The Office Recap

This week is the season finale of The Office, and Dwight puts on a family portrait studio for his co-workers, but it's really to prove that he's the father of Angela's baby. Andy comes in looking absolutely crazy, but we learn that our old friend David Wallace has decided to buy Dunder-Mifflin from Sabre and give Andy his old job back. Darryl makes his affection for Val very clear to everyone — including her current boyfriend Brandon.

After Andy gets drunk at the office and begs for any work, Catherine lets him clean the carpet, but Andy really just wants to be there when David announces the changes. Before he shows up, Andy spills the beans and tells everyone he's gotten his old job back. On a more adventurous but completely unrelated note, Dwight and Angela make out, and Val makes a grand gesture to show that she's into Darryl. The season finale has a few great quotes, so keep reading for my favorite lines.

In this week's episode of The Office, Robert California is hung over and trying to put together the events of the evening — namely, that he closed the Syracuse branch of Dunder-Mifflin while blacked out. And of course, Andy is still being awkward and hanging out around the office, hoping that it's all just been a bad dream. I was happy to see Chris Bauer (Andy Bellefleur!) from True Blood make an appearance as the Syracuse branch manager who is upset that Scranton is stealing his clients.

We learn that Nellie has been having a hard time and actually has a heart; when Pam warms up to her, she's elated. Andy scores a big deal under the alias Big Red Paper Company to get his job back, but when Robert doesn't bite, he heads over to our old friend David Wallace, who seems interested. While I was happy to see Andy get his groove back, to be honest, the high point of the episode is the cold open, where Jim sets up a thigh curl contest between Gabe and Dwight. After a great cold open where Ryan tries to show off how seriously he's mourning the loss of Smokey Robinson, in this week's episode of The Office, we spend a little time at work before everyone heads to a big fundraiser thrown by Angela's senator husband. Darryl and Nellie can't seem to connect, and we learn that everything is not that positive for Andy as he adjusts to life without the office.

Things are a little darker on the show tonight; I couldn't help but feel for Nellie, and Andy is just feeling lost. Darryl's not even pretending to like Nellie, but once they're seated together at the fundraiser, he warms up to his new boss and teaches her how to eat her very first taco. In a sweet moment, he tells everyone that he understands how "she's trying." Andy adopts a dozen dogs in an attempt to one-up Robert California's grand gesture of buying two tables at the fundraiser, but finally admits he's in trouble. Dwight doesn't understand how a silent auction works and gives an enormous donation — topped off with an epic speech, while Oscar and Pam get in some quality gossiping time about the senator's sexual preferences. This week's episode has its moments, so for my favorite lines of the night, just keep reading.

After his long romantic debacle, Andy is back at The Office this week with Erin on his arm. Just when he thought everything was finally working out, he's got to battle it out with Nellie for the manager's position. Everyone tries to put in their two cents about how he can be more manly, and just as the name of the episode implies, Andy does in fact get angry. Very angry.

After being provoked by Erin's anger, Andy gets really out of line, but by the end of the episode, I was really surprised when he decides to leave. I'm just hoping this won't stick because it means a lot more Nellie. On a happier note, I was thrilled to see Kelly get some quality action this week! I didn't even realize how much I had been missing her. Watching her choose between her new man Ravi and Ryan made for a storyline I could get a little more into. Overall, after last week's episode, I thought "Angry Andy" was a little bit of a letdown, but luckily, there were a few cute lines to save the day. Just keep reading for my favorites of the night.

Andy and Erin have reunited on the road, but they have to make a quick pit stop before their relationship can be official. The only thing holding them back? Andy needs to break up with Jessica at her parents' cabin where a big bachelorette party is being thrown. Back in Scranton, it looks like Nellie is here to stay, so Robert suggests the office welcome her by throwing a big party.

Jim tells Pam how to make the party as miserable as possible, but after Jim has a change of heart, Pam tries to pick up the pieces, and the party ends up not so bad. Andy and Erin make it to Jessica's cabin for the big breakup, but instead of being honest about his feelings, he initially tells her that he's gay, but realizes it's not the right thing to do and goes back to break up for the second time — but he makes a quick break for it.

