old soul. That's why I think LolaSvelt is on the right track with an actress like Ellen Page in that role. I can also see Emma Roberts playing Blossom as JennyJen15 suggests because she seems really intelligent.

As for the boys, I really love Lorelei LeFae's idea for John Stamos to play the song-writing dad. Hello? That's so perfect! I loved the character Joey and think it doesn't get more clever than chicbutgeeky's idea to have another Lawrence boy, Andrew, take over the role.

In the end I went with a well-rounded cast that even includes an adorable idea for the recasting of Blossom's BFF, Six. Congrats to cordata! To see who cordata thought up, along with a new cast photo, read more

Guess who's coming to DVD for the first time? Oh, I guess the picture gave it away: Blossom! Seasons one and two will hit stores on Jan. 27. In light of this momentous occasion, I thought we could try our hand at recasting the show.

Who could play level-headed teen with a flair for fashion, Blossom Russo (originally played by Mayim Bialik)? And then there's her family: Brothers Joey ("Whoa!") and recovering alcoholic and drug addict Anthony, and their dad Nick, who's doing the best he can to raise the three kids. Finally, the series really would not have been the same without Blossom's energetic friend Six (played by Jenna von Oÿ who was really impressive at talking at the speed of light).

For this week's recast challenge, I turned to a Christmastime-y romantic comedy, While You Were Sleeping, and the suggested cast lists were really excellent. I had a tough time deciding on just one cast because they each had at least a few perfect actors for these roles. I particularly enjoyed all the smart, lovely ladies suggested for the main role of Lucy, like Nitachequita's idea of Joanna Garcia, sorano916's suggestion of Evangeline Lilly, and amanda44ni's idea of Elizabeth Reaser.

It also seems like the character of Peter Callaghan was a fun one to recast and I loved thinking about Brandon Routh (as suggested by niniwiskapoo24) or James Marsden (alethe16's idea) in the role.

My favorite overall cast this week, however, comes from mommapoppins! To see who mommapoppins thought up, along with a new cast photo, read more

I was thinking today that one of my favorite rom-coms set around Christmastime, While You Were Sleeping, would make for a fun recast challenge. Sandra Bullock is super adorable in this movie and it's hard to think of replacing her, but let's give it a whirl anyway.

So which headstrong and endearing actress would you cast as Lucy (Bullock), the a lonely fare collector on the Chicago "L"? What dreamy actor could you imagine in the role of Peter Callaghan (played by Peter Gallagher), the commuter whom Lucy admires from afar (well, and eventually up close)? And what about Peter's more rugged brother, Jack (Bill Pullman), with whom Lucy ends up falling in love?

Then there's the quirky Callaghan family, including Peter and Jack's godfather Saul (Jack Warden), the boys' father Ox (Peter Boyle), and their mother Midge (Micole Mercurio). Oh, and I think we ought to recast Lucy's caring (if not a little slimy) neighbor Joe (Michael Rispoli).

Last week I asked you all to brainstorm some new faces for the Ben Stiller hit, Meet the Parents. I had fun reading all the ideas put forth for Gaylord "Greg" Focker including krae85's suggestion of Jack Black. I'm also glad eegle1234 thought of Sarah Michelle Gellar to play Pam, as I think that's such a great idea.

To me, the movie rests on just how intimidating (yet funny) the actor playing Jack Byrnes can be. Amanda6783's idea for Bruce Willis is a really good one, as is lemuse20's suggestion of Christopher Walken. Both actors totally get how to be intimidating and have great comedic timing.

But it was sundew's idea for Jack that was the hardest to resist. Congrats sundew!

Since we're coming upon the time of year when lots of folks bring home that special someone to meet the family, I thought the Ben Stiller comedy Meet the Parents would be a fun movie to recast.

Who would you cast as the young couple in love: Male nurse Gaylord "Greg" Focker, and his fiancee Pam Byrnes? Then there's Pam's overprotective father, Jack Byrnes, a retired CIA operative played by an intimidating Robert De Niro. Blythe Danner as Pam's mother, Dina Byrnes, is superbly clueless in the role — who has a similarly sweet, calming manner? And then there's my favorite character to recast, Kevin Rawley (originally played by Owen Wilson), Pam's rich ex-fiance who is really good at woodworking.
