When a good idea strikes in Hollywood, everyone wants some of the action. Case in point: two of this year's big action films, Olympus Has Fallen and White House Down, are built on nearly identical premises. Fairy tales, natural disasters, and the wondrous hidden world of insects have also provided fodder for movies with unfortunately coinciding release dates. Let's take a look back at some of the more memorable twin movies!
Channing Lets Loose on the Dance Floor With Jamie and Maggie in Cancun
Channing Tatum donned an all-white suit to hit the dance floor with costars Jamie Foxx and Maggie Gyllenhaal at a party to celebrate their film, White House Down, in Cancun, Mexico, last night. Channing, who was sporting scruffy new facial hair, showed off his dance moves alongside Jamie, and also paired off for a dance with Maggie, who wore a white Apiece Apart dress. Jamie, who plays President James Sawyer in the action flick, posed with Channing in front of a mock presidential portrait for the promotional fun ahead of the film's June 28 release.
Channing has a lot going on at the moment. He has been spending the bulk of his time in London with his pregnant wife, Jenna Dewan, while on location to shoot Jupiter Ascending. Although he has been keeping up a busy schedule, the expectant pair snuck in a recent double date with another A-list couple. Channing and Jenna paired up with his Jupiter Ascending costar Mila Kunis and her boyfriend, Ashton Kutcher, for a date night at the London Opera last weekend.
See All the Pictures of Channing Tatum Looking Hot in White House Down
We're just two months away from White House Down's June 28 release, but why wait until then to see Channing Tatum looking all hot and ready for action? Tatum plays John Cale, a DC policeman who gets caught in the White House when the building is attacked by enemy forces. Suddenly, it's in John's hands to save the president (Jamie Foxx) — and to look smokin' hot in the process. Go ahead and check out the film stills, and don't be ashamed to wallpaper your desktop with them.

White House Down Trailer: Channing Tatum Will Be Your Hero, America
Judging by the recent release Olympus Has Fallen and this new trailer for White House Down, I don't know why you'd ever want to visit the president's home. At least in White House Down, you have Channing Tatum, who is geared up to make you feel all safe and protected. Tatum plays John Cale, a police officer who's taking a tour of 1600 Pennsylvania Avenue with his daughter when the building suddenly gets attacked. Coincidentally, he's also up for a job as a Secret Service agent, and it looks like he gets a prime opportunity to prove his skill in protecting the president (Jamie Foxx).

You don't get to see much in the trailer aside from explosions, and Tatum only really speaks to instruct the president to "go, go, go!" but it looks like your standard Summer action flick . . . and a lot like Olympus Has Fallen. And yet director Roland Emmerich is a guy who knows how to attack the White House (see: Independence Day), and Tatum is here doing his best John McClane impression and looking great as usual, so there's that. White House Down comes out June 28, and you can watch the trailer after the jump.
See Channing Tatum in the New White House Down Poster
The trailer for White House Down is coming soon, and as if we weren't already excited about seeing Channing Tatum in the preview for the action flick, we're getting a nice look at him in the new poster. Tatum is loaded up with weapons, wearing a dirty tank top, and looking determined to defend his country and president (played by Jamie Foxx). Rugged Tatum? I'll take it. See a larger version of the poster after the break.
