Sneak Peek: The Real World Las Vegas's Hard Rock Penthouse

The Real World returns to Las Vegas tonight at 10 p.m.

The Real World returns to Las Vegas tonight at 10 p.m. EST for its 25th season premiere — can you believe it? The days when I followed the show have long been over, but I am continually impressed with the set decoration. This season the penthouse suite of the Hard Rock Casino in Sin City will be home to the seven new strangers. It's the perfect place to go wild with prints, bright colors, bold artwork, and graphic interior architecture, and the designer got it all right. If not in Vegas, where else would you indulge in over-the-top design? Come along and check out this sneak peek of the suite!

Which MTV Series Do You Prefer: Real World or The Challenge?

MTV spawns another edition to its Challenge series this evening with The Challenge: Cutthroat.

MTV spawns another edition to its Challenge series this evening with The Challenge: Cutthroat. All together now: Oooooo. The show brings back 30 familiar faces (Derrick, Brad, and Paula, to name a few), as they form teams and compete for $500,000 . . . in Prague!

I remember when the network first started the Real World/Road Rules: Challenge franchise. In the beginning, I thought it was just another desperate attempt to squeeze more air time out of The Real World (OK, it still kind of is). Even so, I became hooked. The weekly contests are actually demanding — not that Bachelor Pad kissing contest type of fluff — and I dig that the cast is full of repeat performers, so I get to see old favorites return season after season. As my appreciation for The Real World has waxed and waned over the years, The Challenge continues to nab my attention. I may even like it more! Which do you prefer?

Real World Has Shocked New Orleans

The popular TV show Real World has moved to its new location, the exciting city of New Orleans. Now, the trick to this show is the cast members. There's the ex-rehab member Knight, the pretty Florida girl, McKenzie, the fun gay guy, Preston, the cool-headed mediator, Eric, the singer, Sahar, the active volunteer, Ashlee, and the flirt, Jemmye.

But, of course, no show would be complete without a little bit of drama. In this case, it is Ryan. He's the drug stealing, lying, lazy, overreacting, bizarre roommate. He also comes with some interesting habits, which include: blowdrying himself, playing with people's ears, and chasing his roommates while he's naked. And can I just say, what is up with his hair? It's not attractive. My all time favorite Ryan moment was when he called the cops on Preston for peeing on his toothbrush. First of all, you don't call the police, who are out there fighting real criminals, for a problem you have with your roommates. Be a man and take care of it yourself. I also loved how he tried to be all tough guy when Preston came home, saying that he was going to beat him up and such, but he didn't do a thing. Oh, Ryan. He most definitely keeps things interesting. If you haven't watched Real World, you MUST start. It's the best show out there if you're looking for a little bit of entertainment and some laughs. If you missed some episodes or want to get caught up, MTV has some episodes available on their website.

Found It! Skull Décor in the Real World NOLA House

If you caught my sneak peek of The Real World New Orleans house on Tuesday or the premiere last night, you might have noticed that the house is heavy on city-centric décor.

If you caught my sneak peek of The Real World New Orleans house on Tuesday or the premiere last night, you might have noticed that the house is heavy on city-centric décor. From Mardi Gras accessories and a purple, green, and gold palette to jazz influences and symbolic elements like fleur-de-lys, there's not a chance you could mistake these swanky digs for any other city. One bedroom in the house seemed to be inspired by New Orleans's spookier, voodoo edge with a skeleton posed against an above-ground cemetery mural and skull wallpaper and carpeting. While I'm sure the mural was commissioned, the skull décor is actually pretty accessible. Wondering where you can pick up the deadly designs? Then continue reading.

Buzz In: Which Real World Season Is Your Favorite?

Tonight, another eight strangers have been picked to live in a house and start getting real on The Real World: New Orleans — watch the preview here.

Tonight, another eight strangers have been picked to live in a house and start getting real on The Real World: New Orleans — watch the preview here. MTV's longest-running series has gone on for 24 seasons, and the repetition of the Big Easy setting has me thinking about the last time the show was in NOLA, which in turn makes me reminisce about all my favorite seasons.

For me, nothing compares to the third season in San Francisco. You really can't touch the history of that installment, which included Pedro Zamora's struggle with AIDS and the outrageousness of The Real World's first villain, Puck. I also have a special place in my heart for the more lighthearted seasons in Seattle, Boston, and Hawaii, before I felt like the show's drinking and forced scandal got out of control. What's your favorite season?

Sneak Peek: The Real World New Orleans House

We already got a sneak peek of the action that will unfold when The Real World returns to New Orleans this season.

We already got a sneak peek of the action that will unfold when The Real World returns to New Orleans this season. But before The Real World XXIV premieres Wednesday night on MTV, I've got an inside look at what's always been my favorite part of the show: the fabulous digs.

Will the new housemates show New Orleans, one of my favorite cities, the respect it deserves? Probably not. But the house does the city proud. The interiors incorporate the best of what the Crescent City has to offer: shutters and wrought-iron elements in the bedrooms, salvaged bar signage in the kitchen, jazz motifs with this piano rug and saxophone chandelier, and even a streetcar! The Mardi Gras memorabilia is a bit heavy-handed, but otherwise, I'm coveting this crib. See all the photos when you read more

First Look: The Real World Goes Back to New Orleans

I've already shared some new Summer shows with you all, but you can also cozy up with an old favorite.

I've already shared some new Summer shows with you all, but you can also cozy up with an old favorite. On June 30 The Real World returns with its 24th season, heading to New Orleans for a second time. Like the city of choice, the trailer looks like the same old same old: partying (Mardi Gras style!), assaults, hot tubbin'. There's also the standard roommate with a drinking problem, roommate who falls under the attack of everyone else, and roommate who just doesn't fit in. Even if it's not going to change your life, it's something to fill your DVR while you're waiting for the return of Jersey Shore.
