James Franco stopped by The Late Show in NYC last night to tape an interview with David Letterman that airs Friday. The actor was there to discuss his latest release, Your Highness, which was directed by Pineapple Express's David Gordon Green and also stars Natalie Portman and Eastbound and Down's Danny McBride. James popped up on the East Coast following a stint in LA promoting the project. James, who will get his Master's from NYU this May, has apparently been hired to lead a graduate class for their Tisch School of the Arts on adapting poetry into short films. He'll fit that latest commitment into an already packed schedule that includes another stint on the promotional trail before Rise of the Apes is out this Summer.

Your Highness Trailer: Medieval Madness
Ready for raunch in another century? The red-band trailer for Your Highness has landed, and it is quite dirty, and quite medieval. James Franco plays Fabious, a knight who must rescue his fiancée (Zooey Deschanel) when she's kidnapped by a villainous sorcerer (Justin Theroux). Unfortunately, Fabious has to bring his brother Thadeous, played by Eastbound and Down's Danny McBride, a prince more prone to laziness than gallantry. Natalie Portman also stars as Isabel, a tough girl who accompanies the men on their quest.
The trailer is like every teenage boy's fantasy come true: Portman strips down amid dialogue that will make your hair curl if you're not down with foul language (and this is just a preview). It's brought to you by David Gordon Green, who's responsible for Pineapple Express, so if you loved that movie, this may be the follow-up you've been waiting for (and if so, check out this gallery of photos from the film).
Check out the trailer (again: warning, it's the red-band version) when you read more
First Look: Franco, Portman, Deschanel Go Medieval in Your Highness
I've been waiting to see James Franco headline another comedy since Pineapple Express, and this Spring I'll get my wish. In Your Highness, Franco joins a star-studded cast that includes the likes of Zooey Deschanel, Natalie Portman, and Danny McBride for a medieval comedic adventure. Get your first look at the suits of armor, the period costumes, and the long, luscious locks (and not just on the ladies). The film hits theaters on April 8, 2011.

Pineapple Express Folks Reteam For Your Highness
Actor Danny McBride has been getting more and more recognition in recent years by starring in things like Tropic Thunder, Pineapple Express, Superbad, and now the HBO series Eastbound and Down, which he also helped create. Now he's written a comedy script and gotten a studio (Universal), a director (Pineapple Express director David Gordon Green), and a star (James Franco) to play a lead role alongside him.
Titled Your Highness, the comedy "follows two spoiled and arrogant princes in a medieval fantasy setting. When an evil wizard casts a spell on their father and kidnaps the older prince's fiance, they're forced to go on a quest to save their family and the kingdom."
I can't wait to see these two together again onscreen, and I'm glad McBride keeps getting more work because he's such a funny addition to any comedic lineup. And we know Franco rarely fails to delight!
