Aubrey Plaza on Her "Awkward" Sex Comedy and Earning an Award That's "Actually Mine"

Aubrey Plaza's dry humor has made her one of the standouts in the cast of Parks and Recreation, but she continues to expand her horizons on the big screen, including her heartfelt turn in last year's Safety Not Guaranteed.

Aubrey Plaza's dry humor has made her one of the standouts in the cast of Parks and Recreation, but she continues to expand her horizons on the big screen, including her heartfelt turn in last year's Safety Not Guaranteed. Aubrey's accomplishments didn't go unnoticed last night when she picked up CinemaCon's breakthrough performer of the year honor in Las Vegas. Aubrey joked with us about being excited to "hold an award and know that it's actually mine" backstage, where we got more info on her coming-of-age comedy The To Do List. Aubrey plays a teenager in the 1990s who's looking to brush up on her sexual skills and told us her costume for one sex scene consisted of just a pair of undies and a Hillary Clinton t-shirt.

The To Do List Teaser: Aubrey Plaza Has a Lot of Jobs to Do

In the trailer for The To Do List, Aubrey Plaza plays a high schooler in the '90s who gives herself quite a checklist of tasks.

In the trailer for The To Do List, Aubrey Plaza plays a high schooler in the '90s who gives herself quite a checklist of tasks. Let me be clear — everything on her list is pretty dirty, because her character, Brandy, is trying to get as much sexual experience as she can before heading off to college. Previously titled Hand Job, the movie's cast is made up of an impressive ensemble of TV stars, including Connie Britton, Andy Samberg, Rachel Bilson, and Bill Hader (whose wife, Maggie Carey, wrote and directed the movie). Scott Porter also pops up to play Brandy's crush, while Donald Glover is the friend who's more than willing to experiment with her.

This red-band trailer is definitely not safe for work, but it is very funny — I particularity liked Bilson as Brandy's sister and the '90s references — even if Plaza herself interrupts the teaser a few times to tell you about the movie. As the lady says, The To Do List comes out on Valentine's Day 2013, but you can get your first look after the jump.

Rachel Bilson Reports to Work in Sweats Then Makes a Quick Change Into Sexy Silk

Rachel Bilson was back to work on the set of her latest project, The To Do List, in Calabasas, CA, Thursday.

Rachel Bilson was back to work on the set of her latest project, The To Do List, in Calabasas, CA, Thursday. She arrived on location in casual athletic gear, then emerged from her trailer wearing what appeared to be a purple negligee. Rachel's had to cover up a number of skimpy pieces, like two crop tops, over the last few days. The movie also costars famous funny guys Bill Hader, Andy Samberg, Christopher Mintz-Plasse and Donald Glover, but we haven't seen any signs of the guys just yet. Christopher has his hands full with multiple projects and it's likely he'll pop up in San Diego next week for the Comic-Con panel of his new horror flick Fright Night.

Rachel Bilson covered her short shorts with a cozy robe on the set of The To Do List yesterday in LA. Rachel wore rollers and hoop earrings between scenes as she got into the character of a recent high-school graduate who decides to spend the Summer before college racking up more sexual experience. She stars with Andy Samberg and Community's Donald Glover in the movie, which is the second she's filmed this year following L!fe Happens, formerly called BFF & Baby, with Kate Bosworth. Rachel will also make a return to the small screen this Fall with her CW series Hart of Dixie. Rachel appears as a city-dwelling doctor transplanted to the country in the show, created by The O.C.'s Josh Schwartz. Rachel and on-again boyfriend Hayden Christensen have been enjoying the Summer together before her promotional duties for her TV show heat up ahead of its September debut.

Rachel Bilson arrived on the LA set of The To Do List yesterday carrying her trusty Chanel quilted bag and a Navajo printed jacket.

Rachel Bilson arrived on the LA set of The To Do List yesterday carrying her trusty Chanel quilted bag and a Navajo printed jacket. Earlier in the week Rachel opted for a much less layered look and gave the crew a glimpse of her abs in a retro two-piece ensemble. She's been hanging out on the West Coast thus far this Summer enjoying quiet afternoons with friends and kicking back with her little sisters. The pilot for her new series Hart of Dixie was shot on location in the South, and will be sharing the CW Monday night lineup with Gossip Girl. Rachel and the rest of the network stars will get together in LA in early August to promote their shows at the biannual TCA, and we're excited to see more of the former The OC star slipping into her new role as a doctor.

This new project, formerly called Hand Job, follows a high school student who feels the pressure to gain more sexual experience before she goes to college. There are many comedians attached to the project, with Andy Samberg, Bill Hader, and Donald Glover rounding out The To Do List's cast. Rachel's workload is piling up this year, since her primetime show debuts this Fall on the CW. In Hart of Dixie, Rachel plays a doctor who heads to the South and finds herself to be a fish out of water in the rural setting — check out the Hart of Dixie pilot. The Summer has been busy, but it hasn't been all work for Rachel. She's been spotted hanging out with her little sisters and grabbing lunch with Hayden Christensen.

Bill Hader, Andy Samberg, and Tons of Funny People Line Up For Hand Job

What if NBC's Thursday night comedy block had a baby with Saturday Night Live?

What if NBC's Thursday night comedy block had a baby with Saturday Night Live? You'd get the movie Hand Job, a comedy written and directed by Bill Hader's wife, Maggie Carey, that's quickly assembling a cast that includes so many of my favorite funny people. Community's Donald Glover and Andy Samberg have just signed on to appear in the movie, along with Hader and Parks and Recreation's Aubrey Plaza, who has the lead role.

Plaza plays a Type A high school senior who worries that she hasn't had enough sexual experience before going away to college, so she sets out to get some (pardon the pun). Also lending support to an already amazing cast are Alia Shawkat, Connie Britton, and Plaza's Scott Pilgrim vs. the World costars Mae Whitman and Johnny Simmons. I'm already totally seduced by the idea of this movie, in part because it's usually guys who are trying to pawn off their virginities (e.g. Superbad). My only qualm: can Plaza, who usually shines as a supporting character, handle a leading role?
