Ben and Sera Make a Coffee Run as Jennifer Gets to Work

Ben Affleck had Seraphina by his side earlier today on a coffee run in LA. The pair stopped off at the Brentwood Country Mart to pick up breakfast and then headed on their way. Ben, Jennifer Garner, and their three little ones made our list of our favorite celebrity families of 2012, and Ben is among the good-looking guys vying for the title of favorite male — don't forget to check out all our Best of 2012 coverage across the PopSugar network! Jennifer's off in Louisiana at the moment, and logged time today on the New Orleans set of The Dallas Buyers Club.

Ben's big year made major headlines, and he's wrapping things up this month with a bang, as his Argo's among the elite group of films garnering major award season buzz. We'll find out next week if he's earned Golden Globe nods for his acting and directing in the film. He's already taken home one accolade this year, receiving special recognition at the Casting Society of America's Artios Awards.

Jennifer Garner Returns Home Following a Dramatic Visit to Louisiana

Jennifer Garner stepped onto the New Orleans set of The Dallas Buyer's Club yesterday with her hair pinned up on top of her head.

Jennifer Garner stepped onto the New Orleans set of The Dallas Buyer's Club yesterday with her hair pinned up on top of her head. A few hours later, she emerged from the wardrobe trailer in a pink dress ready to hit her mark in front of the cameras. Jennifer stars opposite a very frail Matthew McConaughey in the drama. By this morning Jen was back to her weekday routine in LA, grabbing breakfast at the Brentwood Country Mart's Farmshop with Ben and Seraphina Affleck.

Matthew's character is battling with AIDS in the project, and Jennifer's been cast as his doctor. The subject matter of the film is gravely serious; however, away from the set Jen's been all smiles in the company of her son, Samuel Affleck. Matthew's also been hanging out with loved ones in between scenes; Camila and son Levi were spotted leaving the set yesterday after a midday visit.

Jennifer Garner Plays Mom on Set With Sera and Samuel

Jennifer Garner was on the set of The Dallas Buyer's Club in New Orleans today with her two youngest kids. She carried her young son, Samuel, around between takes and also held hands with her smiling daughter Seraphina. Jen began filming The Dallas Buyer's Club earlier this month with costars Matthew McConaughey and Jared Leto. Her husband, Ben Affleck, has been hanging out in LA during her absence. He's on the West Coast with their oldest, Violet, who's in school. Yesterday, Ben took advantage of some downtime to run errands around their Brentwood neighborhood, and on Sunday, took himself out to do a bit of shopping.

Matthew McConaughey Is the New Dallas Buyer

The Dallas Buyer's Club is one of those projects that has been floating around Hollywood for years, just waiting for the stars to align with the right director and actor.

The Dallas Buyer's Club is one of those projects that has been floating around Hollywood for years, just waiting for the stars to align with the right director and actor. When we last heard about it, Ryan Gosling was set to take it on with his Lars and the Real Girl director Craig Gillespie, but the plan fell through. Now, Matthew McConaughey has scooped up the film, in which he'll star as real-life AIDS patient Woodroof, an electrician in Dallas who started a drug ring to acquire the illegal medications he needed to fight for his life. McConaughey has locked in director Jean Marc Vallee (The Young Victoria) to help get the project off the ground. Only time will tell if the film finally finds its wings, but I'm on board with another serious turn for McConaughey — especially one that takes the Texas native back to his hometown.

Lars and the Real Girl Director Teams Up With Gosling Again

Director Craig Gillespie and Ryan Gosling will combine their talents once more, and no, not for a Lars and the Real Girl sequel.

Director Craig Gillespie and Ryan Gosling will combine their talents once more, and no, not for a Lars and the Real Girl sequel.

Titled The Dallas Buyers Club, the movie follows an inspiring true story. Variety has more:

Dallas Buyers Club is the true story of Ron Woodroof, a tough Texas electrician who was diagnosed with AIDS in 1986 and given six months to live. Frustrated with the lack of available medical options and unwilling to accept a death sentence, Woodroof found a lifeline using alternative drugs and created a lucrative smuggling business that made those drugs available to AIDS patients. Woodroof died in 1992.

If this film ends up with even an inkling of the aching poignancy of Lars and the Real Girl, I am all about it. I can't wait to see Gosling show us more of the dramatic chops we know he has. I anticipate my heart breaking from this film but with this team, I welcome it. You?
