Very Good Girls

Jake Gyllenhaal stepped out to support mom Naomi Foner, the screenwriter behind Very Good Girls, at the film's Sundance Film Festival premiere last night. He was joined by brother-in-law Peter Sarsgaard, who's married to Maggie Gyllenhaal and also stars in the picture. It was an extra busy night for Peter, since he also debuted Lovelace with Amanda Seyfried. Very Good Girls leading lady Dakota Fanning attended the screening at the Eccles Center theater and later on linked up with her and Peter's costar Elizabeth Olsen at an afterparty. Jake made the rounds with his pal Jenny Lewis. He looked good while doing so — Jake has a new look, with slicked-back hair, for a new project. He's been in Georgia making Prisoners with Hugh Jackman.

Maggie Gyllenhaal brought her daughters, Ramona and Gloria, to visit her husband, Peter Sarsgaard, yesterday on the NYC set of Very Good Girls. Three-month-old Gloria was nestled against Maggie to check out the action. Maggie and Peter welcomed the little one back in the Spring on April 19.

The film was actually written by Maggie's mom Naomi Foner, who was seen watching a take with almost 6-year-old Ramona on her lap. Peter joined in on shooting with the movie's stars, Dakota Fanning and Elizabeth Olsen, who have been hard at work for much of the Summer. Making the film has become a real family effort — even Maggie's brother Jake Gyllenhall has been on the set.

Jake Gyllenhaal swung by the NYC set of Very Good Girls in NYC yesterday to say hi to his mom, the movie's screenwriter Naomi Foner. He was also able to catch a few minutes with the film's stars, Dakota Fanning and Elizabeth Olsen. It's been a long week on set for the girls. Dakota and Elizabeth wore bikinis for a recent shoot by the beach in Brooklyn, and yesterday, they looked a little roughed up to shoot scenes out on the streets of Manhattan.

Dakota Fanning was back at work on the set of Very Good Girls in Brooklyn yesterday. She sported an oversized denim button-down and biker boots while filming and was joined by costar Elizabeth Olsen. The pair have been shooting scenes in the Big Apple recently. Last week, Dakota and Elizabeth rode bikes while filming and caught up between takes. The film, which was written by Jake Gyllenhaal's mom, Naomi Foner, paints the girls as best friends who fall for the same guy. It also stars Richard Dreyfuss and Demi Moore, who was on set yesterday as well.

Elizabeth Olsen and Dakota Fanning worked together on the Brooklyn set of Very Good Girls on Thursday and Friday. The ladies rode bikes and shared laughs between scenes and costume changes. Dakota and Lizzy play friends who fall for the same guy in a story created by screenwriter Naomi Foner, who happens to be Jake and Maggie Gyllenhaal's mother. Elizabeth kicked back yesterday with a trip to her local Whole Foods. The youngest Olsen sister stocked up on groceries and hailed a cab back to her apartment afterward. This is shaping up to be another busy week for Elizabeth, since her Red Lights, with costars Robert De Niro and Sigourney Weaver, opens on Friday.

Dakota Fanning and Elizabeth Olsen were at work in Brooklyn yesterday shooting their new movie Very Good Girls. It's the second project Elizabeth's filmed in and around NYC since soaking up the award-season accolades earlier this year. She spent much of March on the set of Kill Your Darlings in the Big Apple with her costars Daniel Radcliffe and Jack Huston.

Very Good Girls was penned by Jake Gyllenhaal's mother, screenwriter Naomi Foner, and tells the story of two recent high-school grads who hit a snag in their plan to lose their virginity after falling for the same guy. This is their first project as costars, but Dakota and Elizabeth share a high-school connection of their own, having attended the same private academy outside LA. Last Summer, when the duo were first rumored to be signing on for the movie, Elizabeth told us that she actually first met Dakota years ago, giving her a tour of the campus as Dakota checked out potential schools!
