Heidi Klum's Halloween costumes and parties are the stuff of fashion legend, so it's fitting that this year the supermodel will dress up as the legendary Cleopatra.

Klum worked with Martin Izquierdo, who has created wings for the Victoria's Secret Fashion Show, to design the bold gold dress, cape, and headpiece she'll wear at her 13th annual Halloween party. In the past, Klum has cooked up costumes ranging from a purple-and-red robot to the forbidden fruit from the Garden of Eden.

This will be the first time Klum has celebrated Halloween, which she says is her favorite time of year, without her husband Seal since their marriage ended. Her party will take place at the new New York dance club Finale on Oct. 31. A guest list hasn't yet been announced, but in the past Michael Kors, Ellen von Unwerth, Doutzen Kroes, and Tyson Beckford have attended the bash.

But can anyone outdo Klum's costumes? A behind-the-scenes look at the making of Klum's costume below, plus a glimpse at her costumes from the past here in the gallery.

Angelina Jolie Wants to Play a Smarter, Less-Sexy Cleopatra

Angelina Jolie recently opened up about her family life, career, and partner Brad Pitt's manliness in an extensive interview with the UK's Telegraph, while also touching on the life of another famous sex symbol: Cleopatra.

Angelina Jolie recently opened up about her family life, career, and partner Brad Pitt's manliness in an extensive interview with the UK's Telegraph, while also touching on the life of another famous sex symbol: Cleopatra. The actress is set to play the iconic queen in an upcoming film directed by David Fincher, but she says this will be much more than a modern remake. It will feature a completely different Cleopatra, one claimed to be closer to the real woman.

Angelina says even she misunderstood the Egyptian leader and strong mother who spoke five languages. Comparing her vision to that seen in Elizabeth Taylor's epic film, Angelina explains: "My performance will never be as lovely as Elizabeth's. We are trying to get into a different truth about her as a pharaoh in history and not as a sex symbol, because she really wasn't. Even this idea of her having many lovers — it was possible that it was only two. She is very interesting, but she wasn't a great beauty."

The difference in portrayal didn't originate with Angelina, but rather with the academic biography Cleopatra: A Life by Stacy Schiff, which will serve as the basis of the movie. The book presents Cleopatra as a groundbreaking female leader who used her smarts rather than sex appeal to rule. Do you think Angelina can pull off the role?

5 Things Cleopatra and Angelina Jolie Have in Common

Long live the tabloid queen of Egypt.

Long live the tabloid queen of Egypt. Today we learned that Angelina Jolie could play Cleopatra in a new movie based on an upcoming biography of the famous and infamous historical heroine.

Aside from the fact that Cleopatra may not have actually been the beauty she's often depicted as, Jolie seems like a good choice for the part. The two women have more in common than a fondness for dark eyeliner and statement earrings. Here are five facts that might surprise you.

  1. Both had questionable liaisons with their brothers. Angelina stirred up controversy for her affectionate kiss with her brother, James Haven, at the 2000 Oscars. Still, that's nothing compared to Cleopatra, who was forced to marry her younger brother Ptolemy XII and, when he died, her even younger brother, Ptolemy XIII.
  2. Both were part of a power couple. While stuck in her second sibling marriage, Cleopatra had an affair with Roman emperor Julius Caesar. When he died, she married Marc Antony, in what was thought to be a power play. I wonder if they had a ridiculous couple name like Brangelina? Cleotony?

Three more fun facts after the jump.

Director Scott Rudin has already reportedly snagged the movie rights to a new biography about Cleopatra, called Cleopatra: A Life. The book doesn't hit shelves until November, but Rudin's team is already working on the film with Angelina Jolie in mind as the Queen of the Nile. It wouldn't be the first time Jolie tackled ancient history — she played Olympias in Alexander. What's your take — can you see Jolie as Cleopatra?

Can you walk like an Egyptian? Idinky can. She got all bedazzled and even posed like Cleopatra. The wig, the white dress, the head piece, the gold jewels; all of it makes her foxy Cleopatra. Well done. I'm so glad my Fabby Halloween guide helped.

Unfortunately she didn't give us the details of her costume. Come back and tell us.

Congrats to idinky!

Everyone else, submit your looks and I might feature you on FabSugar!

Ready For a 3-D Rock 'n' Roll Musical Version of Cleopatra?

Yes, let's review those facts: Director Steven Soderbergh is planning a movie about Egyptian queen Cleopatra.

Yes, let's review those facts:

  1. Director Steven Soderbergh is planning a movie about Egyptian queen Cleopatra.
  2. It will be a live-action 3-D movie.
  3. It will also be a rock 'n' roll musical.
  4. Soderbergh is hoping to get Catherine Zeta-Jones to play "Cleo" and Hugh Jackman to play her lover, Marc Antony.

After the initial "whaaa?" reaction, I'm warming to this idea, especially because the band Guided by Voices has apparently already written the music for the movie. What do you think? Could you see this working, or does it sound like a big hot mess?
