Kristen Stewart helps bring an end to the Twilight franchise in Breaking Dawn Part 2, out today. No longer an awkward high school student, Kristen's character Bella Swan is now a confident — and lethal — newborn vampire. The end of Twilight might make you think the sun is setting on the undead trend. But last month, just in time for Halloween, Vamps was released, reuniting Clueless director Amy Heckerling with two of the film's actors, Alicia Silverstone and Wallace Shawn. The movie stars Alicia and Don't Trust the B---- in Apartment 23's Krysten Ritter as New York socialites who happen to be undead vampires. Did we mention the love interest is played by Downton Abbey's Matthew Crawley, Dan Stevens?! Female vampires are still having a moment, with Bella emerging as a vampire and Elena sinking her teeth into her new vampire form in The Vampire Diaries. Alicia Silverstone and Krysten Ritter Are Kind Vampires on the Prowl
Alicia Silverstone and costar Krysten Ritter were together in NYC yesterday working on their new film Vamps. Amy Heckerling, who worked with Alicia on Clueless, is directing the comedic spin on the vampire craze — are you still interested in seeing films on the topic? The role of a blood-seeking creature is an interesting choice for Alicia, who's known for her vegan diet and lifestyle. Krysten had some time off the set on Monday to attend the premiere of Wall Street: Money Never Sleeps, and she told us exclusively about the movie she wrote, BFF & Baby, and how it's been compared to a female Apatow flick in humor.

Vampire Rom-Com: Inspired or Tired?
Yet another vampire story is rumored to be coming to the big screen, but this time it's the ladies who are doing the biting. Krysten Ritter (who is normally relegated to the BFF role) is supposedly starring in a romantic comedy called Vamps.
Amy Heckerling, the director responsible for Clueless, is attached to write and direct the story of "two young female vampires living the good life in New York until love enters the picture." I've always enjoyed Heckerling's work and am intrigued to see Ritter finally cast as a lead, but I'm wary of the premise; it sounds like it's just capitalizing on the recent craze. Plus, almost half of you said you were tired of vampire entertainment over the Summer.
At least this does have a unique angle by making the main vampires female for once, not to mention the much lighter tone it'll have. What do you think of this project — is it inspired, or just tired?
