The Other Guys

Mark Wahlberg and Will Ferrell star as an odd couple cop team who stumble upon a Ponzi scheme led by a shady Wall Street mogul (Steve Coogan). Eva Mendes also appears as Ferrell's knockout homemaker wife. Though the plot gets more muddled as the film goes on, the movie has several hilarious one-liners as Wahlberg and Ferrell play off each other well with zippy put-downs for laughs. Bonus features include two featurettes and deleted and extended scenes.

The A-Team

Army Special Forces members Hannibal (Liam Neeson), Face (Bradley Cooper), B.A. (Quentin "Rampage" Jackson), and Murdoch (Sharlto Copley) are back in this remake of the '80s TV series. This time, the boys get set up by a C.I.A. agent (Patrick Wilson) and must reclaim stolen equipment used for money forging. Jessica Biel costars as a former love interest and Defense Department Captain on the guys' trail. With an onslaught of stunts, explosives, and shootouts, the film is pure entertainment — even if it is ridiculous. Bonus features include an A-Team Theme Mash-Up Montage and audio commentary.

Jessica Biel and Bradley Cooper joined costars from The A-Team for their London premiere today. Jessica faced the flashbulbs in ombre-highlighted waves and a semisheer dress that perfectly matched the red carpet. Bradley stopped to take pictures with fans, lending his long arms to get a good shot. Bradley and Jessica have been back on the promotional road this week after a month-long break from A-Team duties. Bradley filled that time filming Dark Fields and taking Renee for a night out on the town in NYC, where Jessica and her rumored American Idol-bound man, Justin Timberlake, have been cozying up together at home, too.

To infinity and beyond! Woody, Buzz, and the cute characters of Toy Story 3 won a second weekend at the box office with $59 million. That was enough to beat out both of the new big releases; Adam Sandler's Grown Ups came in second with $41 million, while Tom Cruise and Cameron Diaz's Knight and Day took third with $20.5 million.

The Karate Kid and The A-Team rounded out the rest of the top five with $15.4 million and $6 million, respectively. Something tells me we'll see all of these standings change up very soon — Eclipse opens in theaters on Wednesday.

Woody and Buzz are back! It's a happy return for the Toy Story franchise, with Toy Story 3 raking in $109 million in its opening weekend — the highest grossing debut ever for Pixar. It booted The Karate Kid, which fell from the top spot to No. 2 with $29 million.

Bradley Cooper and the boys of The A-Team came in third $13.7 million, followed by Get Him to the Greek with $6.1 million for fourth and Shrek Forever After in fifth with $5.5 million.

The other new release of the weekend, Jonah Hex, bowed with $5 million for an eighth place spot – disappointing, but not that surprising given its scathing reviews (including my own).

Bradley Cooper and Jessica Biel joined their The A-Team costars in Paris yesterday for a photo call on the city streets. They've been promoting their film together for the last few weeks with stops at a NASCAR event in North Carolina and a press conference in Mexico before the star-studded LA premiere earlier this month. While the movie didn't take the top spot at the box office over the weekend, its star Bradley was in good company on our list of hot blockbuster guys of Summer alongside Jake Gyllenhaal and Leonardo DiCaprio. He brought his girlfriend Renee Zellweger to the City of Lights where they dined with another low-key couple, while Jessica was quietly joined by Justin Timberlake on the trip.
