All of the new DVD releases hit stores (and Netflix) on Tuesdays. So each week in What to Netflix: New DVD Tuesday, I sort through the best of the batch and tell you what to add to your queue. In addition to my selections below you can add M. Night Shyamalan's The Happening and Gus Van Sant's Paranoid Park to your queue today. Oh, and maybe there are folks out there excited to bring home You Don't Mess With the Zohan? Maybe?

Very Funny TV-to-DVD
Yee-haw! This week brings us more TV-to-DVD with two favorites headed to a home theater near you:

  • 30 Rock: Season Two
Tina Fey has been on a roll with her frequent appearances on Saturday Night Live but come Oct. 30 she'll return to her day job, 30 Rock. Is there anything this woman can't do? I for one will be adding this DVD of the show's second season to my collection. Special features include commentary by Fey, deleted scenes, a peek at the table read for the episode titled "Cooter," and a featurette called, "The Academy of Television Arts and Sciences Presents: An Evening With 30 Rock."
  • How I Met Your Mother: Season Three
Another adorable television comedy I would love to own (hint, hint parents). Special features include Lily and Marshall's honeymoon videos, additional scenes, behind-the-scenes footage, an unrated gag reel and, of course, music videos!

  • One more after the jump, so read more

Box Office: Kung Fu Panda Chops the Competition

Po the panda and friends kicked some box office butt this weekend, winning the No.

Po the panda and friends kicked some box office butt this weekend, winning the No. 1 spot handily with an estimated $60 million over the weekend. Kung Fu Panda is the second-best opening DreamWorks Animation has ever had behind Shrek the Third. In second place came the Adam Sandler and Judd Apatow comedy You Don't Mess with the Zohan, earning a healthy $40 million.

Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull was bumped to the third spot and has grossed an estimated $253 million. The good news for the Sex and the City movie is that it has almost passed the $100 million mark domestically. The bad news is it experienced a steep decline that put it at No. 4. The super scary flick The Strangers dropped to No. 5.

According to Variety, box office watchers had expected way closer results between Kung Fu Panda and Zohan so a big congrats is in order to Jack Black and crew!

Will You Ever See You Don't Mess With the Zohan?

I don't mean this weekend or even in the theaters, because I'm pretty sure the answer might be "no" (and quite possibly "heeeellllllll no").

I don't mean this weekend or even in the theaters, because I'm pretty sure the answer might be "no" (and quite possibly "heeeellllllll no"). But when the Adam Sandler comedy You Don't Mess With the Zohan comes out on DVD, will you rent it? What if it's on in the background at a friend's house some night? Or let's say you're flat on your back with the flu and Zohan fires his hairdryer at you courtesy of TBS? What then?

Adam Sandler Is a Man For All Generations

Adam Sandler went with one of his standard super casual outfits for the premiere of You Don't Mess With the Zohan in LA last night, but he still had plenty of pretty ladies to pose with on the red carpet.

Adam Sandler went with one of his standard super casual outfits for the premiere of You Don't Mess With the Zohan in LA last night, but he still had plenty of pretty ladies to pose with on the red carpet. His co-star Emmanuelle looked gorgeous as usual, while his wife Jackie showed off her already growing baby bump. This has been a big week for Adam between confirming his baby news and promotional tour, and it's about to get even sweeter —on Sunday he'll receive the MTV Generation Award at the Movie Awards! We are already gearing up for the big event, and now we're excited to have a funny acceptance speech to look forward to.

Adam Sandler to Star in Judd Apatow's Next Film

It won't be the first collaboration between Adam Sandler and Judd Apatow — that honorable title goes to the hairdresser comedy You Don't Mess With the Zohan, which Apatow apparently wrote — but it will be the first Apatow-directed movie that Adam Sandler stars in.

It won't be the first collaboration between Adam Sandler and Judd Apatow — that honorable title goes to the hairdresser comedy You Don't Mess With the Zohan, which Apatow apparently wrote — but it will be the first Apatow-directed movie that Adam Sandler stars in.

Everyone's remaining tight-lipped about what, exactly, the project will be about, though so far Sandler's costars will include Apatow's wife Leslie Mann, and Seth Rogen (of course!). The Apatow machine is unstoppable, it seems. In addition to Zohan, he's got his hands in a gazillion other things, including Drillbit Taylor (which he produced), Pineapple Express (which he wrote), Forgetting Sarah Marshall (produced), Step Brothers (produced), The Year One (producing), and Pure Imagination (going to produce). Everyone wants a piece of the Apatow these days.
