The Vampire Diaries "The Rager": The Good, the Bad, and the Bloody

This week's episode of The Vampire Diaries takes us to a place we haven't been in a long time — the high school!

This week's episode of The Vampire Diaries takes us to a place we haven't been in a long time — the high school! Elena has her first day of school as a vampire, but both the new vampire slayer and Rebekah make it almost impossible for her to enjoy it. With class back in session, there are parties, burgeoning romances, and a new teacher . . . who wants the students dead.

We learn something important (well, mysteriously important) about Connor, and it feels as if we're gearing up for something big, but this week is more about going back to school and Elena trying to adjust to vampire life yet again. But there is plenty of stuff to talk about in the good, the bad, and the bloody, so let's get to it.

The Vampire Diaries "Memorial": The Good, The Bad, and The Bloody

The key word of this week's episode of The Vampire Diaries is "heightened."

The key word of this week's episode of The Vampire Diaries is "heightened." Everything Elena is experiencing as a baby vampire is heightened, as Stefan helpfully reminds us about every five seconds. One thing that is most certainly heightened is the number of times she barfs blood. The poor girl is having some "transitional issues," and Damon and Stefan both try their hardest to help, but it seems that only Damon is successful (in a very, uh, intimate way).

There's also a new baddie in town who's determined to take down all the wily vampires in Mystic Falls, so to get into that, plus Elena's digestive problems (and some hot makeouts), just keep reading.

The Vampire Diaries Season Premiere "Growing Pains": The Good, the Bad, and the Bloody

The Vampire Diaries is back, you guys!

The Vampire Diaries is back, you guys! And with it comes a brand-new version of Elena, as she wakes up out of her vampiric coma and plunges into her new life . . . as a dead person. That's right, vampire Elena is here for season four, but she doesn't have the smoothest of transitions, physically or mentally. As she and her friends fight for her to stay human, we also find out what Klaus/Tyler is up to, and we meet a brand-new villain who's religious about his hatred for supernatural creatures.

It's clear that this season is going to be sharply different than all previous seasons (as evidenced by the brand spankin' new intro) and I couldn't be more excited. But let's rewind to the premiere; now that the show is back, that means that our recap of the good, the bad, and the bloody is back, too! Come break it down with me after the jump.

The Vampire Diaries Season Finale "The Departed": The Good, The Bad, and The Bloody

Season three of The Vampire Diaries has come to an end, folks, and forgive me if I am still sitting here with my jaw wide open.

Season three of The Vampire Diaries has come to an end, folks, and forgive me if I am still sitting here with my jaw wide open. The finale is eventful, to say the least, and like seasons past, we saw the deaths of a couple of characters — along with the red herring deaths of a couple of characters. Oh, and by that I mean that something super crazy happens in the final moments of the episode that we'll be talking about all Summer.

I can't really talk about too much before the break without spoiling everything, so let's get to it. Dry your tears over that fact that there won't be any new episodes of The Vampire Diaries for a few months, and let's get to the final good, bad, and bloody of season three after the jump.

The Vampire Diaries "Before Sunset": The Good, The Bad, and The Bloody

I didn't really expect things to get that crazy on The Vampire Diaries until next week's season finale, but wow, this week is full of intensity.

I didn't really expect things to get that crazy on The Vampire Diaries until next week's season finale, but wow, this week is full of intensity. There are a few big fights, a little bit of vampire torture, and though Alaric is the villain of the episode, the group is victorious in taking down another of their foes amid the chaos. Bonnie gets to use her witchy skills, but she's not the only lady who's channeling her girl power this week; Elena gets pretty tough, not just relying on a Salvatore brother to save her this time.

We're gearing up for next week's finale, and though there's some obvious setup for the next episode, there's a pretty big event that happens this week. And as usual, there's also an ample amount of great moments and funny lines. So, to get to the good, the bad, and the bloody, just keep reading.

The Vampire Diaries "Do Not Go Gentle": The Good, The Bad, and The Bloody

It's time for the Decades Dance on this week's episode of The Vampire Diaries, and while there's a different theme ('20s) from years past, there's just as much danger at this year's dance.

It's time for the Decades Dance on this week's episode of The Vampire Diaries, and while there's a different theme ('20s) from years past, there's just as much danger at this year's dance. Esther is on the rampage and trying to make Alaric into a vampire super-killer, but there's more intrigue on the romantic side of things when Elena decides to take Stefan as her date.

There's a bit of romance for lots of characters, but everyone is too focused on Alaric's fate to figure out their relationship status. There's lots to discuss, including the twist at the end, so let's get to the good, the bad, and the bloody after the jump.

The Vampire Diaries "Heart of Darkness": The Good, The Bad, and The Bloody

On this week's episode of The Vampire Diaries, we take a road trip to Denver with Elena and Damon, which leads to possibly the best moment we've ever seen between these two.

On this week's episode of The Vampire Diaries, we take a road trip to Denver with Elena and Damon, which leads to possibly the best moment we've ever seen between these two. There's also a reconciliation for another couple, while a dearly departed character shows up with something very important to say to us all.

While everyone is trying to figure out the vampire bloodlines to determine if they can kill Klaus, Klaus has his own goal: to find the last stake that can kill Originals, which leads to a bloody standoff between Stefan and Alaric, and a surprising cliff-hanger. I don't want to spoil anything though, so let's get to the good, the bad, and the bloody after the jump.

The Vampire Diaries "The Murder of One": The Good, The Bad, and The Bloody

Excuse me while I try to contain my excitement, but Klaus is back, you guys!

Excuse me while I try to contain my excitement, but Klaus is back, you guys! After his glaring absence caused me to enjoy The Vampire Diaries far less than usual, my favorite villain is back this week. He's trying to unlink the spell that means death to him and all his siblings, and Stefan, Elena, Damon, and everyone else are trying to kill him (yes, still) before he succeeds.

As usual, Team Kill the Originals are thwarted by the old vampires, and Damon spends much of the episode being tortured with his pecs getting some much-needed air. And amid all the action, Stefan and Elena have a very important conversation about where her heart lies. Ready to get down to the good, the bad, and the bloody? Let's do it.

The Vampire Diaries "Break on Through": The Good, the Bad, and the Bloody

Like last week, this week's episode of The Vampire Diaries is pretty underwhelming again, and again, I blame the lack of Klaus.

Like last week, this week's episode of The Vampire Diaries is pretty underwhelming again, and again, I blame the lack of Klaus. Where is he hiding? The episode instead focuses on Alaric and his uncontrollable urge to kill innocent people, and Damon's old pal Sage, who's on the hunt for her old flame, original vampire Finn.

There's not so much excitement this week, except for one extended, and very memorable Damon shower scene (which obviously makes the good category of the week), so let's get down to talking about the good, the blood, and the bloody after the jump.

The Vampire Diaries "1912": The Good, the Bad, and the Bloody

The Vampire Diaries is back from its hiatus, and while we get a little fun flashback time with turn-of-the-century Damon and Stefan, this episode is a little boring for my taste (I think it's because Klaus is absent).

The Vampire Diaries is back from its hiatus, and while we get a little fun flashback time with turn-of-the-century Damon and Stefan, this episode is a little boring for my taste (I think it's because Klaus is absent). That is, until we get to the end of the episode and get a shock that I didn't see coming at all.

We also get a sweet confession from Elena, but all the excitement is really about figuring out who the Mystic Falls serial killer is, so let's go over the good, the bad, and the bloody after the jump.
