Rob Debuts New Twilight, Rihanna Wins Big — The Best of the 2012 MTV VMAs

Rihanna started tonight's MTV VMAs with a rowdy performance of her new song "Cockiness," and host Kevin Hart was on stage afterward to start the jokes coming. He verged into some potentially awkward territory when he tried to end the feud between Drake and Chris Brown, both of whom went on to win awards later. Kevin even leaped to Kristen Stewart's defense in his opening riff about mistakes. Katy Perry popped up to present the first award, best pop video, to One Direction. One Direction also later claimed best new artist. Robert Pattinson, meanwhile, joined his Twilight buddies Peter Facinelli, Taylor Lautner, and more to debut a new clip from their upcoming Breaking Dawn Part 2.

As for the performances, Miley Cyrus introduced Pink, who put on a boisterous show. Frank Ocean, welcomed by Zoe Saldana, had one of the night's most moving onstage appearances and was followed by Lil Wayne, One Direction, and Green Day. Alica Keys, who took in the fun alongside husband Swizz Beatz and their son Egypt, debuted her new song "Girl on Fire." Taylor Swift also wore her signature red to belt out "We Are Never Ever Getting Back Together." The final Moonman went to video of the year honoree Rihanna for "We Fell in Love." She made a triumphant speech after brushing some dirt off her shoulder — make sure to check out who wore what on the red carpet and the full list of 2012 MTV VMAs winners.

Vote on the 2010 Grammy Performances!

The ratings are coming in for the 2010 Grammys, and they're up!
Recap of Performances from the 2010 Grammy Award Telecast

The ratings are coming in for the 2010 Grammys, and they're up! This year's telecast earned 35 percent more viewers than last year, giving the award show its best viewership in at least five years. How come? My money is on the performances of the evening, which felt even more spectacular than in the past. Between Michael Jackson's 3-D tribute, and Pink spinning from the ceiling, there was plenty to ogle. Ready to recap the biggest ones of the night? Let's go over them, and tell me what you think: love it or leave it?

Once the fun on stage at last night's Grammys was over, the winners headed to the press room to show off their newly acquired gold.

Once the fun on stage at last night's Grammys was over, the winners headed to the press room to show off their newly acquired gold. Taylor Swift had her arms full with her four statues and opened up about how she manages to hold them all. Lady Gaga, meanwhile, tried to balance her two awards with her futuristic hat as Carrie Underwood's Grammy practically blended into her gown. Presenter Sheryl Crow joined Jennifer Lopez, who looked hot showing some leg in Versace. The Kings of Leon kept the party going, with the Followill boys chatting about celebrating their win with family. Fergie and her Black Eyed Peas boys were also there to celebrate their big evening — make sure to check out all the winners!

Battle of the Boy Bands: Green Day vs. Jonas Brothers

It's the ultimate red carpet boy band showdown: Green Day versus the Jonas Brothers.

It's the ultimate red carpet boy band showdown: Green Day versus the Jonas Brothers. Green Day's Mike Dirnt, Billie Joe Armstrong, and Tré Cool emote major rock star presence in their array of striped suits, funky footwear, and cool hair. On the flip side, Jonas Brothers — Kevin, Joe, and Nick — opted for sleeker suits, glossy shoes, and suave 'dos. Two totally different music genres, two totally different looks. I know my favorite. Which is yours?

Beyonce, Jay-Z and Katy's Big Night in Berlin For the EMAs!

Stars of the music world hit the red carpet and the stage at tonight's MTV EMAs held in Berlin, Germany.

Stars of the music world hit the red carpet and the stage at tonight's MTV EMAs held in Berlin, Germany. The ladies were decked out in black and cream, with Beyonce and Katy Perry standing out in their long gowns. Bar Refaeli looked gorgeous as usual, but the dress was a bit of a departure from her usual style. The guys were the one with the stand out makeup trend of the night — guyliner  — though the Jonas Brothers weren't feeling the need to participate. Tell us what you think about all the looks here on FabSugar UK.

Inside, Jay-Z performed and looked adorable posing with his wife backstage while Brody Jenner smiled with Miranda Cosgrove. She also stepped out in a sexy red costume and was the biggest winner of the night taking home three awards! Lady Gaga, U2 and Jay-Z were also among the artists who will be packing up their statues for the flight home. Katy Perry had a handful of costume changes, but her man Russell Brand wasn't there to give her a hand with that — check out all the big performances here.

On the Market: Spend Some Green on this Green Day House

While Green Day lead singer and guitarist Billie Joe Armstrong may hail from working-class roots, his Bay Area home, which is now on the market for $4.85 million, shows that he's certainly not living on a boulevard of broken dreams.

While Green Day lead singer and guitarist Billie Joe Armstrong may hail from working-class roots, his Bay Area home, which is now on the market for $4.85 million, shows that he's certainly not living on a boulevard of broken dreams.
I wouldn't read anything into the decor of the house, or Armstrong's punk sensibilities (or lack thereof), since I'm sure that this house has been staged within an inch of its life. Whoever staged it seems to have taken a little too much inspiration from Napa Style, Pottery Barn, and a really unfortunate mix of poorly sourced Moroccan influences.

The house itself isn't bad, though it's certainly not one of my favorite celebrity homes. To see why, and to view lots of interior and exterior photos, read more

Should Wal-Mart Censor Artists?

It seems fair for a store to make decisions about what it wants to sell.

It seems fair for a store to make decisions about what it wants to sell. For example, if an owner of a small business opposes vulgarity, she might pass on selling CDs with explicit language.

When Wal-Mart, the largest record store in the country, refuses to sell an artist's record because it contains bad language and insists that it will do so only after the band has released an edited, "clean" version — this is de facto censorship, and, in my opinion, an abuse of corporate power.

Green Day's album "21st Century Breakdown" won't be sold in Wal-Mart because the band refused to edit it for language and content, and knowing their reputation, probably never will. Basically, Wal-Mart is preventing a large portion of an artist's audience from enjoying the artist's authentic work.

Do you think Wal-Mart should be allowed to dictate these standards to artists? Should Green Day suck it up and release a Wal-Mart friendly version?