There are some solid laugh-out-loud moments thanks to Oscar and Dwight, and I'm looking forward to seeing the direction that the rest of the season will take. With lots of great lines, it's hard to pick just one favorite. Check out some of my favorite quotes of the week after the jump.

In this week's episode of The Office, Andy travels down to Tallahassee to go after Erin. With Andy out, Nellie pops up out of nowhere and decides she wants Andy's job. Initially, I was just as annoyed as everyone in Scranton that she shows up, but I've got to be real and say that Nellie does have her moments in the performance reviews, especially when she puts Pam down for a nap and explains why she's just like Tinkerbell.

I'm so proud of Erin for standing up for herself, and equally proud of her for chasing after Andy and realizing he's the one. This week's episode is sweet and light, with a few laugh-out-loud moments to boot. Check out my favorite lines from "Get the Girl" after the jump.

After my dream came to fruition — a cold open starring Creed — the rest of this week's episode of The Office does not disappoint. Robert California comes back into the picture, and while it was brief, I was happy to have him around. The Girl Scout cookie wars between Toby and Darryl are amazing, Kevin and Meredith kids, and I enjoyed Dwight and Jim battling it out in the hallway.

And on top of all that quality comedy, I have some happy plot developments to report. It ends up that Dwight will be returning to Scranton, Packer gets fired, and Andy is going down to Florida to try to win back Erin. Here are my favorite lines of the night:

• "I'm the gentleman. Suck it!" — Dwight, yelling to Robert across the golf course
• "Yes. My pretty hardest." — Jim, answering Pam's question if he tried his hardest
• "Baby if you're watching this you're not chubby, you're beautiful. Daddy's trying to sell some cookies." — Darryl, in case his daughter is worried about what he said
• "Oh yeah, I'm talking triple digits." — Kevin, on how many boxes of cookies he's good for
• "Thought you checked my Tumblr." — Ryan, on why Andy wasn't aware of Erin's big move
• "I refuse to be another man's horsie." — Toby, refusing to give Kevin a ride to the break room

In this week's episode of The Office, the Florida crew is putting the final touches on the Sabre store, and Dwight is in charge of the whole operation. This looks like his big chance to shine, so he puts on a big extravagant presentation to impress Nellie and become VP. Back in Scranton, Andy is embarrassed after getting a pretty humiliating injury, and Toby puts on a self-defense class to provide everyone with appropriate education.

Tonight's episode of The Office may have been my favorite of season eight. Jim and Dwight were awesome supporting each other; I loved the quality Creed and Kevin action; and Erin building "hype" as a hipster was absolutely hysterical. But now that Dwight has landed this big promotion, I am really curious about how things are going to unfold. A few key plot developments that didn't feel too rushed, plus a ton of funny lines, allowed "Test the Store" to pass with flying colors. In this week's The Office episode "After Hours," half the crew is at home in Scranton, but the project committee is still working down in Tallahassee. While the night is full of solid comedy, there's a lot that goes down. Darryl does his best to tell Val how he feels, Pam and Jim's relationship is tested, but the focus of the episode is really on Dwight's desperate attempt to get a big promotion.

No hard feelings toward last week's episode "Tallahassee," but I had pretty low expectations going into this week, and I was pleasantly surprised by all of the funny dialogue. Learn my favorite lines from "After Hours" after the jump.

A change of pace does The Office good this week. In "Tallahassee," we jump back and forth between the usual suspects in the Scranton office and the new special project crew in Florida. Some faces I've loved in the past come back into the picture this week: Michael's old crony Todd Packer (David Koechner) is on the team for the new Sabre stores, and former regional manager candidate Nellie Bertram (Catherine Tate) is now in charge of special projects.

Dwight lands in the hospital with appendicitis, but of course, surgery is no excuse for Mr. Schrute. He comes back to the orientation equipped with a personal IV in a backpack. I appreciated Dwight's determination and loved seeing him a little loopy, but for me, Stanley really takes the cake in the humor department this week. "Tallahassee" may not be the strongest episode of the season, but it definitely has its moments. Check out a few of my favorite lines after the jump.
