How Well Do You Get Along With Your Mama?

A recent study concluded that a mom's relationship with her mother-in-law is the most stressful part of parenthood — but your own mother can cause stress in your life as well.

A recent study concluded that a mom's relationship with her mother-in-law is the most stressful part of parenthood — but your own mother can cause stress in your life as well.

The relationship between mother and daughter can be quite complicated. Some women have great relationships with their own mothers, while others try to avoid having a relationship altogether. One disagreement with mom can send even the most seemingly put-together parent back to those teenage years, when she cried in her room blaring loud music and dreaming of the day when she would be the mom — she would do things differently.

On last night's episode of Up All Night, Christina Applegate's Regan did just that. She tried to avoid a visit with her parents due to her stressed relationship with her mom, played by Blythe Danner. In hopes of having a great relationship with her own daughter in the future, Regan decided to lead by example and tried to connect with her self-absorbed mom. In the end, it all worked out — but not before Regan had a good cry in her room.

So tell us, how well do you get along with your mama?

Tell Us Why You're Watching Up All Night

New Fall comedy Up All Night has entered into the roster of NBC's great sitcoms, and it's not even in the Thursday night block.

New Fall comedy Up All Night has entered into the roster of NBC's great sitcoms, and it's not even in the Thursday night block. The series has made Wednesdays another destination for solid NBC shows, as Christina Applegate and Will Arnett navigate the waters of being new parents while trying to maintain their hipness. I've gotten totally hooked on the sitcom, thanks to the threesome that anchor the show: Arnett is a charming sweetheart as stay-at-home dad Chris, Applegate plays off of him perfectly as Reagan, and their third wheel Ava (Maya Rudolph), Reagan's boss, is outrageous and hilarious, without being too over the top. Up All Night has moved right in to my weekly DVR schedule, so I want to know if you guys have been watching and digging it too. Chime in below if you are, and let me know why you're liking it!

Was Your Baby Late to Crawl or Right on Time?

Crawl on, baby! All mamas are incredibly proud of every milestone baby reaches, especially if it's before the "average" age determined by experts.

Crawl on, baby! All mamas are incredibly proud of every milestone baby reaches, especially if it's before the "average" age determined by experts. Most babies learn to crawl between 6 to 10 months of age after they're able to sit on their own, while some babies take their time — and it can get a little frustrating for mama when all the other kiddies in the playgroup are moving about and her tot is glued to the play mat! So tell us, was your baby late to crawl or right on time?

What Was Your Biggest Fear While Giving Birth?

New moms love to talk about poop.

New moms love to talk about poop. The color, the consistency, the frequency, etc., but in the delivery room, it is a tightly held secret. For many expectant mamas, the prospect of pooping on the delivery table is the scariest part of delivery — even more than labor pains. On last night's episode of Up All Night, Reagan's biggest fear of dropping a deuce was escalated when the doctor filling in for her OB/GYN happened to be a young, good-looking man. Take a look at the clip below and tell me, what concerned you most while delivering?

Up All Night and Whitney Picked Up For Full Seasons

Good news for fans of NBC's new comedies: the network has just ordered full seasons of Whitney and Up All Night.

Good news for fans of NBC's new comedies: the network has just ordered full seasons of Whitney and Up All Night. I'm not surprised that Will Arnett and Christina Applegate's new sitcom got picked up, since it's been getting decent ratings and good buzz, though I wasn't expecting Whitney Cummings's show to get the green light so quickly. Have you been watching Up All Night and/or Whitney?

Watch Maya Rudolph's Up All Night Character in Her '90s Music Video For "Basically"

In the grand tradition of How I Met Your Mother's Robin Sparkles, NBC's new comedy Up All Night has its own character with a pop star past.

In the grand tradition of How I Met Your Mother's Robin Sparkles, NBC's new comedy Up All Night has its own character with a pop star past. Maya Rudolph's Ava is now a successful talk show host, but back in the day (the mid-'90s, that is), she starred in an R&B slow jam video with her old boyfriend, "B-Ro." The ex is someone you'll recognize if you're a Saturday Night Live fan: it's The Lonely Island's Jorma Tacconne, and their song "Basically" could totally be an SNL digital short. Watch Ava and B-Ro in their hilarious video, complete with era-appropriate getups.

Are You Hooked on Up All Night?

Will Arnett and Christina Applegate returned to television this week with the premiere of their new NBC comedy, Up All Night.

Will Arnett and Christina Applegate returned to television this week with the premiere of their new NBC comedy, Up All Night. Arnett and Applegate star as a pair of first-time parents who are figuring out how to raise their baby girl, all while Applegate's character manages a hectic full-time job working for her demanding boss (Maya Rudolph). The back-and-forth joking between Arnett and Applegate is pretty funny, and Rudolph's over-the-top character also had me chuckling throughout the show, but now I want to know what you thought about Up All Night's premiere episode. Will you watch the show again next week?

Pilot Scoop: Up All Night

Tonight is the debut of Up All Night, NBC's new comedy starring Christina Applegate and Will Arnett as a couple adjusting to their life as parents.

Tonight is the debut of Up All Night, NBC's new comedy starring Christina Applegate and Will Arnett as a couple adjusting to their life as parents. If you're on the fence about tuning in this evening, check out my pilot scoop on the first episode to see whether it sounds like something you'd enjoy.

What it's about: Applegate and Arnett play married couple Reagan and Chris, who have just become first-time parents. The show follows the pair as they try to get used to their new roles and routine: Chris has become a stay-at-home dad so that Reagan can go back to work full time. Maya Rudolph has a supporting part as Reagan's demanding but well-meaning boss Ava.

Where it works: I love Arnett as Chris, because it's one of the rare times we see the actor toning himself down to play an all-around nice guy. Not that I don't love his usual shtick, but it's great to see him expanding his range. Also, he, Applegate, and Rudolph are a killer comedy team in a pilot that has tons of laugh-out-loud moments and great writing.

Where it doesn't: If you're dealing with the similar work/life stress that Reagan and Chris are, this show might not be the escapist fare you're looking for.

You might like this show if: You like the fun, irreverent humor of Cougar Town and Happy Endings.

When is it on: Wednesdays at 8 p.m. on NBC.

Christina Applegate Reveals Her Postbaby Body Secret

Suck it in! New mama Christina Applegate appeared on The Tonight Show last night to talk about her highly anticipated new show Up All Night.

Suck it in! New mama Christina Applegate appeared on The Tonight Show last night to talk about her highly anticipated new show Up All Night. On the way to tape the show, the actress sent out a hilariously revealing tweet that read, "On my way to the Tonight Show. Spend a little time with Jay. My spanx are so tight I feel I may faint. Good times . . ."

When Leno complimented the actress on her postbaby body, the never-shy Christina jokingly responded "Don't let all the girdles fool you! I have this thing on called a Mother Tucker. It's for mothers, and it's a tucker!" Mother Tuckers are compression tanks that smooth and shape the midsection and, like Spanx, are a must have among new Hollywood mamas. See how the new mama describes the shaping garment, how she's handling new motherhood, and what a "bed day" is in the clip above!
