Penélope Cruz made an appearance on the Italian TV show Che Tempo Che Fa in Milan on Sunday. She's been traveling overseas promoting her movie Twice Born, and yesterday stopped in Rome for a photocall and premiere. Penélope wore a blue vintage Versace gown on the red carpet and posed with director Sergio Castellitto and the author of the book the film is based on, Margaret Mazzantini. Penélope's husband has been in the spotlight as well, doing press for his own movie, Skyfall, in Spain, France, and England. Next, he'll head to LA, where he's being honored with a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame just one day ahead of the Bond film's Friday US release.
Penélope Cruz Goes Black and Blue For Press in Rome
Penélope Cruz rocked a leather Versace trench coat for a photocall promoting Twice Born at the St. Regis in Rome today, and she was back out later in a blue gown for the film's premiere. The movie opens in Italy on Thursday, though she kicked off press in September at the Toronto International Film Festival. Since then, Penélope has filmed The Counselor alongside Javier Bardem and Cameron Diaz, and also traveled in support of her husband's latest project. Penélope, Javier, and their son, Leo, popped up in France last month ahead of his Skyfall premiere in Paris. He's since visited Spain for the Bond film, which is already breaking records overseas and will debut in the US on Friday.
Penelope Cruz Wows in Vintage Versace at Her Spanish Premiere
Penelope Cruz was a vision in red arriving at yesterday's San Sebastian Film Festival premiere of Twice Born. She posed solo on the red carpet in a vintage full-length Versace gown while husband Javier Bardem was 500 miles away shooting a new project with Cameron Diaz. Cameron and Javier were spotted in outrageous wardrobes on the set of The Counselor, which also stars Brad Pitt and Michael Fassbender. They've been filming on location in London for the past few weeks, but production has now moved to Javier and Penelope's home country of Spain.
Penelope Cruz Steps Out in Spain For Her Latest Film
Penelope Cruz was at the San Sebastian Film Festival in Spain today to promote her new film, Twice Born. She sported a formfitting lace-print dress and linked arms with her director, Sergio Castellitto, as they arrived for a photocall. She also stopped to greet fans and sign autographs outside the Maria Cristina Hotel. Penelope shot the film, which also stars Emile Hirsch, last Fall in Rome. She had her husband, Javier Bardem, and their son, Leo, along for much of the filming. Penelope's promotional trip to her native Spain comes shortly after a visit to the Toronto International Film Festival in support of the project. Emile and Sergio both joined her at the premiere of Twice Born, where she worked the red carpet in a pink Atelier Versace gown.

Twice Born Trailer: Emile Hirsch and Penelope Cruz Are War-Torn Lovers
Director Sergio Castellitto proves you don't need dialogue to create a powerful snapshot of a film in the trailer for Twice Born, an Italian movie premiering at the Toronto International Film Festival. The movie stars Penelope Cruz as a single mother traveling back to Sarajevo with her adolescent son. It's the setting where the boy's father (Emile Hirsch), an American photographer, was killed during the Bosnian conflict in the 1990s. The mostly wordless trailer shows the film will be set both in the time when Cruz and Hirsch's characters are together and years later when their son is grown.
I'm constantly surprised to see where Emile Hirsch pops up on the silver screen, and given the dual time lines, I'll be interested to see whether the film will follow a chronological format or bounce back and forth through the decades. Either way, this is sure to be an emotional ride. Check out the trailer for Twice Born after the jump.
