New Year's Eve

Garry Marshall's latest ensemble comedy features a whole bushel of A-listers. Everyone from Ashton Kutcher to Robert De Niro makes an appearance in the flick that features stories of people experiencing New Year's Eve in New York City. The movie also stars Glee's Lea Michele as an aspiring singer, Michelle Pfeiffer as a woman on a mission to cross items off her bucket list, Zac Efron as the bike messenger who helps her, Katherine Heigl as Jon Bon Jovi's super angry ex-girlfriend, and many others. Though the film isn't the best in the genre, it's fun to see all the stars assembled and matched-up together. Extras include director's commentary, a gag reel, and deleted scenes.

Haywire

Real-life mixed martial arts fighter Gina Carano stars as Mallory Kane, a skilled black ops soldier on a mission for revenge after she is betrayed. Director Steven Soderbergh wrote the story around Carano after seeing her in a match, which means her butt-kicking skills are the focus of this action thriller. Also showcased? Antonio Banderas, amazing chase sequences, Channing Tatum, and lots and lots of hand-to-hand combat. Extras include a featuring looking at "the men of Haywire" and Gina Carano's training for the movie.

Madonna

Madonna Goes Bold to Premiere W.E. and Celebrates Her Oscar Nomination

Madonna stepped out in an over-the-top Marchesa dress for the NYC premiere of W.E.

Madonna stepped out in an over-the-top Marchesa dress for the NYC premiere of W.E. last night. It was a wise dress choice for Madonna — Marchesa designer Georgina Chapman is married to Harvey Weinstein, who produced Madonna's film. Madonna even gave Harvey a shout-out when she accepted her Golden Globe for best song. Director Madonna took her film's stars, Andrea Riseborough and James D'Arcy, down the red carpet, which also hosted Julia Stiles and Ivanka Trump.

Madonna's fashion choices tend to make headlines, and with the help of Arianne Phillips, W.E. was nominated for an Oscar for best costume design this morning. In addition to an Academy Award appearance, Madonna has added Super Bowl Sunday to her schedule. She has the honor of doing this year's half-time performance.

W.E. Trailer: Madonna Takes On Historical Romance

If you saw The King's Speech last year and were intrigued by the storyline between the king's brother King Edward VIII and Wallis Simpson, then you'll probably be interested in the trailer for W.E.

If you saw The King's Speech last year and were intrigued by the storyline between the king's brother King Edward VIII and Wallis Simpson, then you'll probably be interested in the trailer for W.E. Madonna directed and cowrote the film, which depicts the relationship between the former king who abdicated the throne to be with the woman he loved, American socialite Simpson. It's told in flashback through a modern-day woman in New York, Wallie Winthrop (Abbie Cornish), who is reading the letters of the old lovers. Wallie experiences a parallel to their torrid affair when she embarks on her own with a Russian security guard (Oscar Isaac).

The trailer makes the King Edward and Wallis Simpson story look heartbreakingly romantic, though I found myself less interested in Wallie's romance happening in the present day. I'm also curious to see how Madonna has handled the film, and though we have to wait until February 2012 to see it, you can watch the trailer when you keep reading.

Madonna Putting On Her Director's Cap For W.E.

Always one to recreate herself (and her outfits), Madonna is now switching things up yet again with W.E., a biopic of the controversial affair between King Edward VIII and Wallis Simpson which resulted in him giving up his throne for love.

Always one to recreate herself (and her outfits), Madonna is now switching things up yet again with W.E., a biopic of the controversial affair between King Edward VIII and Wallis Simpson which resulted in him giving up his throne for love. While an Edward has not been decided, this year's buzzy Oscar nominee Vera Farmiga is eying the role of Wallis. As for the material girl, did I mention she's directing and co-writing the script?!

Madonna has taken on directorial duties once before for Filth and Wisdom, which made the festival rounds, but W.E. appears to be a much bigger undertaking. Add this to the recent news of her referee-ing on Jerry Seinfeld's The Marriage Ref, and it only further solidifies her reputation as an entertainment chameleon — even though I'm admittedly apprehensive about this behind-the-camera gig. She's proven that she has creative vision needed in a director, but can she pull this off?

When You're in a Relationship, Do You Say "We"?

It might be sort of pretentious, but apparently using the pronoun "we" when referring to you and your partner is good for your relationship.

It might be sort of pretentious, but apparently using the pronoun "we" when referring to you and your partner is good for your relationship. Those smug people over at UC Berkeley say so anyway — researchers there found that couples who use we/us/our are better at solving conflicts and experience less psychological stress. Do you use the royal relationship "we"?
