Ender's Game Trailer: Harrison Ford Raises a Space Army

I hope you haven't grown weary of seeing young adult novels on the big screen, because we've got another one for you.

I hope you haven't grown weary of seeing young adult novels on the big screen, because we've got another one for you. Ender's Game is set in a future where humans are being dominated by an alien race and start training young teens to command their star fleets (it's kind of like kiddie Star Trek). The most promising student is Ender (Asa Butterfield), who enters Battle School and starts learning under the tutelage of a gruff colonel (Harrison Ford).

First of all, I can't believe how much Butterfield has aged since Hugo — his voice is much deeper, and he looks ready to kick some ass in this preview. In addition to that, this film looks pretty awesome. Not only are the visual effects exciting, but I'm also interested in the moral dilemma brought up in the trailer about training kids to be military leaders. Plus, the cast boasts many Oscar nominees (which this trailer is happy to remind you of). The film hits theaters Nov. 1, but you can watch the trailer when you read more

Jessica Chastain Reunites With The Help Cast to Party Pre Oscars

Tonight, Women in Film held its sixth annual pre-Oscars event honoring females in the movie industry at LA restaurant Fig & Olive.

Tonight, Women in Film held its sixth annual pre-Oscars event honoring females in the movie industry at LA restaurant Fig & Olive. Last year's best supporting actress winner, Octavia Spencer, played cohost for the event, and two of her costars from The Help were also in attendance. Viola Davis walked the red carpet with her husband, while Jessica Chastain made a late arrival to the soiree after fighting LA traffic. The event, sponsored by MAC, Max Mara, and Perrier-Jouet, honors women who are recognized for their work both in front of — and behind — the camera.

Of course, men were welcome at the bash, as well. Director David O. Russell, whose film Silver Linings Playbook is up for best picture on Sunday, attended. So did Daniel Radcliffe, who chatted up Jessica inside the party. Beyond Jessica, several of this year's female Oscar nominees were also in attendance, including best supporting actress nominee Jacki Weaver. Jacki told us her husband is working and won't be able to be her date for the Oscars, so he's throwing a viewing party at their apartment in Sydney for friends and family instead. Even though the time difference means they'll be watching the festivites around lunchtime, she told us tuxedos will be required! Join our viewing party on Sunday when PopSugar's live coverage of the Oscars kicks off at 5:30 p.m. EST/2:30 p.m. PST.

Jessica Chastain Gets to Work and Scores a Major Fashion Accolade

Jessica Chastain was joined on the NYC set of The Disappearance of Eleanor Rigby yesterday by her friend, and former The Help costar, Viola Davis.

Jessica Chastain was joined on the NYC set of The Disappearance of Eleanor Rigby yesterday by her friend, and former The Help costar, Viola Davis. The ladies got to know each other two years ago while filming their Oscar-nominated flick and now they're teaming up on the big screen once again for an independent project. Viola and Jessica are actually filming two movies simultaneously, with one being told from a wife's perspective, played by Chastain, and the other from the perspective of her on-camera husband, played by James McAvoy.

Jessica showed off her newly cropped hairdo, but as it turns out it's her fashion risks that's landed her on the cover of Vanity Fair's September style issue. Kate Middleton also shares the cover with Jessica and joins major names like Diane Kruger, Tom Brady, Jay-Z, Alicia Keys, and Prince Harry on this year's list of best-dressed international stars.

Chloe, Christina, and Viola Get Celebrated as Women in Film

Last night's annual Crystal + Lucy Women in Film Awards brought out many of Hollywood's most famous leading ladies.

Last night's annual Crystal + Lucy Women in Film Awards brought out many of Hollywood's most famous leading ladies. Meryl Streep was on hand to award her good friend, The Help star Viola Davis, with the Excellence in Film statue. The 2012 award season saw no rivalry between Viola and The Iron Lady's Meryl — though Meryl won the Oscar, Viola took home a SAG Award. There's only love between the former Doubt costars, and Meryl praised Viola last night by calling her "a lion-hearted woman." Other ladies picking up honors were Christina Applegate and Chloe Moretz, who donned Max Mara for a Crystal + Lucy kickoff party on Sunday evening. Max Mara, a sponsor of the awards, outfitted many of the women on the carpet, including Viola, Meryl, Christina, and How I Met Your Mother's Cobie Smulders. Jenna Dewan-Tatum added more color to the proceedings in a teal jumpsuit.
